In January 2026, The Light Church will be celebrating its 20th anniversary!!! There were 3 awesome services on Christmas Eve this week. The worship team is phenomenal. The pastor, Ron Bates, is terrific. He and his wife, Ava, are so genuine and they love the congregation so much. What you see at church is what you see away from church. There is the best women's ministry as well. It is called Radiance and there are so many fun things to do within that ministry. Check out the website at thelightcf.org. When you visit on Sunday at 9AM or 11AM, look for me! I am usually at every service. There is also a great bible study group that meets Wednesdays at 7PM. I love this church!! Hope to see you soon!!

The history and beauty that ooze out of this Church are undeniably breathtaking. Although it is in…read morea remote location, I would recommend the drive out hereto see one of Texas' famous Painted Churches. However all beauty and history aside, there are a few drawbacks that hold this parish back a bit. My primary criticism is the Liturgy. Despite all the beautiful walls within the church, the mass within the church is a bit... hollow. Why have a gorgeous high altar when you don't even bother to use it? Why instead is the altar that is used look like a little table that barely fits anything? This parish should use the tools that God has given them, not some renovations from the 60's. This is also reflected in the atmosphere of the parish overall. People talking before and after Mass, dressing in jeans or shorts, and just an overall lack of reverance. It's far from the worst offender in the area, but it's just another in a line of irreverent Masses. This church deserves so much more! As for the staff, they seem friendly enough. Fr. Anthony seems nice enough, but he seems like a priest going through the motions. Overall I will always be at awe over the art in this Church and likely will visit again for that reason, however improvements can be made. I've seen much worse here in rural Texas, but this church needs to embrace its traditions. The future of The Catholic Church is in tradition. Younger generations yearn for tradition!

We are new to the church and love…read morethe folks, the peaceful drive to Plantersville, our clergy, religious Ed, and the grounds of St. Mary's. Today we just finished our first time at St. Mary's Annual Bizarre (2019 was their 125th annual bizarre). This bizarre was amazing with a great, large turnout (huge). We loved experiencing the community, the country and homemade BBQ and deserts; live auction so fun; great silent auction and the kids loved the games. We really appreciated how the bizarre is a great gathering feast to Montgomery, Plantersville and around. If visiting the area, St. Mary's would be a nice place to visit followed by Sunday late afternoon fun at Bernhardt Winery in Plantersville.

LSCC transformed my relationship with Jesus Christ. My husband and I, and our children are all…read moreCatholic, and were devoted parishioners until COVID shut down Masses. I wanted my family in church, and through a series of events we found LSCC. That little church community revolutionized my marriage, my children's walk with Christ, my friendships -- I could go on & on. It frightens me to think that I could have gone my whole life thinking I was a "good Christian" when I was so very far from being "all in" with Christ. Randy is the REAL DEAL, and if I could be half the woman Darla is, I'd be doing great! I saw a review stating that the church wasn't Bible believing/teaching, and with all due respect, that simply isn't true. In fact, Randy didn't even plan on being a preacher, he just wanted to have a really good community Bible study, and it blew up. That's right, the entire church started out as a Bible study. Honestly, I feel if time wasn't a constraint, Randy (and the other pastors) could preach for HOURS and we'd all be glued to the lesson. The "Digging Deep" Bible study is offered before church (and during the week) and takes you further and more richly into the Scriptures that surround Sunday's services. In fact, I grew up in traditional Protestant and Catholic Churches, and it wasn't until I started to attend LSCC that I actually studied and understood the Bible. The services are honest, timely, Biblical, and I can count on one hand how many times I made it through one of Pastor Randy, Pastor Amber or Pastor Rob's sermons without bawling my eyes out. To that end, it was the first place I ever audibly heard the voice of God. I had authentically felt the presence of the Lord, but never heard Him. And, to be honest, I always made fun of/questioned folks saying "God told me...", until it happened to me, right there in LSCC. And, I'm not the only one...I've seen hardened veterans, big burley cow hands, little old ladies and 7 year old children all walk down the aisle with tears in their eyes as they accepted Jesus into their hearts. The Next Gen program (lead by Pastor Amber) is mind blowingly amazing. My three year old's only fits were when we'd tell him it was time to leave Sunday school. My six year old accurately and contextually quotes Scripture. Also, I teach high schoolers who attend LSCC and they are all authentically pursuing their Great Commission. So, if you have kiddos and you care about their walk, get them to LSCC ASAP. We're now in Montana, and the absolute hardest part of leaving Texas wasn't leaving family and friends, though that was hard, it was leaving LSCC. We cried during after our last service there, and bawled some more when Pastor Amber prayed over our family as she said her goodbyes. We now go to church in-person here, but watch the LSCC online service on Monday mornings, because nothing here compares to the message and Great Commission work being done at that little Cowboy church in Montgomery, TX. If you want a REAL, all in, unbridled, unfiltered relationship with the Lord, and a community and leadership to help you get there, Lone Star Cowboy Church is where it's at.

The pastor, his wife and the congregation welcomed me as their Sister-in-Christ. Attending several churches my whole life, I never heard the gospel of grace presented the way Pastor Walter teaches. I had accepted Christ many years ago but, at times, questioned my relationship with Christ. The Lord God opened my eyes to His truth and it changed my life. I went through a very trying time during the 3 1/2 years I attended. Our church showered me with love and compassion, which helped me heal and move forward. I was involved with a small group there and it was my favorite time during the week. Fellowship, a meal and deep study of the word. There's nothing better than that! I moved away in 2019, but visit when I can while in the area. I highly recommend, if you've never stepped foot in a church or possibly quit going, give HighPoint Fellowship an opportunity to show you love, acceptance and the truth of God's word.
