I began my care with Laurice later into my pregnancy after switching over from my original OB. To summarize a long story-I had a wonderful, complication-free pregnancy, but was feeling pressured by my OB to continue various testing, all of which yielded non-concerning results, and was causing so much stress for me. In an attempt to maintain an intervention-free birth, I reached out to Laurice and Bill, who graciously accepted me into their care. Bill spoke to me with compassion and empathy, as I shared my experience with my original OB office, and we promptly arranged a meeting, followed by a home visit to ensure we were prepared for a home birth. Laurice's knowledge and confidence in the body's design for birth brought so much comfort, and reassured me that we were, indeed, designed for birth! Birth was no longer a scary thought to me, it was something I knew I could do! During labor, Laurice was a calm, reassuring voice. She stayed on the phone as they drove to our home. She was gentle, yet steadfast in her guidance, as she allowed me to move and position as I pleased, while offering her expertise. I was not told how to labor or when to push, but instead, guided to listen to my body. I trusted her knowledge and suggestions which I knew allowed for such a positive outcome. After delivery, I didn't have to advocate for what I wanted (skin to skin, delayed cord clamping, etc) because I knew that I shared the same philosophies as Laurice. In my most vulnerable moments, I didn't have to fight an uphill battle for the birth experience that I wanted. Laurice stayed with us for several hours after delivery, and in the weeks following, called various times to check in on us. Laurice provided care that exceeded any and all of my expectations. She was professional, knowledgeable, and confident in her practice, and guided us with compassion and gentleness that made this birth experience possible. I would recommend Laurice to anyone seeking a birth experience free of unnecessary interventions, and will absolutely have her by my side for any future births!

Exactly one year and a month ago I had an intrauterine device placed by another provider and unfortunately been having many issues with it for quite some time. I scheduled my appointment to have the old IUD taken out and a new one put in as talked about with Dr. Christine A Talmage, M.D at the Bethlehem location. I became concerned when I didn't receive a confirmation call or email the night before my appointment so I called to confirm that everything was still set in stone. I was told by Christine (Who works at the Bethlehem location) someone had deleted my appointment and due to this problem not being my fault whatsoever they would 100% make sure that I would be seen no matter what for the 22nd of October. I got a call back on October 22nd at 9:38 AM from Christine stating that they wouldn't be able to see me until Tuesday the 29th even though she GUARANTEED that I would be able to be seen the night before when I had called. This procedure was scheduled two weeks in advance because in order for them to place the IUD I have to be menstruating. Furthermore, they needed time to order the IUD which would take about 2 weeks. So I scheduled it accordingly around my time of the month. Taking time off is very difficult due to me being full time student and a Veterinary Technician at an Emergency Hospital. It was very unprofessional of the health care provider, Dr. Talmage, not only to cancel my appointment, but they did not make me aware of it until the night prior. Had they made me aware that the appointment was canceled due to a conflict or something else I would've understood. Unfortunately I am now in excruciating pain and I will now have to wait to get my IUD removed and replaced next month with another provider. I do not recommend using or wasting your time at St. Luke's OBGYN. I truly hope my review can help someone looking for a reliable OBGYN as St. Luke's is far from that.

I have not experienced rudeness from the staff. My sister and sister-in-law have been with Dr. Willis as long as I have. The thing I really appreciate with Dr. Willis is that he always comes in and visits with his patients first, before they have to get into a gown for the exam. I feel that this respects my dignity at an appointment that can be embarrassingly difficult for many women.

Not to mention you can never get an appointment and God forbid you need to reschedule--you won't be able to get one for months later. They have the worst hours of availability I've ever seen for a Dr.'s office--they close at 3pm so good luck if you have a job with regular hours, and they all take lunch at the same time so they're essentially closed for an hour in the middle of the day too. The Dr.s are not the problem, it's everything else about this business. I work in customer service and the way they treat their customers/patients is horrid.

A maiden aunt of mine had pain that no one understood, and it was bad enough to make her almost holler. There were repeated guesses from several doctors that it was from a bad urinary infection. Ultimately it was found to be of a different cause- severe spasming of the inside muscles, very often right after a bowel movement. This doctor was extremely thorough and sweet, and found a regimen that worked for her that involved very small doses of an anti-anxiety medication and Valium vaginal suppositories. I know, who knew they made them? Who knew that it could be used topically? But they are made and they work, and this doctor and his understanding of what was going on hugely improved the quality of my aunt's life. So often it is hard to appreciate what doctors do for you, but what Dr. Echenberg did was so very obvious and helpful, it was clear. We are very thankful our paths crossed with his.
