You would think Ms. Armentrout would be mindful of where her referrals are coming from and treat potentially new clients with some professionalism as Cornerstone does. I had a 1pm appointment. Rearranged some vacation plans for this appointment because I need to wrap up my estate planning. Kept me waiting for over 15 minutes in the waiting room and never showed for my appointment. Ms. Armentrout was meeting with another client reviewing their trust (door open for anyone passing by to hear client's business - client confidentiality?) Ms. Armentrout emailed me after I left with a lame excuse that "client meeting ran over, that unfortunately happens sometimes." I emailed her back with some tips as to how to manage your business as a "professional." 1) Better time management with your schedule. If you may possibly need time with one client, don't schedule a potential new client and then keep them waiting. Add that time into your schedule to ensure you are timely with clients; 2) Politely excuse yourself from your client, go to the lobby and acknowledge your new potential client, let them know you will be a few more minutes and then return to your business. I was left with the impression Ms. Armentrout has difficulty managing her business. So, why would I want her managing mine. Think about it!

Ok, $1000 an hour could be worth it if you have a real business need. Then they tell you to upload all your tax information to their web site, so she can review it. I find this confusing because the bill rate is so high, it seems like the kind of thing that would not include prep. Also, I am not so comfortable sending all my tax and financial information to a professional services company I have never really spoken to and whose reputation I could not verify on Yelp. When they call you, they call from Skype numbers that do not work when you try to call them back. I told them I did not want to go over my whole return, just wanted to get advice on a tax strategy she wrote about in her blog. I made an appointment for Saturday at 9 am. There was a mix up on the phone number and it had to be rescheduled to Thursday at 9 am. This is by far the strangest professional services interaction I have ever had. I met with Diane by phone to ask that specific question about an article she published. Though I told them that was what I wanted to discuss, when she got on the call she said that was not possible and was not familiar with the article I was referencing. So, I did not get what I was looking for. I asked for a refund and they provided it to me, so they treated me fairly. Response: Diane appears to be correct that my review is for USTax Aid Services provided by her. Other than that, her comments are inconsistent with my experience.

We went to this attorney to decant my California trust to Nevada and create a new one for my wife…read moreetc. This guy is the most unprofessional attorney I have ever experienced. We were initially sat at a small table next to an office kitchen in a dimly lit hallway to sign disclosure forms. Mr Collins approached our table without introducing himself and in a clipped and condescending tone if we were done reading. Entered his office I was stuck at its slovenly disorganized appearance akin to a storage closet. I wondered if he sold luggage on the side as six or seven suitcases were literally thrown about the floor. The office was a mess. His manner was completely unprofessional and immediately insulted my wife that he would not review her existing trust ...but looked at mine? I wanted to leave immediately. Instead of presenting an overview of his services and outlining various aspects of our needs and the process forward he went granular into my trust. When he asked for his $400 fee to be paid by check or cash I explained I wasn't told this is the preferred method of payment as I didn't bring either. He was really put off by having to bill me. All in all a total waste of less than 45 minutes charged at $400 an hour for a sloppy, uninformative unprofessional meeting.
