My group and I were yelled at by the marshall for misunderstanding a sign that read "All play #10". The sign was supposed to say "all play starts at #10". We were treated very harshly by this employee. I've never left a review before but I feel very strongly that we were mistreated and threatened over a simple misunderstanding. In front of other golfers on the tee box he yelled and got into my face as if he was going to hit me. My friends and I have played golf all over the country and have never experienced such threatening and unprofessional behavior.

Other than short ranges at clubs, this is the only range in town...and that's a shame. The only…read moregood thing about Mountaineer Golf Center is drivers are allowed (at least I assume they are - there aren't any attendants around, just a kid hanging out in the shop). In the year 2016, this is the only business I know that will not accept credit or debit cards. Even roadside food stands have a way to take cards through smartphones now. The "pro shop" is over priced. Apparently they don't realize people will compare prices online and other places these days. The mats are in terrible shape. The grass area is not maintained and hard as a rock. The putting area looks like it hasn't been touched in a decade and the chipping area isn't much better (and also is in danger of mis-hit shots from some of the tees. The yardage markers do not seem accurate either but it's hard to tell for sure as they are on a steep incline. This town badly needs another range, and an indoor range would be great considering the weather from November - March. This range inspires me to go spend $100 on a net and head to the back yard.

I only give out 5 stars for extra exceptional Courses. This…read moreis one of them. Inspired by Mr. TexMex himself Lee Trevino, Linville Falls is a hidden treasure on hwy 221 near Marion NC. This is a shoemakers dream. Unlike most mountain courses, this one does not attempt to be so hard it can't be mastered. With a mountain stream running through its entirety bad shots are paid for in golf balls and added strokes. Most courses in the area are dishearteningly difficult with holes carved out if the side of a 45 degree slope. Check out the pictures and you will agree Linville Falls is a great course! Give them your business. 5 star friendly. The clubhouse is not fully stocked and that's the only downfall. I would have bought swag if they had any that's how much I like this course! Hit it straight!

We played Bay Hill, since we are from Orlando. The on tap beer, wine and cider choices helps your game if you're too tight. At least it helps you not care as much.
