I used Alliance for a large roofing project and also to replace a shower base. Alliance provided a…read morelifetime mold-free guarantee for the shower work. Imagine my surprise then when no more than six months after the work was completed, my shower base had developed extensive mold in the seaming between the base and the wall tile. I contacted the owner to make him aware of the issue, and he stated that they had used the wrong caulk and would address the issue by replacing the caulk. However, when they came back they used the same caulk as the first time and the employee stated that was the caulk they always use. After a short time, the mold came back just as before. I contacted the owner yet again and was told I should just clean the caulk and he cannot come re-caulk every year when mold grows (notwithstanding the fact that the project was guaranteed mold-free). What seems more likely to me is that the correct caulk is not being used, or poor workmanship has caused mold to grow underneath the mold-free caulking. After repeated attempts to communicate with the company and the owner to remedy the issue, they have now become completely non-responsive. I would only recommend this company if you are willing shell out several thousand dollars and take the risk of being left with a deteriorating final product and no recourse for correction. Zero stars, do not recommend.

Our house is not a cookie cutter house, but has lots and lots of nooks and windows which stick out and so on and so on. The crew did a fantastic job making the siding fit perfectly everywhere. Along the way we discovered a few minor and a few major issues (rotten wood, random electric wires where they shouldn't have been etc.), and they fixed everything without making price adjustments. One major issue was dealt with quickly and with a very fair price adjustment. All in all I am so happy to have found a fair and reliable contractor in our new city. The total price was right in the middle of several offers we got. I will be using them again for a few more projects.

Their quote was a little higher than the other company, but the work was done to my satisfaction. Overall, I was decently satisfied with the work East Penn Roofing did on my home, but I was very…read morefrustrated with the lack of communication and the surprise bill I received at the end. We had Jacob, the estimator, come out and give us a quote of around $6,000 (plus or minus a few hundred dollars) for a roof leak repair. The crew came out, installed a new rubber roof on our back sunroom, added a skylight, and did some carpentry work. The only communication I received during the project was a single phone call from Jacob, letting me know the cost might be a few hundred dollars higher than the original estimate. The next day, however, someone else came out asking us to sign a change order stating we owed an additional $3,200 on top of the $6,000 estimate. I could have understood $1,000 over, but more than 50% higher with no warning? That was completely unreasonable. Unfortunately, their fine print allows them to tack on costs without much recourse for the customer. Change orders are presented after the work is done, not during the process, leaving you with no opportunity to approve or decline adjustments as they go. In summary: East Penn Roofing does solid work, but their communication is poor and you should be prepared for surprise costs far above your initial estimate. Buyer beware.

He didn't overcomplicate the project or load me up with roofing jargon like other contractors did. Their quote came in customized to our project and was built to have no large "extra material " surprises when the project closed. They were always communicative and friendly about the project. When they encountered a situation that was abnormal, they walked me through the issue and offered resolutions that would've cost them money. They seem to be stand-up craftsmen who want to do a good job at all costs and don't treat their customers like just another number. If you are going to invite anyone to do work on their home especially on your roof, they are the type to get.

I had water leaking from my roof down into my upstairs bathroom ceiling. These scammers ripped me off, paid $350 cash for nothing. the 2 guys who came out had a hard time climbing a ladder and walking on my roof which is not that steep as the guys from state farm were able to easily walk on my roof. once on the roof, they claim that they found nothing wrong but wanted $350 for just coming out. What a scam. I Had to call Home Depot to send out one of their contractors to repair my roof, they put flashing boot and sealer around one of their boots (pipes) coming out of of the roof. It's a simple fix that these guys missed. Stay away from these guys, save your money and go w/ someone else. I would recommend talking w/ your local Home Depot or Lowe's to recommend someone. These guys are overpriced and a disappointment.
