The fields and courts looked so inviting, and I noticed right away how many teenagers were hanging out there, playing basketball, skating around, or just relaxing with their friends in a way that made the whole area feel lively and welcoming. What surprised me the most was how easy it was to move from one activity to another without anything feeling crowded or rushed, which makes it a perfect spot for teenagers who like having space to be active and creative. Even though I had been aware of this recreation center before, I didn't realize how much there was to appreciate until I walked around and saw how naturally people were having fun there. I really liked how comfortable it felt to just enjoy the environment without any pressure, and how the whole place seemed designed for people to make their own kind of fun. I never doubted that the experience was going to turn out the way I hoped it would. I only visited Harbor City Recreation Center one time in my life before making this review, but it stood out to me as one of the most enjoyable and easygoing public spaces I've been to in a long time, and I would highly recommend that even teenagers go there because it gives them a place to play, hang out, stay active, and feel free to be themselves.

People are encouraged to maintain the place by throwing away trash in proper receptacles. WHO: Kids of all ages having fun enjoying the park. Seriously I think I saw a guy in his 50's riding! Very cool! REVIEW: I absolutely love this park. I frequently get my nephews begging me to take them to the skatepark so I've been to several in the area. Typically we'll load up the back of my suv with skateboards, protective gear, cameras, camping chairs, water, & snacks so they can rock & roll. About half the park is under the 110 FWY so yes you can get annoyed by the humming but at the same time you get the nice cool concrete shade. In the summer this is a blessing! When I get tired of chasing them around with my camera I pick up some trash & then plop myself on a camping chair. Don't rely on me to clean up after you though, pick up after yourself. Nephews always make friends so we make sure to bring extra water for them. BATHROOM: None except for a porta potty onsite for Park-N-Ride users & park riders alike. FOOD: Walk over to the pizza place in the adjacent shopping center & they sell pizza by the slice. Subway is in the same shopping center. Burgers? Walk a little further, cross the street. lol DONATE: Paypal donation link is http://www.sanpedrosk8.org/donate/ The park is funded/maintained by lots of community cooperation so please respect the park. Fam invited me to come through for pickleball practice. I was free, and it isn't too far from home,…read moreso eh: why not. Came through mid-week around 6p-ish and boy: parking is a complete challenge! It made me wonder why it was so crowded on a random weekday and then saw the after-school program sign. That might have been it. Found a spot in no time and walked to the tennis/pickleball area. It's kinda cool they converted tennis courts to pickleball courts. At least it's being used: the two tennis courts were left empty. Got a couple of warm up drills and a game in, and that was fun. (Didn't get the chance to take pictures: I got thrown in drills soon as I arrived!) Will most likely return if there are any more pickleball practice runs!

The city of Long Beach does a really wonderful job at taking care of its seniors through this park…read more They have activities for them almost everyday at the hall that include bingo, Zumba classes, karaoke, tai chi and many others. Sometimes, the seniors even get fed for free and go on field trips. (Space is limited for field trips so, sign up early.) I love seeing the little leaguers play at the baseball field and hearing their families cheer them on. I forgot to mention that Silverado Park just installed a new playground with rubberized playground surfacing. I would suggest leaving this park before the sun goes down. The park is unfortunately known for being dangerous at night.

No email after a week, so I emailed to ask the status and was told the main extra (shock absorber post) was being shipped there and would arrive within a week, and asked me to pick it up and bring it back in when the part arrived. I wrote back that I don't drive unless I have to (medical), have never ridden an e-bike so would be transporting it home to learn to ride it, and so asked him to store it until the part was in and it was a full build. Scott accommodated, and I got a fully built PERFECT bike for me yesterday. Scott helped me load it into my SUV (a tight fit, so grateful for his help) and I shook his hand.
