I got inspired by the #FleetwoodMacDreamsChallenge vid so I needed to fix my longboard. Here was my experience on a Sunday afternoon. AMBIANCE: It's in a random spot down the street of Willow (if you're coming from Long Beach). You might miss it so keep your eyes peeled. The street is a busy street but the sidewalk shouldn't be. The spot itself is a pretty clean skate shop flexing all their boards and gear. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly peeps and community vibes. I like how every Sunday they're watching football. Came in a few days ago to look for a replacement on a bent truck on my electric skateboard. Brought in the bent truck in hopes they had something similar the guy maybe owner told me they don't normally carry those size trucks and when they do I'd normally have to buy a set. He kindly suggested that he can try and bend it back to which I agreed and sure enough it works. I took my daughter here because she is just getting into skating. As soon as we walked in Buddy greeted us even though he was with another guest. Seconds after that, Keisha walked to the counter, greeted us and asked if there was anything particular we were looking for. I explained that we just needed a good basic starter setup for my daughter. Buddy had everything we needed layed out on the counter in like 2 minutes. No joke. Probably less. He put everything together free of charge (again lightning fast, he could probably do this with his eyes closed). They were both so friendly in a genuine way. Buddy gave us some great tips on how my daughter can start practicing tricks and informed us of a local skate part. Oh, and they gave me a discount for purchasing the entire setup that day. I stopped in to buy a complete board today to help shed some stay-at-home weight I've been gaining. It's been 26 years since I last skated so things have changed since then. The couple running the shop were super friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me build a board as close to my specs as can be. Modern boards, along with the trucks and wheels, are different than what I'm used to back in the day. These guys have a good selection of items for being a small shop. Prices were fair. The service was fast and again friendly. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone interested in skateboarding or want to try it out. read more

Supa tiny shop located along the east side of Main Street north of Sepulveda Boulevard in Carson adjacent to a residential area. There is plenty of street parking & usually a motorcycle or two parked out front. I have three little nephews that love to skate and this shop hooks me up w unique gifts for them: stickers, protective gear, equipment, shoes, hats & apparel. Over Christmas we got my nephews Transitions logo sweatshirts which were reasonably priced but undersized. The owners remembered us and were quick to help resolve the issue. They gave us top notch customer service which made us feel good to support hardworking folks. In the end we bought the eldest nephew a new sweatshirt instead of exchanging. Kiddos just handed down their Xmas sweatshirts & everything fit perfect! And the smallest sweatshirt will fit my youngest nephew soon enough. Brought in a board I got somewhere else, and wanted to upgrade the bearings so the thing actually rolled well-- the guy behind the counter (sorry man, didn't catch the name) took a quick look, told me I didn't need to buy anything, made an adjustment to it, and it was exactly what I wanted! He could have sold me new stuff, but he didn't, letting me know to bring it back whenever it needed anything. This is the kind of service that makes for loyal customers, and I'm glad to let everyone know that this was my positive experience at this shop! Went to transitions to get my two kids and myself new boards. The owner, Buddy, was very knowledgeable, and so was the lady there(so sorry I forgot your name). After looking over the kids boards, trucks, bearings and wheels. Buddy said I would only need new decks and use all the existing hardware. Pretty cool in my book, he could have sold me three new set ups. He even gave me the idea of using the extra parts from my kids board for my new one. It was really good to see there was still a honest skate shops out there. I look forward to getting back into the world of skating. I had to give them a good review they deserve it. The shop owners are very nice but not in a fake way. I felt comfortable being in there and they did not try to up sell me at all when they easily could have. I consider myself an intermediate skater I can put one together and I mainly cruise around but I'm not educated on brands and which is best for what. I just needed some good cruiser wheels and thought I needed new bearings but the guy told me mine are in great condition and that I didn't need any new ones. The people in there were very informative they were telling me a lot of good advice for maintenance and to not just replace everything--also that I shouldn't use a light color grip tape which is what I wanted but they persuaded me not to do that because it gets dirty fast. Seems like a family owned business & they come off as generous people with a true passion for skating. I will definitely keep coming back here. Another thing I liked was the owner is very hands on, straight away he started examining my board to make sure it's in good shape and obviously loves his job. Took my board straight to the park after and it was a super smooth ride thanks to my new wheels & lubed original bearings. read more
