If we could vote 0 (zero) stars, I would. Over ten years ago, I meant to report this…read moreunprofessional, arrogant ummm...person to the ABA when I paid him $1,500 retainer to represent me in a framed and fabricated Adair County Animal Cruelty case. He did NOTHING but collect my retainer and send one letter. When I called to talk to him, he told me I needed an APPOINTMENT to talk to him on the phone and was VERY hateful. Needless to say, I spent $1,500 on practically nothing and had to retain an attorney in another location. Hence, you ask what prompts these angry words now, after ten+ years? I'll tell you what prompts me. A FORMER friend had referred me to David Keen in 2007. She had used him as her divorce attorney in one of her five divorces. Fast forward to 2017, and this same friend is in the process of really taking advantage of her current husband after having left HIM for two years. I "moved" to HIS corner and encouraged him to finally push a divorce, as she had become verbally abusive to me as well. She hired a pit bull female attorney in town by the name of Joy Denton and my male friend ended up with a lethargic poodle by the name of Leia Knee (review for her will follow). They agreed upon a mediation rather than going to court, despite my recommendations. In this mediation, my male friend was coerced to give way too much (lost a good portion of his retirement earned over 20+ years although they were only legally married eight years and she lived with him perhaps half of that time). You think I digress about David Keen? Not hardly. I was totally boycotted from the whole several-hours-long mediation due to my former friendship with her. I found out weeks later that the MEDIATOR, who is supposed to be a NEUTRAL middle-man to both parties, was none other than "Mr." David Keen, who had FORMERLY represented the respondent in a previous divorce. This was never disclosed to my male friend. If I had been at the mediation, sparks would have flown and they knew that. This is dishonesty at its best, conflict of interest, and lack of professional integrity. The only reason I discovered this was because I saw his name on some paperwork. I really don't know how this dishonest curmudgeon is still in business.

I'll try not to be too verbose. My roommate (not a boyfriend at the time) retained Ms. Knee in his…read morecomplicated divorce. Overall, she is way too passive and tries to get her clients to take the laid back way (unless it's a gender thing -- perhaps she's more assertive with female clients). Nevertheless, when my roommate's ex-wife-to-be was moving TRAILER LOADS of belongings (MOST bought after they were married but she claimed basically everything obtained during the union), I was remanded OUT of the house and the respondent (a former friend of mine) was allowed to go through MY things, including my Christmas gifts I had bought and stashed, an entire room full of Etsy shoppe inventory, and my drawers and closet, etc. I first declined to leave the house and this attorney had my roommate so intimidated into thinking that HE would be arrested or in trouble because of MY behavior. I SO wish I had refused to leave, although he became almost belligerent with me because his legal counsel had coached him to comply with almost anything the other party wanted. I spoke directly with Ms. Knee on the phone, telling her these were MY belongings as I had rented a room from him for over a YEAR. If I had to do it all over again, I would have called the police, even though it probably would have severed the friendship I had with the Petitioner. Hence, I had to leave and surrender my belongings for the respondent to riffle/rifle through, with my only defense being the Petitioner's daughter, who tried to protect my things she knew of -- or could communicate to me via a quick text pic --- because she was allowed to be present. As I have lots of inventory and personal items, I couldn't even see what they were taking otherwise, so I likely lost things that I haven't yet missed. I do know I lost my father's vintage toolbox with tools inside, a couple of tech items, several pairs of sweatpants, and almost lost some of my inventory that was only saved by my roommate's daughter. I later found out that Ms. Knee also knowingly or unwittingly allowed the mediator in the final process to be an attorney who had represented the respondent in a previous divorce, which should be an obvious No-No. My roommate lost part of his retirement earned over 20+ years to a wife who only lived with him half of the eight fiscal years they were married. He also lost basically everything that he and his ex-wife had purchased during the union (although he did manage to retain a boat). She is still pushing for him to pay off a Macy's account that only she used and ran up to almost $4,000. I would NOT recommend this attorney.
