Wilson Lumber is a long standing business in Huntsville. We are looking to purchase a nice screen door for the front of our house. We have gone to big box stores and didn't see anything even close to what I want. We took a ride up the Parkway to check out what Wilson Lumber has. Inside the store is going thru a remodel so items are not out for viewing. I did speak with a sales representative and was able to see what they stock and what they can order. On the floor I did not see anything I liked. I was given a catalog and a business card with a url for a website they can order "custom" screen doors. In the last two years we have built two houses and have sourced most of our materials from Wilson. We worked with Emile on our projects and he provided extensive knowledge about all building materials. He caught mistakes (mis-sized doors) on our blueprints that our architect had missed. He answered phone calls and e-mails even when he was on vacation or when the store was closed. Even through the pandemic and shortages Wilson worked hard to source exactly what we needed for our custom homes. Their price points were very competitive and their customer service was amazing! Yes, there were delays but, anytime we called they would always give us exact dates of expected deliveries. They always went above and beyond to help us. This would be an update from a previous review. I believe the issue to be mostly a communication error. I just had 6 interior doors installed through Wilson lumber. I am beyond pleased. I own a older hold with uneven floors and out of plumb walls. That did not stop the installers from doing a wonderful job. They even returned few weeks later to make some minor adjustments. The process was quick from the door ordering process until installation. I could not be any more pleased with the way things have turned out. read more

We purchased new pair of patio french doors recently from Wilson Lumber in Huntsville. The wait time on the doors was almost 5 months, because of supply chain issues out of their control. The sales agent was very supportive, in that we were kept abreast of our pending order and contacted as soon as it arrived. The installation crew was outstanding and did a wonderful job of removing theold doors and installing new ones. Just wanted to give an Atta Boy to Chris. (or "the big ugly" as he called himself when I asked him his name). Chris delivered a sizable load of wood for our back porch project and he was outstanding. This was a tricky delivery as he had to avoid a goal post as well as a Sat Dish and to get the product in the backyard. For the side yard delivery he had to position the 18th feet sheets so he left room for the dumpster, left room for access to the backyard without laying the wood on my neighbors lawn. NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! If I could give negative stars I would!!!! Worst business in Huntsville! We ordered a very expensive French door back in April. We were told the delivery date would be June 6th. Here it is June 11th and no door and never heard from Wilson Lumber about the delivery. I had to call and leave a vm with the sales guy who helped us purchase the door (The sales man Josh never will return a call). Never called me back, so I called and talked to another sales guy. He took down my information, said he would call the manufacturer and would call me back. Never called, so I had to call and talk to him. He then told me it would be END OF JULY!!! Our house is a new build and we are waiting for this door to arrive so we can finish our house!! I honestly don't believe the door was ordered. I think we were forgotten about until I called wondering where my door was. The excuse was, well Covid hurt a lot of orders or we are so busy. Well I work for a company that places orders and delivers orders and we have been doing good. So has other companies. The Covid excuses can't last forever and they are milking it to death. And you weren't too busy to take my order and payment. The customer service IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERINCED!! Every time I call the store they can't find my customer information. I give them names, phone numbers, address, literally everything I can and no one ever seems to find my account. And since they can't find the account they can't help me. They just leave a note for Josh, who guess what, doesn't return calls!! I can't afford to leave my job and sit up there and babysit them to make sure I am not forgotten. Went to WL this afternoon to get some ideas for replacing a shower. Was greeted by a person at a reception desk and asked if He could help. Told him what I was looking for and he directed me to an area with showers set up. My husband and I looked and had some questions such as what all was included in the prices posted. Two sales clerks at a desk nearby completely ignored us. I went back to the desk and told the guy I had some questions. He said the lady in a green top would be glad to answer questions. Walked back to the area and continued to be ignored by these two employees. Even walked right up to the desk where they were. It was pretty obvious they weren't about to offer any help. Went back to the desk and told the guy I thought maybe they were too busy to help. He seemed irritated and said he would come over and try to help. I didn't want to inconvenience anyone in WL by this time so decided best thing to do was leave. When I saw WL Christlike principles to build a successful company on the website I was taken aback by the one that said Treat others the way you want to be treated. I didn't come there to be ignored. My wife and I purchased a front door from Wilsons Lumber with the understanding that WL would be there from the beginning to the end of the process. We worked with Emile Jones the sales associate throughout the process and he led us to believe that WL would be there to the end. The installer David new that there was a problem with the brick molding and shared that information with Emile, but neither of them informed to us that there was a problem prior or after install of the front door. When I noticed that the door was not installed correctly, meaning they never even tried to shim the door which left gaps as big as my middle finger on the top and side of the door. I contacted Emile and sent him pictures, Emile came to the house the next morning and agreed that the door was not right and contacted David to come out. As we waited Emile didn't understand how David installed the door without taking the inside of the door trim off so he could shim it properly. David came out and when we questioned him about the gaps David went to his truck and gave me these weather stripping like pads and said to put them behind the door jamb weather stripping and that's how they fix that problem? As a superintendent for construction companies as well as a maintenance director for Hotels, apt communities, etc. my boss would fire me if I ever left shady work like this. I contacted the owners of Wilsons Lumber; Rob, Russ and Mark Wilson and after one day and two conversations over the phone they decided to step away from the problem and let the installer and us figure it out? I invited the owners to our home to see the door and they first agreed but then backed out. I have to write this review because this is exactly what people need to know, we had to pay for the door up front which was $5,000 and have this door drag the bottom of the threshold and the brick molding cut incorrectly, and not even shimmed properly.
