A Difficult Turnkey Building Experience As a past customer of Quality Building Supply (QBS), I'm sharing our experience so future customers can make an informed decision before choosing QBS as their turnkey builder. Our build began in September 2025 with the foundation pour. Within months, the foundation had already cracked. After framing, three exterior door thresholds were left improperly sealed, allowing rain and snowmelt to enter the home. We repeatedly brought this to QBS's attention, both in person and by email, but it was never properly addressed. The garage framing also blew over. Our neighbors--not QBS--alerted us. When we contacted QBS, we were told it was "not a big deal." Building materials were delivered months before we moved from out of state, with no advanced notice. Trusses were left sitting in the grass for months. By the time framing and the exterior were completed, we were informed that mold/spores had developed on the trusses. Getting QBS to address and treat the issue was extremely difficult. QBS hired P2 Electrical for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. We encountered numerous problems, including: Incorrectly drilled garage and porch electrical holes. Damaged front porch metal that took significant effort to get replaced. HVAC that was improperly installed, resulting in water leaking into a bedroom. HVAC drain lines that were not connected and a float switch that was left hanging and disconnected. Three outlets/switches drilled into a kitchen window sill rather than properly placed on the wall. Poorly installed bathroom tile and a ceiling that had to be re-sanded, mudded, and repainted. Custom hood and faux beams that did not match what we ordered. A missing P-trap in the master shower--an issue we discovered after moving in. We ultimately went to QBS headquarters seeking help with a contractor. Although Alexis Huddleston was initially polite, we subsequently received a letter accusing us of being disrespectful and using derogatory language. When we asked for a specific example, we were told that QBS "stands behind their contractors." We were required to sign the letter's terms for the build to continue. After that, six weeks passed with no communication or work from QBS. Throughout the project, it was common for four weeks to pass with no one on the property. We were verbally told the home would take approximately four months to complete, or five months with weather delays. By month seven, we contacted an attorney specializing in residential construction. QBS did not respond to our attorney's request for a completion date and timeline. After QBS stated they would not continue the build, our attorney sent another letter alleging breach of contract. We never heard from QBS again. There were many additional issues beyond what I've listed here. We are still in the process of finishing the house ourselves. What was supposed to be an exciting turnkey building experience became an exhausting process of repeatedly identifying problems, requesting corrections, receiving little meaningful follow-through and being disrespected. We're sharing our experience in the hope that prospective customers carefully research QBS and understand what they may be taking on before choosing them as their turnkey builder. I am only giving 1 star because it won't allow you to give 0. This place has the absolute WORST customer service, it is basically nonexistent! You can't get anyone to call or email you back. We waited WEEKS just for a quote on windows, not even custom! Still have not received a quote. We have ordered windows and doors elsewhere and will have them next week and probably still won't have a quote from QBS! It seems that unless you are a big time contractor they don't give you the time of day! The little guys are what made your business and you seem to have forgotten that! Shame on you QBS!!! Our house project was a nightmare from the get-go. The roof literally had to be taken on and off three times. The non-english speaking crew that they sent out could care less how they put on the panels. They scratched everything up. They missed screws they bent metal , left trash all over my yard all the time Etc. I had framing issues Plumbing issues front door issues and so on. The only reason they got two stars is because they did come out and fix what they needed to fix but come on, do it right the first time. We have front doors now that are warped and because I sold the house to someone else, they will not back up their work. So whatever you do, still tell them you own the house otherwise nothing is covered. God forbid they should back up their work even if it sold to a new person who is now very unhappy. We ordered from them and had to sent back our order 2 times because they couldn't get it right then the garage door broke within 4 months of being put in and it was under warranty with the company and they will not replace it. They have been nothing but trouble. Received a bill and paid it now they send another one saying we owe more money because they forgot to put it on the first bill we paid but yet they still will not replace my door. We was also quoted a price then got the bill only to see the price was higher than the quote because they changed us for cutting the metal which was not in the quote. After calling around other places do not charge for cutting the metal. We will never use them again and will not recommend them. This has been a bad experience all around. read more

Customer service was great in the beginning. Weve had THREE shipments of tin and ALL of them are different colors. Called back for the FOURTH time and now they say theyve done what they can do! Hired "QBS" May 25' to build a standard 3bd/2ba barndo. Will state that our Project Manager, Tim, the Electrician, Daniel, both were stellar. From ownership to delegation they fail to communicate. Jeff Miller, owner, likes to brag that he has 100-600 builds going at once. In our experience, once they get you in the dry, they are no longer concerned with you. QBS gave a completion date of Oct 25'. We moved in Dec 25' due to countless errors on their part. After viewing other reviews, it is apparent QBS is not the contractor & hires all subcontractors. We are under a 1yr build warranty & QBS has yet to finish. It seems Jeff has not read his own contract. Contract states that the builder doesn't get paid in full until they finish the project. QBS continues to send bills with "late fees" attached when we made clear in Nov 25' the last draw will be held until the projects completion. Turn-key apt's you pick every detail, color, item. It is recorded, compiled into PDF & shared with the team. These mistakes were avoidable. We ended up resorting to google translate, printing off instructions for sub-contractors & taping them to the walls inside the build bc QBS sent non-English speaking tradesmen out who we could not communicate with. These workers defecated all over the provided job site porter potty. Tile crew threw a 1/2 eaten pizza inside our new washing machine. Kitchen cabinets arrived wrong. When we caught the mistake we were assured the cabinet measurements were retaken to adjust for the added length needed for the cabinets around a 2x window vs 1x. Cabinets take 8 wks to arrive. We brought this to attention Summer of 25' & are still waiting Jan 26'. Not one wall, baseboard or trim were dusted off prior to painting. Paint drips all over the floors & walls. Debris in every surface within our home. Prior to priming/painting, painters chose to leave blue painters tape & brown kraft paper on surfaces & literally painted tape & paper into every single wall/room/baseboard/trim. Painted the wrong color on all ceilings. Insisted to fix this last, proceeded to paint over recessed lighting. Ran out of black paint & decided to paint the rest of a door grey. Not one wooden/glass door was sanded prior to staining nor were they sealed, stain is uneven. These are exterior doors. Front door is broken, does not lock, still waiting on replacement. Grouted master shower with wrong grout color. Solution was to "dribble/drill" existing grout from between every tile & metal trim. Every tile were broken/scratched. Metal trim scratched/metal shards sticking out. They tried to cover broken tiles with extra grout. Never finished the ceiling within the master shower. Edgework looks horrible. Built shower 4x's. After 3x noticed the shower holding 1/2 in.water, not draining. 4x noticed drain was grouted to floor making it impossible to lift cover in event needed to remove clog. Failed multiple inspections. They claim to build a lot of homes, would assume they are familiar with co. codes. Failed move in inspection. Lack of exhaust fans in baths, not sealing toilets, unfinished firewall from garage to entry of home. Foundation wasn't cleared of debris prior to flooring being laid. Floors cracking from rocks being sealed underneath, areas need replacing. Still finding blue paint tape attached to floors, sealed underneath baseboards. QBS refused to add foundational transitions on every exit, including garage. Jeff Millers response was, "me being demanding won't help" Our new home flooded after only 3wks being in & this is how he chose to reply. Our metal exterior is damaged/scratched from poor handling. The quality of baseboards is engineered wood, not real wood. We learned this when our new home flooded Jan 26' & baseboards swelled, holding water. Refused to place shoe molding anywhere in build tho they chose to leave painters tape/paper in every surface while stating, "custom & quality". Jeff is arrogant, unprofessional & young. QBS took our custom home plans that we designed and paid a private company to draw up and shared them to all of their social media platforms selling our exact house inside and out. On top of that they took photos of our home under false pretenses and shared the pictures of our private residence without our consent! When we contacted them about resolving the issue they did not reach back out, adequately apologize, or take any responsibility for their wrongdoing. They obviously only care about making a dime and not about the privacy or rights of their clients. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! These guys are the worst to work with. The contractor they subbed(Mark Yoder-Legacy Barn Builders) out to build our shop did a shotty job and the insulation is visible from the outside because they didn't put the metal all the way to the top. The contractor said he would fix it if we custom ordered a trim piece that "shouldn't cost us too much". BS. We shouldn't be charged anything extra for them to fix their horrible mess up!! Once our shop was built, the left over lumber we had was picked up by quality building supply and then not credited back to us(over $800). We recieved the wrong door after talking to one of the customer service reps in detail about what we were wanting, and then once they sent a new door it was still not what we wanted and we had to cover the cost for a far more expensive door than we actually wanted for yet another mess up on QBS end of things. Jerrad, the manager is zero help when making things right and denies that he or his guys could ever mess up and didn't make anything right. Now we have a botched shop and are out more money than we should have been if they had credited us for the lumber they came and picked up from our job that we had already paid them for. The manager's explanation for why we would not recieve a credit was because it would cover the cost of extra materials that COULD have been needed on our shop once construction started, but could not tell me what additional items were needed and no one called me during construction to tell me we needed anything extra! SUCH A SCAM! I've custom built three houses and two shops and have always been credited for extra material once It was returned. If you're looking to have a shop built, spend the few extra thousand for a quality shop from somewhere else because Quality Building Supply doesn't actually provide quality anything. Watson Metals built our other shop and they were very professional and pleasant to work with, the only reason we didn't go with them again is because QBS beat their price, so we thought we'd give them a try. I hope whoever reads this will learn from our mistake and spend a little extra to not use QBS. They ended up costing us more in mistakes than we would've paid just going with Watson's or Summertown metals quotes. read more

Beware to anyone thinking of having QBS Build for you. They will lead you to believe they are the General contractor and that they will see out the completion of your building from beginning to end. The truth is QBS has no contractors license they will play you all along the way making promises they don't keep and lying to you over and over to make you believe they know what they are doing. After receiving nearly 170k from me and paying QBS'S hired non licensed contractor nearly 30k QBS walked off the job leaving the building exposed and structurally dangerous to be in. Even after hiring two different licensed engineers they refused to correct the numerous issues QBS created. It has been nearly 3 months and they have yet to make even an attempt to rectify this nightmare they have caused me. Even after receiving letters from my lawyer giving they ample opportunity to correct the issues or to have them reimburse me so I could have a licensed company come to fix it Jeffery Miller has still chosen to not do the right thing. This message is for anyone out there trying to make a decision on who to use to build there home for them they will come in cheaper than the rest and that's why I chose them but the workmanship and integrity of the people running it will wear you to the point of giving up. During the 3 months they worked on my building I spent over a hundred hours of my time trying to deal with all the screw ups along the way. All of this while trying to run 2 businesses, take care of 2 kids, and living in a camper while our new house was being built. Here we are more than 6 months later and not only is my building is sitting leaking water through the roof, wall metal missing all over and in jeopardy of blowing over. They have completely trashed my entire yard left loose metal old wood and nails everywhere. Please do your research before making a such a poor decision like I have. read more

Run away from this business as fast as you can. They will tell you that you are getting one thing and give you another. That's not "misspeaking". It's lying! I don't live where my building is being constructed so I had to trust QBS. That was an epic mistake. My "ramp" into my shop is nothing more than a slab extension. I overlooked it thinking the rest would be better. Nope. Have you ever tried to drive or worse....push your project car up a 6" shear face of concrete? Let me know how that works for ya. The day the framing crew showed up they had no idea what type of construction was required or even what the building was supposed to look like....because they were not supplied with plans. I called and emailed Lo-Quality Building Supply and spoke to their resident expert who assured me that all I had to do was show the framing crew the picture of the building and they would do the rest. Did I mention that although they are hard working and competent builders, they don't speak English? In broken English/Spanish the head framer even asked for plans and was flabbergasted that none had been supplied. Nevertheless, he got to work. Here what that got me. The 6x6 posts that support the awnings hang off the side of the slab because, um...no plans. The pitch of the roof and the awnings is too shallow which not only changes the look of the building but changes the spacing of the upper windows. The picture of the building we requested has light colored soffits, same as the trim. My building....dark soffits. Even though they admit that these problems exist they refuse to correct them. That's a lack of integrity. If you want a lot of frustration, an incorrect structure and and inept staff working on your building then you deserve what you get by dealing with these people. Better to flush your money down the toilet than waste it for a building you didn't order. Go get your building done by someone who actually knows what they are doing and provide what they promise.
