If I could give 0 stars, I would. Before scheduling my appointment, I specifically asked whether my insurance was in-network and was assured by the call center that it was. However, after receiving an x-ray and cleaning, I was unexpectedly charged $100 at checkout. When I questioned this, I was then told that my insurance was actually out-of-network. To make matters worse, a couple of months later I received an additional bill for $236 because my insurance did not cover the services due to being out-of-network. This was extremely frustrating and could have been completely avoided had I been given accurate information from the start. While I did enjoy the staff who performed my cleaning and x-ray, the overall experience was overshadowed by the misinformation and unexpected costs. I feel misled and ended up paying hundreds of dollars for services that could have been fully covered at an in-network provider. Because of this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend any Wilson Martino location in West Virginia. read more

I went in for my regular cleaning in January, and the admin staff and hygienist were excellent. The reason for my 1 star review is due to the doctor. He told me that I needed a crown before he even examined the tooth. Then he spent more time asking me about the stress fracture in my foot than the alleged crown I needed, which after insurance would have cost me over $400. I was skeptical since I am in my early 20's and the tooth was not giving me any problems. I got a second opinion at the WVU dental clinic, and they diagnosed me with a cavity, which could be filled with a simple filling. This was diagnosed by 2 dental students and 2 supervising Drs. I just had the filling done this morning, and when I brought up this office's doctor's diagnosis with the clinic's supervising Dr, she physically recoiled and vehemently said that a crown was no where near necessary. To top off this amazing experience, I received my insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) from that visit, and this office billed for 2 PA xrays that I do not remember being taken. I worked in dental before, so I know which xrays were taken that day and those were not. So in summary, if you don't have any problems and just go in for a cleaning, you will probably have a great experience. But double check your insurance EOB and get a second opinion when in doubt. I will never go back here and will tell anyone I know not to go here. In my experience, the Dr here is either incredibly inept at his job and should not be in dentistry or a scammer. Service at time of visit was fine - not exceptional just fine - but this is a dental practice that definitely tries to scam as much money off of you as possible, overcharges for services and then when your insurance won't pay, even for routine, supposedly covered procedures, they come after you. Unprofessional and unorganized. Went here for a check up (went well) and scheduled a cleaning that I had to wait a couple months for due to them being booked until November. Went to my scheduled appointment today only to find out that they had scheduled someone else in my slot and they said I could reschedule for an appointment in January. No thanks. I went in today for an emergency filling. I had a wonderful experience with Doctor Kassar and her assistant Kaitlyn. They were very friendly and talkative, explaining every step they were doing. They treated me like i was more than just a patient, laughing and talking and making me feel relaxed. This was by far the best dental experience I've had thanks to Dr. Kassar and Kaitlyn. I know others may have had bad experiences but I know when I go back I'll ask to be seen by these 2 personally. read more

I've posted this same review elsewhere, but I wanted to make sure I got it on as many sites as possible to save others from having an experience similar to mine. DO NOT GO HERE! Seriously, please save yourself the trouble, and do not go to this place. This is perhaps the worst dental office I have ever been to. I had some dental work done there recently, and was told beforehand that it would cost me under $200. About a month afterward, I received a bill for almost $400. After trying to contact the office for months and getting random one off answers, I was finally told that my insurance wasn't covering my procedure and that I had to pay the remaining amount. When I asked them why I should be penalized for them telling me the incorrect amount, the woman just told me that she apologized but that they offer a payment plan. Are you kidding me?! Please save yourself the hassle and find another dentist. I wish I would have listened to the reviews that I read. Well, lesson learned on my part. read more

It's been a few years since I've been to Wilson Martino. I would not recommend going there. I had to have some teeth pulled and was told I needed a partial denture. I believed them. The dentist I had was a woman, she seemed ok at first. I didn't have dental insurance and just went through radiation for cancer. I had a mold made and then 5 teeth pulled at once, very brutal dentist. I was told I couldn't leave my front teeth (one was still perfect) she said I had to get them both pulled or the partial wouldn't look right, I'd never be happy with it and from her experience I'd be back complaining all the time. Well, I got my partial, was overwhelmed that it cost over 4000.00 dollars and it looked fake and plastic. I had to go back many times to get it adjusted. I never went back, but I paid my bill in full. It's not right to treat people that way, if I could sue them I would. They over charge and treat you like crap. read more

I was a new patient getting a cleaning and I have pretty good teeth no concerns, it took almost 3 hours for a cleaning! Between the one person doing 50 x-rays then the Hygenist- Shay was her name I think she was very good and pleasant. They put fluoride on without telling me insurance won't cover then did a weird oral cancer screening thing that cost extra which I wasn't told about up front. So my cleaning that is covered by insurance with all the extras cost 78 bucks. Long waits in between X-rays and dentist coming in. Before the appointment I was getting calls/texts/emails every day for the 2 weeks before the appointment as reminders it was very aggressive and they must overbook. I've had a number of issues with this dentist office. Firstly, they overcharge. They tend to do procedures or little things that will rack up the cost of your visit without telling you. My husband, who works in health insurance, noticed that my bills were very high when my insurance should have been paying more. Turns out, Wilson Martino was charging me more than they should have then billed my insurance for the actual amount of the procedure, basically getting double paid or at least paid more. Also, they canceled an appointment the day of because they "hadn't heard from me." Since when is it my job to tell a doctor's office I'm coming to my appointment? I had never missed one appointment ever. My husband also drove from Pittsburgh for an appointment for his Invisalign only to have it canceled the day of while he was on his way. I moved back to Morgantown in April. I was looking for a new dental office for myself and my two small children. At my youngest son's appointment (4 yrs old), I was told that he had two cavities and that he required a sealant procedure. My youngest son has TWO dental coverage plans - a primary and a secondary. I took him back to have the two cavities filled; after the procedure the dentist informed me that I should expect the fillings to fall out because my son didn't stay still. This procedure was in August and I am STILL on a payment plan for the cost (end of November). Again, my son is covered by TWO dental insurance companies. My oldest son had a cleaning and fluoride. His services were free - except for the $178.00 fee that I was charged up front for EACH child. (For a cleaning?!) I never saw that money back. I went in for a cleaning - X-rays were REQUIRED at this appointment. It took HOURS. After the X-ray, a technician talks about oral health and then does a "cancer screening" of your mouth - Not one person explained this procedure or to me or informed me about the additional cost. I was asked to schedule a return appointment for a deep periodontal cleaning because the measurement of my gums was higher or lower than average. I tried to schedule this appointment - $1800.00+ (after insurance). I called once in September to question my payment plan - I had a credit of $98.00? No one contacted me to tell this, they just explained that it is to be used as credit for future dental work unless I call and request a check for reimbursement. I called again in November to question my payment plan - As it stands now, I have a credit of $41.51 on my account? (The exact amount that was just automatically withdrawn from my checking account.) And my youngest son still has a balance of $92.00. So after both insurances companies' payments, his cleaning, fluoride and cavity fill have cost $475.00 out of pocket. I've been afraid of the dentist since being a kid, but I love coming here because I know I'll be taken care of and it gives me a peace of mind. Worse place ever. I have never had such poor customer service in my life. They are rude to anyone who doesn't look or act like them and judge and are even ruder especially the pregnant hygienist who seriously stinks at her job. You say ouch you get " well you have tattoos that should not hurt" bull! the teeth and gums are sensitive when you are poking a sharp object at them. They over charge out of pocket fees and don't charge your insurance. they are rude when you ask to have records transferred to another dentist and give you the run around. They don't bill your insurance correctly. Wilson Martino is one of the worst dentist office I have ever dealt with it. read more

Please consider this a warning to any who are thinking about using this dentist. My family used them for a couple of years, and we noticed a continuous pattern of billing issues, over-billing, and a distinct lack of professionalism with their office managers. The final straw was when I was told my wife needed a crown which later my insurance company as well as an independent dentist reviewer found to be an unnecessary procedure. To this day, over 18 months after the service was performed (which was paid in full) I am receiving bills for additional payment and threats of destroying my credit from them. I opened a case with the BBB against them, and they chose not to respond at all, which only damages their rating on the BBB site. Went in for basic cleaning/checkup. Afterward received bills of over $100 for various procedures not covered. Never happened to me before in decades of going to a dentist. I started seeing dentist in Wilson Martino since 2014, I was told to do deep cleans since they said I have periodontal disease. I postponed multiple times and the last time I postponed I could feel they were mad at me. I cancelled my follow-up appointment and stopped going there. Later on, I kept receiving text message and emails to let me reserve future appointment. I felt they are nice then I did book the appointment to continue. Since I still had some funds in FSA, I did agree to have deep clean at the end of 2015. I called them to check my insurance and get a per-determination before my deep clean. They confirmed that my insurance would pay for deep clean. I paid approx. $100 the day I had the deep clean. Then it turned out the insurance denied the service stating that the deep clean for my periodontal disease was not necessary, and the insurance also had an advisory dentist to review my X-ray and agreed that I should not do deep clean. The next time I went to my routine check, I was told to pay the rest of approx. $400 myself. I felt very upset since as a patient, I do not know the insurance coverage much, my insurance does cover deep clean but need proof that I had bone loss due to periodontal disease. They have the responsibility to check this benefit and make sure we get the necessary service, not the unnecessary one that they get high profit. I would not do any deep clean if I knew my insurance would not cover unnecessary ones. I asked if I pay the rest of the money myself, would be any discount? they told me 5% discount for pay full by cash and 3% discount for credit card, which seems no discount.
