I don't recommend the two nurses that word 3rd ship or the person checking patients in in the ER department.no companion for the patients that was waiting to be seen from my point of view,I reported a patient that was crying in a lot of pain the lady was hurting and cold I asked for blanket for her I was told it's not alot of blankets I felt that was wrong for them to stay that, the lady needed help, they took their time to see patients including myself, no companion for some of the patients,I felt like I didn't received the best care for my visit I will not recommend none to go early in The morning 12am to 5am. pHy,FT and the nurse who gave me a shot) said she order me one meds and gave me something different and the meds did not help me.dont not one to ever go back to Er in Wilson with third shift staff. read more

They are not trained to care for patients My mother suffered here after I had to tell the dr she was given medication by staff that she was allergic too which was even in her chart . Friend was taking by ambulance to ER because he kept falling and ended up not being able to get up and walk. He sat in lobby from 5:30 pm until 12pm. Couldn't walk so he urinated all over the place. Took hrs to get someone to help him in get out of wet clothes and into a scrub. Finally got a bed at midnight in the hallway. They ran tests. Never saw a dr. Nurse said his potassium was really low which could cause serious health issues. Put IV of potassium and took hrs before he could stand and take two steps wobbling. They sent him home. Unexceptable. He should have seen a dr to discuss the tests and how to go forward with low potassium. Unexceptable. Will never go back to ER at Wilson Medical Center. Greenville ER is highly rated so thats where he is going from now on. Have to drive a little further but at least you see a dr before you are released with no instructions or results on tests. read more

I just left the emergency room after not being seen because the nurse was trying to get my labs from drawing my blood but I let her know ahead that I have deep veins .I left simply because I'm use to having to get stuck with the needle more than(I have deep veins) once but her level of inconsiderate comments "I'm not even moving the needle it doesn't hurt"meant I wasn't supposed to complain aboht pain.The assumt that black woman have to endure so much uncomfort and pain is ridiculous read more

This 'medical center' is the worst place I've experienced in my life. Went there for an acute problem my daughter was experiencing. Let's start with the waiting room. After we checked in, I sat down only to quickly find out I was sitting in some kind of 'fluid'. OMG! Disgusting! The waiting room was filthy and run down. It looked like the floors hadn't been cleaned in DECADES. Ok, yes, bad, but let's keep going. After 3 hours we were escorted to, what I thought was a room, but instead we were seated on a gurney in between two rooms. We later discovered a blood stain on the sheet (more on that in a sec). In one room they had a person from the streets going up and down the hall asking for food and going to the bathroom every two minutes. In his room there was trash all overs the floor. He was walking barefoot through the trash, the hall AND the bathroom. I would think there would be a separate ward for people with mental issues. I've had experience with those who are suffering with this disability. I know how unpredictable the situation can be. Moving along... after 2 more hours waiting in the filthy hall. A 'nurse' comes by to get blood from my daughter. Ok, here's where things get worse. The nurse, Richard, proceeds to take her blood WITHOUT GLOVES on. Before I can say anything he stuck her and blood started running down her arm. He didn't even have an alcohol wipe or a piece of gauze ready to catch the blood. He left the rubber tie on her arm, so the blood was careening down her arm. I had to hold up her arm to keep blood from dripping on the sheets (thus, now we know why there was blood on the gurney when we first came in). He was running around trying to find some gauze or something to stop the bleeding. Asking every one, equally un-gloved person that walked by. Meanwhile the staff right in front of us was just sitting there engrossed in their conversation about lunch. When he finally came back, he had gauze, but no Band-Aid. She was still bleeding pretty much, so I fumbled in my purse and found an old Band Aid and put it on her. The wrapping was all worn out, but, the band aid was still good, thank goodness. We're nearing the end... finally the 'doctor' came by, I promise you, I thought he was a patient. He looked like he just came out of a bar. I won't be graphic, but, suffice it to say, I was not getting a "cleanliness vibe" from him. Anyway, he asked her a couple of questions and that was it. He said nothing was in the bloodwork and it'll be a follow-up. Bang! $2700!! You would be better off driving to Wendell to their Emergency center. Which we did the next day. Please, please don't waste your time here. Your life may depend on it. read more

The procedure from beginning to end was exemplary, the nurses, the anesthesiologist and Dr. Chand, all were incredibly proficient and professional. It was gratifying to get a phone call from Veronica, RN, a few days after the procedure. Little did I know there was a tiny complication. It was discovered through her in-depth questioning. A doctor (sorry, I don't have his name), recommended an increase in my medication. read more

Please do not let your family be admitted here. My sister was admitted during Covid and never left there alive. My sister was placed on Oxegon and due to them being short staffed as they claimed my sis was found deceased on the floor after cries for help. No one there could tell us how she ended up on the floor and lay there for over an hour because her nasal Oxegon had fallen out of her nose. They tried to tell us she pulled it out bunch of liers. She had been there so long her brain had liquified.My sister loved life and believed in God and would never harm herself she had no reason too. She had a daughter and grand bby she loved dearly. As I begin to seek help with an investigation into her death they sealed her records. We lost her now going on four years and no one will come forth with the truth. They put her on life support after they knew she was gone to cover their tracks. Do not go here if you wanna live. God saw what happened and the day of judgement you all will be held accountable for a life stripped away from loved ones. read more

Dirty, Understaffed, rude, unprofessional & impatient travel nurse staff. Elderly father sat in emergency room for almost 3 days - ignored - with a broken hip. Following surgery, absolute failure of staff to execute doctor's orders. A complete nightmare of a facility. Their discharge plan was to send a previously independent person to their sister (Urine soaked) nursing home for admission. We were lucky to escape Wilmed before they broke the patient's spirit or bank account. read more

I guess it is a good hospital in a somewhat rural area. Not surfer high tech or fancy, but adequate and meets the needs of many folks with medical situations. Some of the staff are amazingly competent and kind. Others... well, they are just kinda doing their job. It is hard to see a lived one suffer, and to feel like professionals are not motivated to ease the pain asap. No one should be medically agitated or scared or hurting if there is a way to relieve any of that, and it should be done timely. Still - the care provided is skilled and most folks do seem to genuinely care. read more

Mum was admitted to the ED Friday after a Vasa-Vagel episode. She is almost 81. They took superb care of her. Her ED nurse Chase, was terrific, and after asessment got her in a room in 30 minutes. She was there until today, Sunday, until they ran every applicable test for major organs. Stellar customer service from the nursing staff: Carmen, Brandy, and Rebecca. Housekeeping, Dietician and PT(Faith) were amazing. Mum had great thorough doctors, they took their time with her, with my questions and with her care and follow up. This hospital is clean, organized, caring, comfortable and would be my choice if I needed care. read more

First i want to say this is the worst hospital i have ever been too . I got into a car crash Christmas of 2022 and the EMT took me to the hospital. I had to wait in the emergency room for 2 hours before i even went back and they only took blood. I waited 5 hours to get a cat scan. It was 13 Hours before i left the hospital.I could have had internal bleeding. There was this one lady that was having a seizure and that the only time they rushed her into the ER even though she was having symptoms. I understand it was Christmas day and they were short staffed but they shouldn't leave a patient waiting for 13 hours . If you do go here i wish you the best. read more

My mother arrived at this place with a broken hip. The hospital Refused to administer her current medications , said it was their " protocol ". They refused to give her Gabapentin for neuropathy and her fluid pills that she takes for congestive heart failure. My mother is over 80 yrs old. She was doing well until she broke her hip and came here. She was transported from this place due to having a stroke in this hospital. It only took staff 14 1/2 hrs to get my mother transfered an hr away. BTW , she was not given any pTA to resolve the clot that caused the stroke due to holding blood thinners too long before surgery. We requested transfer from this place 2 times in the ER but we were met with rudeness when we made the request. read more

I've never written a review but I had to this time... I was just stopping to visit a friend who had been admitted but after reading TJ's review I thought I'd grab lunch... Seems it has been taken over by an outside company since she wrote her review because I was under-impressed. The salmon looked good but had absolutely no taste, nor did the rice... and the mac and cheese...well it must have been made by a Yankee...or out of a box because it was inedible. And I won't have to walk the track to burn calories as she suggested because I RAN to the bathroom immediately after eating... So no thanks, I will visit but not eat again. I just hope the in-room service is better for my buddy who is stuck here for a while. read more

Do not come to the mental health side if u need mental care i came and I was traumatized as the mental health patients are allowed to roam around and not be in rooms... there are no locks on doors patients start screaming and damaging things u had to literally hide in the corner for fear of my life u also cannot lock the door to the bathroom or showers...at night at a specific time should be a lockdown but there is none what a shame.... read more

I was in the emergency room the day after Thanksgiving. DO NOT go to this ER. The PA I saw was rude. After five minutes of her complaining about having to work holidays, she misdiagnosed me and refused to give me an antibiotic that I was not allergic to. My discharge instruction said to return if certain things occurred and those things were exactly what I was there for in the first place. I took the prescription for the antibiotic she was willing to prescribe (I desperately needed antibiotics to breath) and dosed Benadryl to counteract the hives/ allergic reaction and went to my regular doctor on Monday. This PA should have her license revoked before she kills someone. She took an oath that states to do no harm and she could have killed me. I filed a complaint with the hospital and have been playing phone tag with Ms. Sorenson, which tells me they don't really care. Of course I have received all of the bills I am expected to pay even though she could have killed me and I had to spend more out of pocket to go to doctors to counteract her harm. My doctor has suggested I report her to NC Medical Board. Again DO NOT go to this hospital- DO NOT let your loved ones go there either. I would rather die at home with no help then be mistreated or killed at this hospital read more

Never go to this hospital. We did the ER once, disaster. Then we tried to do a procedure my doctor had scheduled there and when we got there the referral did not go through correctly? So we had to pay full price? The doctor & the hospital could not communicate so the patient had to pay? Then when we circled back to the hospital - four times! I've had 4 different people say they will have Jim call me. Whoever Jim is he never calls back. 2 weeks now, he must be the busiest man I know of! I can only hope that he becomes less busy By someone that can dial a phone. I think my options are to go to the news media, or go and sit at Jim's door. Will probably find out that Jim is the janitor read more

Worst hospital, especially ER, in NC. Sad. No communications when people voluntarily check in for mental health service. Very sad for the Wilson community. So many of the ER nurses sit on their butts, instead of constantly communicating with patients. Who is the RN supervisor? Whoever she is she should be relieved of her duties. Not going to lie I generally have a morbid dread of hospitals. But I've got to say the cafeteria at WilMed has some great offerings. And Cheap!! Salad bar is super fresh, grill cooks up burgers made to order and the hot lunch offerings smell delicious and servings are huge. Since I'm in the vicinity often I will be back again for lunch. Added bonus, there's a 1/4 mile track in the front you can walk off dessert! read more

Not civil,, treated like animals ,,lined on walls or halls suffering sick people and overlooked and not checked on,, it's truly not way humans should be treated! The staff not nice,, chaos from time you arrive til the 12 hours you sit and not seen ,,,what do you call that? A nurse give you IV solution and takes hours for that slow drip to empty but even during , no one checks on you and when bag finishes no one to remove needle, instead told there's no nurse to remove the needle,, unbelievable, my daughter had to find gauze to remove!!!! Wilson community medical center in Wilson NC is the worst hospital I have ever been in. I have been in city hospitals in ny but this hospital gets 0 stars for its overall rating. I wouldn't even take or send my dog here. My mother died here. She was an alert oriented woman who lived alone and went in for a uti. They put her into pulmonary over load by giving her fluids, Obviously not monitoring her while infusing her with fluids. She had a heart issue. She ended up in ICU. The nurses are travel nurses and most inexperienced!! for ICU. They must come from the nursing school nearby and get their experience here on patients Who eventually die. My mother was not monitored properly.by anyone person at this disgusting hospital Nurse Janice on stepdown had no pep in her step when we needed help as my mother became diaphoretic. There wasn't a nurse around or nurse Janice from Florida to be found in an emergency, no rapid response called. Their machines do not work, blood pressure and cardiac. Monitors not working . And they say they r a cardiac step down unit. i have not seen a step down cardiac unit with broken machines that are not properly working . The doctors do not listen or care for their patients , as even after you agree on medications they change them anyway and do what they want without reading your chart.or are fully clear on your history. They lie in their notes to cover their own ass. There is a Dr Kovorkian nurse on the night shift who had said she will drug my mother to die.and that it would take about 3 hours. She ssaid this to my brother and I as we were so emotional witnessing my mother decline and die struggling for air before our eyes. They do not respect your patient rights. They let my mother suffocate before our eyes and had no intervention for hours!!!! My mother was put in hand mitts for taking off her oxygen with no intervention taken. She was removing her oxygen because she was struggling for air. and was becoming confused. I had to beg them to please give her something to calm her as she knew she could not breathe. The ICU nurse during her dying moments was giving her vitamins as she stated to us as , we Iwatched my mother dying unable to swallow at this moment , and i watched the nurse shove applesauce in my mother's mouth The applesauce came pouring outing out , because my mother had no gag reflux. She was dying. This nurse was suppose to be an experienced Icu nurse. Are you kidding me!! Perhaps one day this nirse will experience this disgusting care with her own family members . As this horror my brother and I witnessed.from Her is a vision we cannot forget!! . The stupidity of these professionals is disgusting for the hospital to hire them upon belief to take care of ppl. We agreed with my mothers doctor to help her with a certain drug conferring with another cardiologist. We tried to question and be on top of everything concerning my mothers care , but I guess the medication Entresto we agreed upon by the Physiciians , either was unavailable or too expensive for this hospital , although I am sure they billed my mothers Medicare for plenty. They gave her Amiodorine Thank DrMaHood ! You put my mother into toxicity with your drug that wasn't good for her. She died. She was allergic to iodine. And was extremely sensitive to meds. Thank u for never calling us. Or letting us know that you would be giving my mother this very dangerous drug out of the icu setting. Your hospital and physicians amust look at anyone above 75 as disposable . I never witnessed such poor medical care in my life !! no one seemed to know what to do . You get different physicians all through your care.at this hospital . It makes the hospital less liable for the physicians mistakes. You get Inconsistent care!!!!! Your patient rights are not considered they just want you to sign the Dnr and be done with and not respectYOUR wishes. You have no resident rights. I will never forget this horrible hospital. The disgusting care my mother received. Was unfair to let her suffocate with no intervention until we begged you to vent her. we Hope you lose some sleep at night as we do , remembering her disgusting Poor care she received. We should have known , but unfortunately we didn't, we see you Receuve a 1.8 rating.for your hospital. As say your affiliated with Duke medical center. How this hospital stays open is beyond me. I wouldn't even give then 1 star but you cannot submit any review without a rating. The most horrible experience I have ever had at a hospital. I was there for 6 nights and then sent home with absolutely no diagnosis of why my hemoglobin dropped so low I needed 2 blood transfusions. Even though I brought my prescription bottles from home and showed them to the staff, I learned on my 6th day that they had been giving me 100 mg of my anti depressant drug instead of the 200 mg I have been on for 5+ years. They were totally unconcerned about the impact of reducing a dose by 1/2 has on a patient. They shrugged their shoulders and said, ok I'll call the doctor & have the pharmacy send up another 100 mg. I was 'tagged' as a fall risk and told I was always to ask for help to go to the bathroom. On one of the days they gave me a 'water pill', I called for help and 2 1/2 hours later they showed up to help Heart monitor leads came off and I called twice for nurses. No response until 6 hours later when they ran in and said the 'desk' was going crazy because they couldn't see anything on my monitor. Just how concerned could they be after waiting 6 hours??? My IV failed during a blood transfusion and blood leaked all over the sheets I was laying on. I repeatedly asked for the sheets to be changed but it took them 3 days to finally change them. The bedside toilet they asked me to use my first day (with their help) was not emptied for 4 days!!! There were many other issues I encountered but I know the issues above nor will any other issues ever be addressed or corrected. read more

I came in for chest pains that started to occur off and on for the past hour.. waited in there for a full hour before I got up to ask how long of a wait until I was seen and the receptionist told me 11 people were waiting in front of me.. they did a EKG on me and told me to go back out in the waiting room and they'll call me.. didn't tell me if my EKG was abnormal or even normal just told me to go out and wait.. like while I'm having CHEST PAINS.. nothing but black people and Hispanics and the white peoples were getting pulled to the back left and right.. ILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS HOSPITAL AND THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE STAFF! HORRIBLE! read more

By far the worst hospital visit i ever experienced didn't do a urine sample, no blood work just looked at me & from what i expressed about my pain she assumed i only had a sinus infection which to me how would u be sure if u never took any other precautions to further see what was really wrong with me i would say no star at all but they insist on a rating this is beyond pathetic. read more

EMERGENCY ROOM is dreadful. My family has used this ER three times, and all times it was awful. They do not triage here, or give any preference to children or appearance of severity of issues....it seems to be first come, first serve. Our most recent visit we waited for nearly 2 hours in the lobby, with a child holding a compression rag on his face to stop bleeding. One other lady seemed to have broken ribs and was in a lot of pain, sat on the floor for the same amount of time we were there. Other than that it was a room full of people playing on their phones, eating Bojangles picnic style, talking with their friends and family, that appeared to be there for non-urgent issues (yes, I realize some injuries/issues are not visible, but I overheard conversations re: many of the reasons for visits). They had ONE nurse doing intake and triage who was very nice, that apologized profusely, but told us it would at least another hour wait after she sent us back to the waiting room after taking weight and blood pressure. When we were taken back, we were treated by a NP student (who told us it was their first night) and did not yet have the keys or access to carts that held medical supplies (I used non-sterile papertowels in the room to continue to dab/apply pressure to my sons wound). Supervising doctor who popped in briefly was very nice....but did not assist in gluing of the face wound (which I would think might be helpful to avoid, what will now be, a pretty significant scar). Staff is and was very kind.....but staffing itself was dreadful. Duke's ER is NIGHT and DAY different/better....they run out and help/triage injured little ones immediately. In the future, will drive an extra 40 min to the ER in a different city...in any direction, doesn't matter which. read more

Dr. Martinez, the ER physician that was working during our visit was the most uncaring, rude and unprofessional doctor I have ever met. He has no sense of patient privacy whatsoever and basically told my 17 year old son to "suck it up" after breaking his clavicle in a dirt bike accident the day prior. Unacceptable. read more

I was there for a heart problem and the nurse treated me like a piece of meat, jabbing me with the needle until I had bruises up my wrist and arm, leaving the blood pressure wrap on my arm until it turned purple because it wasn't working properly. To add insult to injury, I was there for 1 day and the bill was over $14,000. They billed my insurance $13,000 and still wanted to bleed me for the other $1,000.
