Dr. Sachdeva stepped in to take care of my oversight, which meant adding me into his schedule before his full day started and continuing to provide professional, informative support until I was able to get through it. During that time, I felt the most vulnerable and fragile, and his steady, calm presence gave me trust. Thank you Dr Sachdeva. I also want to thank the team of radiologists. I was in shock, denial and I was mad at the World including Dr Lo for relaying the bad news based on something he had nothing to do with. I am not the easiest guy to deal with, in fact I'm anything but easy and at that point in 2018 I didn't like or trust any Dr. as close to 50 years earlier at 4 years old I almost died at Kaiser in Sacramento Ca. As they misdiagnosed appendicitis for Ammonia. I survived that event but I still remember it and it scarred me for life about going to a Dr. for anything medical until Dr Lo came into my life 50 years later. I admit it was the best Christmas any 4 year old has ever had due to having the most Loving, caring and giving parents any human could ever have! He took the time to listen to us and we felt his sincerity at wanting to help us get the best care possible. He was upfront and honest with us about her lung cancer which was incurable and even coordinated a referral to UCSF for a second opinion/clinical trial option. Unfortunately, she wasn't a trial candidate and she was treated locally under Dr. Lo's care. At each point in the journey, he was open and honest about the options and whether they were in keeping with her goals (prioritizing quality of life over quantity). She was able to live a year with good quality of life and we were grateful for every moment we had with her. We are grateful for his compassionate care and especially to his team of infusion nurses who took such wonderful care of our mom!

I saw Dr. Diane Kwan in June 2025 for a suspected hernia above my belly button. She diagnosed an…read moreumbilical hernia and confirmed it with an ultrasound, which clearly identified the hernia in the exact area where I had pain and a visible bulge. She performed surgery in October 2025, but I received no post-op communication from Dr. Kwan. I had to proactively call with concerns when the bulge remained. At my follow-up, the issue was still present, and a CT scan later confirmed the hernia had not been repaired. Dr. Kwan then admitted she had repaired a different hernia during surgery and missed the one that was originally diagnosed and causing my symptoms. I was never informed before or after surgery that the correct hernia had not been addressed or that a new/different one was present. I only learned this weeks later after raising concerns myself. This experience was extremely concerning and disappointing, both in terms of the surgical error, lack of communication, and now the need for repeat surgery.

Two years post-surgery, I'm continually amazed by the results. My recovery was remarkably smooth--I…read morehealed much faster than expected and avoided the awful symptoms I'd researched online.
