They said they didn't know what caused it, but that it definitely was not caused by the treatment they had given me. Both Dr. Pillai and Dr. Tong remained hostile toward me because I doubted their professional opinion. I have a new oncologist now. All of my doctors now attribute my new diabetes as a side effect from cancer treatment. I was right. It was obvious. These two doctors are some very disturbed men who become aggressive and adversarial if their poor skills are questioned and the poor skills do abound. I am convinced I would be dead if I had continued to be treated by Epic Care in Antioch. I swear that I am speaking the truth. If you value your life then you need to stay away from these strange men.

I'll try to be…read morebrief, but there is a lot to say about this exceptional physician, not to mention the exceptional staff. Long story short, I've fought metastatic prostate cancer for 5 years. I've typically only followed about 50% of what oncologists have suggested, much less so after the initial year. My case is "unusual" nor has it seemed to follow a normal pattern for aggressive PCa and since my goals are a bit different than many men's goals and that I'm younger than most PCa survivors, I'm not like treating someone 70 or 80 years old. Dr. Chao, aside from being really good at what he does {I mean REALLY GOOD at what he does}, is in the top 6 or so physicians (PCPs included) in my life in terms of understanding, humanity and compassion. He listened to my fears and anxieties. He took them seriously. We jointly figured out how to address them and he got the SpaceOAR gel implanted as well as 4 fiducial markers placed in my prostate. Now I can move forward with radiation therapy that will improve my quality of life. I may have Dr. Chao and his eminently qualified staff do my radiation, but I may also have another RadOnc and staff do it.....to which my friend and physician, Dr. Chao, said think about it because while we can do your particular short series here, this other clinic might suit your needs better. Regardless, we're here for you. That's the kinda guy Dr. Kenneth Chao is. I've never gotten the impression that he cared about anything other than treating me with the utmost, thought, professionalism, skill and empathy. And he did so and did so seemingly masterfully. Then there is his office staff who did a great job of staying on top of all this until it was approved. All of them so kind, so understanding, so patient. 5 stars. Yup. And I don't do that lightly. The interactions I had with the surgery department felt rushed and, at times, condescending, with little empathy or understanding shown. Many of the ones they prescribe are highly addictive and actually increase or worsen your condition. They also will mix many different prescriptions that have never been tested together. What they do is irresponsible and should be criminal. They have ruined many lives with over prescribing and addicting patients with absolutely no plan to ever deprescribe. Dr. Seibert spoke to us within an hour, by telephone, his calm & confident voice alone seemed to ease some of the pain & anxiety. Within 12 hours surgery began & 45 minutes later (he was exact on the time estimate) he was done. Again, he made the situation so comfortable we almost forgot how serious it could be. He was honest and detailed in describing the pros, cons, and expectations. His genuine care and concern for our loved one's well being after the fact is why I would give 10 stars if I could.
