I encountered an environment that was unprofessional and lacking in basic respect and kindness. Despite my ability to work well with a wide range of personalities and teams, I was met with hostility and poor treatment by members of my department. I believe everyone deserves a workplace culture rooted in mutual respect, and that was not my experience here. That said, I walked away with an important lesson: some situations are not worth fighting for, and protecting your own well-being must come first.

This is such a difficult job, dealing with patients who quite often won't be around too long, but the nurses, assistants and doctors all tried everything that my insurance would approve. There were a lot of times that treatments or procedures were denied. My wife's cancer was vicious and aggressive. She tried every probably every chemo or immunotherapy on the market, did radiation multiple times, did infusions, had surgeries, and they always did their best to keep her truthfully informed, and keep her spirits up, even when the news wasn't good. Now my wife generally hates going to the doctor, but a trip to Diablo Valley was more like talking with friends for her. Now I will say to ask questions, and get all copies reports for yourself, so you can go home, and read and learn about what is happening. I think it was difficult doing this, but made everything make sense about what was happening. When you have a little knowledge about your treatment and conditions, the decisions are much easier to make in my opinion. I will miss my wife more than I can explain, but I truly believe they did their best to take care of Jerusha. Rest In Peace.

Dr. Tang was caring yet firm, understanding and thorough. We tested and evaluated, and then settled on a course of treatment. Since Mom is 88 years old, Dr. Tang was concerned about the treatments themselves causing harm. We started slowly, at less than full dose, ramping dosage as Mom found she was able to tolerate the chemotherapy. Throughout it all, Dr. Tang was supportive, involved, concerned, and professional. She gave us encouragement and positivity when the treatment regimen was challenging, and reveled with us when Mom's PET scan came back negative. Dr. Tang truly invested herself in Mom's treatment, and it made a huge difference in her outcome. There is no question about recommending Dr. Tang - if you have been diagnosed with cancer, there is no better physician with the proper blend of medical expertise and professional care mixed with kindness and understanding.

While this disease affects millions, it doesn't always register to us, that people are battling this disease, daily, hourly, and in most cases, for years, until it becomes personal. That is also the case for my partner. We are incredibly grateful that Dr. Sirott took the time to be honest, direct and sensitive, to my partner's overall care, from day one, until even now, 3 years later. It is astounding to watch so many people, literally, put their lives, in the hands of a few, and watch them be free from their burden, with this disease. Even though my partner is not pain free, after undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and a variety of other experiences, we are incredibly happy with the results, and the professionalism and care he received. He is still dealing with neuropathy, as a result of the chemo but Dr. Sirott has continually studied his case, provided detailed information on treatment options and never treats us as a "number". He remembers our names, asks about our family, and really gets to know his patients, on a deep and meaningful level. We could not have asked for a better team or care guardian. We feel incredibly lucky, especially in lieu of how many lose this fight, but we firmly believe, Dr. Sirott, is at the forefront of our success story.

It's been a battle for almost 5 years when I first met Dr. Lo at which point he had to give me the news that no one wants to hear, "You have Colon Cancer Stage 3" Dr Lo explained to me I had about a 30 % chance of surviving. I was in shock, denial and I was mad at the World including Dr Lo for relaying the bad news based on something he had nothing to do with. I am not the easiest guy to deal with, in fact I'm anything but easy and at that point in 2018 I didn't like or trust any Dr. as close to 50 years earlier at 4 years old I almost died at Kaiser in Sacramento Ca. As they misdiagnosed appendicitis for Ammonia. I survived that event but I still remember it and it scarred me for life about going to a Dr. for anything medical until Dr Lo came into my life 50 years later. I admit it was the best Christmas any 4 year old has ever had due to having the most Loving, caring and giving parents any human could ever have! And his staff at Epic Care for your knowledge, skills, professionalism, patience and not giving up on me when I about died from riding my bike to Chemo on a hot summer day to receive treatment. "I new I could do it" Just like getting through treatments from Dr Lo Dr Lo had a hill to climb and put up with a lot of s*** (stuff) from a hard bitter patient but his intelligence, experience, hard work ethic, great staff, calm confident demeanor, easy to talk to and good listening skills as well non pushy and humble personality has molded him as my "Favorite Doctor All Time" You earned it Dr Lo! Unfortunately, she wasn't a trial candidate and she was treated locally under Dr. Lo's care. At each point in the journey, he was open and honest about the options and whether they were in keeping with her goals (prioritizing quality of life over quantity). They don't return calls and don't process referrals timely all the while the patients suffer. The doctor and staff should not work with terminally ill patients as they can't quickly and efficiently get them the care and comfort they need. She had her supervisor Rochelle call and berate us for simply stating 'I hope when you're family member has cancer they receive better care than we have here'. Instead of being understanding and realizing the patients they treat are dealing with life and death they choose to be rude and confrontational. If you are referred to this doctor or facility I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO SEEK TREATMENT ELSEWHERE. Examples of poor care that borderlines sheer neglectand malpractice: 7/28 met with Dr. Robles due to issues catching breath. Dr. Robles was there so we refused to leave until further tests were done. Dr. Robles ran new tests and admitted that her cancer has progressed in the lungs. Dr. Robles advised that she would need to start chemotherapy. 8/12 appointment with Dr. Robles regarding chemotherapy treatment. 8/17 and 8/20 calls to office following up for scheduling chemo- no call back 8/24 left two messages in the morning with no call back. Other patients may have a differing experience with Dr. Rahman, but this review is from my family's own personal experience. Once again, this review does not speak for the experience other patients. My late mother Claire was a diagnosed with stage three lung cancer and was being treated by Dr. Rahman. My mother could not walk short or long distances because she was having difficulty breathing. From what I understand Dr. Rahmman did not provide my mother with a handicap placard for her vehicle; making it difficult for her to access businesses. My mother had previously beaten breast cancer over 20 years ago. So when it came time to chemotherapy, mom completed her treatment and was putting up a good fight. She was also receiving immunotherapy. In spite of her positive progress, our mother had difficulty breathing. My mother eventually could not walk because she could not breathe. Dr. Rahman knew my mother was being treated for lung cancer, but did not prescribe an oxygen tank for her to use until my brother pleaded with Dr. Rahman to prescribe one for her. One would think an oxygen tank would be one of the first items prescribed for a lung cancer patient. One early morning in 2018 my brother found my mom collapsed in the restroom. My brother escorted her to the living room. My brother attempted to communicate with my mother, but my mother was unable to communicate because Dr. Rahman prescribed Ambien. My mom could not breathe and passed away in my brother's arms. In my opinion my mother did not receive the best care from Dr. Rahman. After speaking with other medical professionals, we believe that our mother passed away from a blood clot because she could not walk due to shortness of breath. We were told informed by family members in the medical industry that blood thinners may have helped and possibly would have l prevented a blood clot from forming. My brother and I wondered how an oncologist would neglect to warn us of potential blood clots. Why wasn't our mother given a handicap placard or an oxygen tank? It's been 4 years and our lives are not the same, but I finally have the strength to write this review. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, and her birthday in August are all very painful days that no longer bring us joy. Writing this review will not bring our mother back, but I feel it is necessary to share our experience if others are seeking treatment from an oncologist.
