There is a good saying that says that people will forget what you said, people will even forget what you did but people will never forget how you made them feel. Therefore, I am giving a 1 star review due to the business owner bullying me and attempting to shame me for lying and being a bad payer, whereas I pride myself in being a man of my word and always paying all my bills on time, as all my credit reports can attest. For perspective, the owner lost his temper for a difference of opinion about $800 while I had spent nearly $30,000 with his company. I will be doing more landscaping projects in the future but it goes without saying that I will give my business somewhere else. Needless to say I ended up paying the $800 upon hanging up despite how rude he was. Before I get into the specifics of my disagreement with the business owner, I want to give a shout out to the crew that performed a relatively major rainwater drainage project at my house, including project manager Mike. The crew was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. However, the business owner had no empathy nor good long term business sense when it came to a quick follow-up concern I had. In the coming days and weeks after the project had been performed, I noticed that while the major water problem had been resolved, a newly created minor problem had started with water getting trapped on uneven ground. While I can't prove it was a collateral issue created by heavy machinery in my backyard, it was reasonable to think the two were not entirely unrelated. In any event, despite the owner not taking any accountability for the collateral damage and not providing any financial incentive to proceed with the follow-up job, I decided to move forward with the follow-up statement of work which was around 5% of the larger original project. I should have seen this as a red flag. Before I effectively signed the contract, I had a conversation with the business owner given that I was surprised about the estimated bill. While there is always a chance my recollection is inaccurate, I am close to being certain that the owner stated to me that the proposal was an estimate, and that we would settle on actual man hours as opposed to the not binding estimate. While I am doubtful I am wrong in this case, let's leave that possibility out there for good measure. After what I recall was a reassuring conversation with the business owner, I signed the contract they sent me without reading the fine print, which was a major mistake on my end, again assuming we were working together based on verbal agreement and given that the initial experience was positive so far. Once the crew came to my property, work was finished in 2.5 hours by two men, while the estimate was more in line with a full day of work for the same two men. I realize that there is additional labor due to loading materials, driving etc ... Once I received the invoice asking me to pay the remaining 50% (initial 50% was due as a deposit), I inquired about it over email and was told I signed a contract and needed to honor it. I then read the contract and realized how naive I had been, but thought the owner would recall our conversation. Once we connected, he stated that the opposite happened and that I was the one who didn't feel comfortable with an unknown amount of man hours. He also used the contract as his line of defense, which he is entitled to and legally right. I knew I had no recourse but wanted him to show some empathy and explain why the contract was different from our conversation, or even why I misunderstood him originally. I perhaps wanted him to put himself in my shoes of someone who had spent $30,000 with his services and was surprised about a $800 nickel and diming. He then got defensive, lost his temper and attempted to make me feel like a man who doesn't pay his bills. Even if I was wrong, he could have and should have been polite and respectful. read more

I loved working with Wilson's Natural Landscaping. Brandi is the best and always kept us informed. Chad did a great job with recommendations and working with us to get just the right fit for our needs and our budget. Mike and his crew removed a small stand of trees and planted multiple privacy trees. they took care to ensure the quality of the trees before planting and added the good soil and fertlizer to ensure a successful planting. I will recommend Wilson's to everyone. read more

Disaster! Use at your own risk. Patchy trees and cut power. Horrible customer service. Where to begin. Let me start at the end. My $8,000 Magnolia trees are bare and patchy, they cut the power line to my house and will not return my phone calls! I contracted Chad to install 4 large magnolia trees for privacy. Chad INSISTED that they install the water drip lines to ensure proper water levels for the trees or they would not warranty the trees. They charged me top dollar to add bubbler simple nozzles! 6 months later my trees are bare and dying, they send an arborist who said that whoever put in the drip line did so inadequately. Then why INSIST to add the drip line yourself? I can't make this stuff up. Arborist said he 'bets' they recover in a season or two?! Also, they nicked the power line when they installed the trees, it corroded and power was lost 2 1/2 weeks ago. The power company had to dig around one of the trees to replace the cut line. I lost a fridge and freezer full by the lack of care they used on the install. Chad refused to call me back about this. The office manager said if Chad gets any downtime he will call me. Since when is cut power and customer service followup suitable only for downtime. Sounds like someone who spends all their time looking for new customers and not relationship building with existing. Chad has not returned any of my phone calls for 2 weeks about this. Not that we disagree, THE COMPANY HAS REFUSED TO CALL ME despite half a dozen calls and another half dozen emails. The lack of professionalism is telling, use these guys at your own peril! Funny, when they wanted my business, all my calls were answered. When they wanted the balance for the job (despite changing the terms from quote to contract) they had no problem getting on the phone. Time to stand behind your work? CRICKETS! read more

Received a flyer in the mail and after I gave all of my information was informed that there was an $89 fee to look at the project refundable if they did the work. Suppose their design is not what we want we are out $89. I will never pay for an estimate, if you want the work it takes 15 minutes to look over the property. This should have been disclosed right up front and I would not have gone any further with it. read more

DO NOT USE. BEWARE!!! HE WILL RIP YOU OFF AND NOT FOLLOW THE CONTRACT. HE WILL TAKE CASH/CHECK ONLY FOR A REASON. Check other reviews like mine. Chad performed services for me in October 2017. It was a very unpleasant experience. Chad seems knowledgeable. However, he pulls a bait and switch. He came out, drew a plan, and I never heard from him again until I had problems with the additional costs he charged us. They did not come out and spray as agreed. When I asked I was told "well, it has rained so the ground is soft. Digging up the grass will be better". I voiced my concerns, but let it go. (I'm now dealing with grass in the beds since they did not kill the roots) The day of the installation, they were short one person. In addition, Chad had not provided them a copy of the plan. They were trying to decipher the install from their phones. They kept asking me how the bed was supposed to be designed, what plants go where, etc. I called Elaine and expressed misgivings about the people doing the install and asked where Chad was. She said he wouldn't be coming. I took a day off work to manage the project--to the point of moving plants and boulders myself. I also discovered that agreed upon plants were not provided. He switched them out without asking and manged to choose perennials that I do not like. I insisted that the correct plants be used. I called Elaine yet again and was argued with about how they were hard to find, etc. Then, why include them on a plan? When the installers finished, they agreed to come back the next day with the correct plants. In addition, I told them verbally I wasn't happy with the shape of the bed. I signed the form they asked me to sign and noted the missing plants. I again called Elaine and told her the bed shape wasn't correct. She said they would rework it at no charge. This was in writing as well. Next day, the correct plants appeared. I spent yet another day off work helping them because they still didn't know what to do. They redid the bed shape to what Chad designed originally and apologized to my husband that they did it incorrectly. The installer also told us that they had to redo the all the edging because the guy from the previous day didn't know how to do it. They finished and gave us a bill that was $1000 more than the agreed upon work. I called Chad and asked him and he said he would only "retweak" the bed at no charge and they had to re-edge the whole thing so I had to pay for it. I explained to him that Elaine said it would done to exact specifications no charge. Plus, the installers said they were correcting their errors!! He said that she wasn't at liberty to agree to that. (They have a good cop/bad cop routine down quite well.) We finally got tired of arguing with him and just split the difference and ended up paying $500 more just to get him out of our lives. Fast forward to spring! Of the 10 plants that were brought the next day? All but 2 have died. None of the encore azaleas bloomed in the fall or this spring. They have a guaranteed window of replacing plants. I contacted them three weeks ago within this guarantee. No response. This was the final straw for me and has led to writing multiple reviews in hopes of saving others from this disreputable company. read more

Buyer beware !! Another customer service disaster! Check other reviews with same problem. Good luck having any emails or phone calls returned after you have paid them. Job was completed (on their time frame not mine) last year. They may claim plants are warrantied for one year but only at their discretion. Doesn't matter that you send multiple photos of the dead (very expensive) plant as absolute proof. Make sure you read the contract ! Work and materials that were agreed upon suddenly changed again and again with the blame placed on me. Not gonna use this company again for sure. Guess they don't care. read more

NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!! First I'm mad at myself for not reading these reviews. I'm usually pretty good at doing that. Also, I talk to a previous customer for a reference, however my experience working for a company that had to provide references, I should have know that they will give you a customer who had a good experience. I used Wilson's Landscaping at my new home to put in new shrubs, mulch, river rock etc. in November 2018. Four months later two of the shrubs died. I called several times had to leave messages over a few weeks. Nancy (bless her heart) finally called back, I submitted pictures. I was told because I did not have an irrigation system (per their contract) that they would not replace the two shrubs. The water could not have been the issue because none of the other several shrubs did not die. They wanted to charge me additional money ($200) to replace them after I had already paid $11,000. They thought they were doing me a favor by waiving the labor charge. For good customer service, good reviews, repeat business, referrals and good faith they should have replaced for free. That $200 is costing them more by not getting future business from me as I have a lot more projects and I would never refer them to anyone. Use this business at your own risk because it sounds like their good service is hit or miss. read more

This company is not reputable . Spent over $11,000.00 for drainage work and plantings. Chad the owner came out twice and designed the drainage system. It continually overflows washing out our back yard. They refuse to correct this faulty design. Now a 7' tall Arborvitae in a different area has died and they want $600.00 to replace it.
