Honestly, didn't disappoint. One gentleman in the front of the house, taking orders, serving drinks & food. He was quite masterful. He not only took care of our group, but took care of all the other customers. I wasn't able to take pictures of everyone else's lunch, but I only heard good things. Lunch is served only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I can't speak for their services, but I'm sure it's on their website. If you're looking for a good light lunch, check it out.

That's sad but there is still fishing and the Porter Mountain Stables nearby actually have horseback trails and tours around the lake. The lake consists of Rainbow & Brown Trout, Channel Catfish, Large Mouth Bass, Green Sunfish, Blue Gill, Black Bull Head and Carp.

It's affordable and consists of a small museum with pottery and other artifacts, outdoor ruins from an old Salado pueblo (self-guided), and a small gift shop. There is a film you can watch at the beginning of your visit to better understand the site. Decent-size parking lot, and it's unlikely you'll be sharing the site with too many other visitors. It was fairly empty when we went on a Saturday afternoon. I like how they incorporated cacti and other elements of Arizona landscapes into the ruins. A lot of the ruins aren't accessible and can only be viewed from behind metal fencing. I fully understand wanting visitors off the ruins but wish the site had adopted more aesthetically-pleasing solutions than metal wire fencing.

The ranch is absolutely beautiful, and the horses are well cared for and wonderful to ride. One of our favorite parts was the tour through the little Western town--it was such a unique experience and really brought the area's history to life. You can tell this land is full of rich history and has been cared for with pride. This experience exceeded our expectations, and we absolutely got our money's worth. If you're looking for an authentic Arizona adventure with great people, beautiful horses, and fascinating history, I highly recommend visiting. We can't wait to come back!
