The grounds and my unit is beautiful. I've seen the community transform over the years with some great improvements. Having Wi-Fi in the unit is great. A great feature to the area is having the rental dock available. Hopefully they will add JetSki slips to the dock that allow you to drive the JetSki up and out of the water. The lake is an awesome lake to visit and so is Treetop!!

This particular unit, however, was in need of a deep cleaning. Felt ok to use the kitchen after I cleaned the crud out of the silverware tray and dish drainer. The bathroom and closet was another story. Hated to hang our clean clothes on the dirty rack and under the filth that clogged the overhead vent.

The Landlords here made me go from July-November without AC and I had a 3 month old baby in the…read moreapartment. They never took care of a single maintenance request that I called in. Grass was hardly ever mowed. When I left the landlords tried to extort money from me by telling me that I owe them more than my deposit was which is illegal to do. Please save yourself the trouble and do not live in these apartments.

But it's been great. Cabins/rooms are old but very well kept. Kitchenette is fantastic cuz you get tired of trying to find a restaurant three times a day. More than comfortable. Grounds are immaculate. Pool is clean and beautiful. Two big docks. Swam in the lake more than the pool. Swapped out towels every other day. Owners are very helpful. Price was reasonable. There's not a huge estate to walk around but that's not why you come to a place like this anyway. This isn't a Marriott. But for what the area offers, it's great. Had to stop at the entrance one night to let the deer cross. Lots of woods around here. Long, winding ride to town, which is hurting a bit from the economy, but plenty of restaurants in the area. Highly recommend JB Hooks. The location from the Horseshoe is as good as any for getting to all the caves and other sights we visited. TOO hot this summer for some of the hiking we wanted to do, but that's got nothing to do with the resort. My kids liked the game room. Wi-fi was better than most of the Marriotts I've stayed in lately. Unfortunately had to track some business while on vacation, and this allowed me to do that. I would absolutely come here again. Good price, friendly management, nice facilities, great location. I warned the wife, anybody can make their pictures and descriptions better than their real offering (had a terrible experience once with a horse riding / lodge place in southern IL), But this turned out to be an excellent gamble. Stayed in an end room of the last building - second floor. No daily maid service, but that wasn't needed since I was coming and going throughout much of the time I spent there. Kitchenette was great for staying in and cooking breakfast to enjoy on the shared balcony. Little grocery store less than 10 minutes away. Dishes, pots & pans, silverware & flatware as well as dish soap for cleaning up. It was like house sitting at a friends' apartment. Great water pressure and heat in shower. Air-conditioning/heat worked very well. Walls are pretty thin, but I lucked out with relatively quiet neighbors. 10pm quiet time policy helps. Didn't have a chance to check out the amenities, but there is a lot to do from swimming, boating, fishing, and game room. A lot of forest-type critters; squirrels, deer, birds (not obnoxious) and I even almost ran over a turtle! Read managements' recommendations for what to bring - it's different, but not crazy. Towel exchange every other day (bring some of your own if you use more). Would highly recommend this location to anyone and would definitely return. Athena - Seattle, WA
