This is a smaller venue and for the budget we had, it worked perfectly for us. I stumbled upon this venue on Yelp and after reading the reviews, we both knew this was the place for us. I love that they allow you to bring in your own food, alcohol, decorations, and don't force any "preferred" vendors down your throat. This truly helped us stay within our budget. The space itself is just beautiful and charming. High ceilings, lovely hardwood floors, plenty of greenery space surrounding the building to take pictures, and plenty of parking for our guests. They had all the tables and chairs we needed so we didn't have to rent anything and the facility manager was on site during our event so if there was an issue, she was able to assist. We just loved how helpful Cindy and Beth were. From the time we decided to use the space, to the day of our wedding, they were always quick to respond to any questions we had and were just overall helpful. The venue has space that is quite versatile and they setup the area to your needs. It was the charm of the exterior that really helped us make the decision as we knew we would have our celebration during the summer. They have a brick area out front (with lovely string lights that just make it soooo much cuter in the evening) where we ended up having a small ceremony and also used the space as just an area where our guests could come outside, sit, and mingle during our reception. They have a bridal suite, a pretty big kitchen for vendors to use during the event, and a good amount of restrooms for your guests. My husband and I couldn't have picked a more lovely place to have our wedding and am so happy that we went with our gut and stuck with our decision to utilize the Solarium. There are some moments where you just don't have the words to express how gracious you feel but I must say we loved everything about The Solarium and would reccomend this anyone!

This is the main room for the bride to get ready, and it's usually a mess. They call it the "art room" and wouldn't really help to de-clutter it for photos. Still, even with these issues, it's a great value for an in-town location and it's a beautiful part of Decatur's history. I love to shoot there, too!

Fete and Figs (especially Audrey) is AMAZING. They saved my best friends' wedding from becoming a…read moredisaster (and it really would have been a disaster without them). I was the Maid of Honor for my friends' Cher and Tony's wedding and I was also their unofficial wedding planner. They originally had a day of coordinator provided from another company - this coordinator dropped the ball on so many occasions that we had to fire her and look for a new one TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING. I emailed Amanda in a panic and she replied within an hour and hopped on the phone with me to hear my concerns over what didn't work out with the previous person and also let me know that they potentially had someone available. In comes Audrey - organized, professional, and overall a gem of a human being. The difference between her and their old coordinator was night and day! She came in two weeks prior and was able to get a wrangle on all the vendors and organization details. She came to the walkthrough so prepared that even their other vendors were impressed. We were so stressed with our old coordinator but all the stress came right off after Audrey took over. On the day of the wedding, we also had Maeghan onsite (another amazing human being btw) - every last detail was PERFECT. Everything was set up the way the bride had wanted. The wedding went off without a hitch and it wouldn't have happened that way without the team at Fete and Figs.

However, it didn't matter much because he improvised and there was a super fun go-stop-groom-crawling game that had the crowd roaring. Then he was able to get the right song and all was good. The one thing that did irk me a little, was this: My sister (who is very, very pregnant and was my maid of honor) approached Joel several times throughout the night for either questions or clarification about a few things, and his responses were not very friendly nor personable. I completely understand that Joel may have been flustered due to the music/software technical difficulties, but I know that he could have been a bit more cordial to her. I'm sure he was just frustrated and to be perfectly honest, everybody was probably a bit stressed all night, but I know it wasn't easy for my sister to have to ask him questions when she had them. We'd met for lunch months before the wedding to discuss our music taste, event, etc. Joel promised a pre-party mix if we sent him a list of stuff we liked, so we did. This never materialized. He then promised to make up for that and this never happened either. I'm a very reasonable and patient person, but after failing to hold up his end of the bargain MORE than 3 times, I had to write an honest review. I don't like being jerked around and if a vendor is making promises, then they should deliver. Period. Talented? Without a doubt. Would do business with again? Not a chance.

Joel with Lethal Rhythms truly saved the day for our wedding!…read more I had already booked another DJ for our wedding but he had been oddly silent to my emails during the week or two before the big day. When I finally called him the day before the wedding I found that his number was disconnected! I scoured the internet for another number to call but every number for him was the same. I sent him a facebook message since he had been unresponsive to my emails. No word. We had a contract and I had put down a deposit but I had no idea how to pursue him any further. We called Lethal Rhythms Friday afternoon and in two hours Joel connected me with Larry Cook. Larry called me immediately and after our conversation I knew I could breathe easier. The first DJ finally called me the day of our wedding... 15 minutes before our ceremony started. I angrily asked him why I hadn't heard from him and he simply said that "they had been so busy lately". Larry was amazing! Everyone raved about him all night long and he was passing out his business cards by the end of the night. We knew that our friends and family are a fun crowd, but Larry kept them on the dance floor the. entire. night. There was never a lull and everyone had a great time! The only even slightly negative thing that I can say is that Larry is not yet an "emcee". I was fortunate enough that my wedding coordinator was able to step in for this role but I felt like that was naturally part of a DJ's duty for a wedding. Other than that, we were more than pleased! We threw a holiday party last month at our home for 40 guests and we wanted to make it really…read morespecial. To top it all off, we had just about three weeks to plan the event and I ended up having to drop everything and travel due to a family emergency. Our home isn't particularly big and we had a lot going on, but Monica worked tirelessly to ensure that our timing and space concerns were addressed (to fit 40 for cocktails, sit-down dinner, games, and dancing). Monica put together an event our guests will certainly remember. From the decorative wall with the balloon arch, decorations and center pieces, the tables, table cloths, Chiavari party chairs, the bar, the DJ, and much more. Everything looked beautiful and our home was glowing! In addition, Monica helped coordinate the layout for the buffet. She also hired a bartender and DJ for us. As you might imagine, retaining a great DJ, in less than three weeks and during prime season is quite a feat. Our last guests left at 4:00 am - it was a huge success!
