As, I suspected, it very much looks like an old school diner and so immediately I want pancakes rather than lunch! Pancakes I had, stacked up high with a sausage on the side for 'real food.' The boyfriends had a burger and all is very satisfying, including the lovely homely service. We never got around to coffee as milkshakes and orange juice seemed more appropriate! Worth a detour for this place! Note: check if they take cards - they didn't last month!

Beautifully decorated with biker memorabilia, it used to be a car dealership, then a service station before its present incarnation. A small but tasty menu from which I ordered the full Cumbrian breakfast - bacon, Cumberland sausage, blood sausage, mushrooms, baked beans, fried egg, hash browns and grilled tomatoes. Sounds like a lot but it was really tasty, not to mention great fuel for hiking up the mountains in the district. Do yourself a favor and tank up at this family run American-style diner. You'll thank yourself after.

Thus, for historical value, I had to check it out, but I only stayed for one drink because I did not find it particularly friendly. I have found that dichotomy across Britain (but not Ireland): pubs in large cities welcome everyone, perhaps because of the cosmopolitan nature of a city; in the small towns, where there are probably fewer tourists and more local regulars, I often get a very icy vibe from both patrons and staff. Too bad. I paid 2 for a Tennett's Velvet, a great price for a quality beer.

My family and I came to the Globe Inn for some after supper drinks. I had never seen the Robbie Burns' paraphenalia in the other parts of the Inn and my uncle asked the bartender if she would show us around. The lady was more than happy to open it up for us and show us the other rooms. I got to take some cool pictures with my family in the backrooms of the Inn. After the unplanned tour we had about 3 more rounds and then headed to another pub. I'm not sure when the other parts of the Inn are open regularly with the Robbie Burns memorabilia, but it was pretty interesting if you're fan of his. Definitely made this place above average.

We decided to head to our local which is situated at the whitlett roundabout. The place has a great vibe. Bright and spotless. The waiter never mentioned unlimited breakfast. I ordered the traditional fry and my other half ordered the veggie alternative. We both agreed that all the food items on the plate were lukewarm. His avocado was stone cold - who in their right mind would have avocado on their fry up- F&B think again. The egg white on top of the egg was uncooked. Small portion of beans and 3 mushrooms completed the breakfast. Tea was unlimited as was the filter coffee.

We could hardly find a seat and the chef's obviously couldn't cope with the demand as people we're left sitting for quite a while before then deciding to leave just as the meals finally arrived but me and my bf stuck it out as we had nothing planned that night and we got a perfect burger so we left with a smile on our faces but we did see a lot of angry customers that night. This place is corporate just as the other review states, the food isn't that impressive so don't expect it to be and if anything they have too much on the menu with some of it ridiculously priced. Go for the 2 meals for £9.99 as you can't really fault that and aren't paying over the odds.
