I am taking back everything I said in my review from years ago on this place! They have just changed over to new owners, and the owners are struggling opening up under the old name "Win Garden" because of the bad reviews the previous owners had amassed. We went there a couple weekends ago for nostalgia sake, because we used to frequent this place when my hb and I were first married, up until I got sick there, and that the was the last time. Now, the place is cleaner, and the food is AWESOME! We went on a Saturday for their dinner buffet and tried everything. It was fresh, cooked perfectly, tasty, and the new owners were very accomodating and friendly, even giving us a discount because they didn't have the buffet up when we first walked in. They asked us to stay and we did, and it was worth it! We will be making this place a new regular and we sincerely hope that these new owners are able to reestablish this place into a new favorite for everyone, for many years to come! Hopefully they will be able to put their new name (which we were told will be "The Golden Bowl") on the restaurant as soon as possible because it must be difficult to start up under such a bad rep under the name of "Win Garden"! My favorite chinese food dishes are fried squid, fried chicken and chop suey, and they were hands down, the best I've ever had! The ginger beef was so tasty and tender, even with my dental issues I was able to eat it. There were a couple of items I would have added to the buffet such as shrimp/prawns, hot and sour soup, and wonton soup, but this was their first opening buffet and I'm sure they had a hard time choosing what items to put out there when they knew the start up would be slow due to not having their new name. Other than that, trust me, you gotta eat here!! We are possibly going back again tonight or next weekend, and we will take pictures to add to this review! read more

Want a quick lunch at a great price this place it it!!! Staff was so friendly and seated us and asked for our drink order in a quick fashion. The buffet selection was fresh and wonderful so much to choose from and such a small stomach. LOL. The food and the Desert was delicious and the price was out of this world!! Lunch with water for 2 people was under $20.00!! Don't have to worry about parking your vehicle, there is plenty of parking. This place is a hidden gem! We will be returning. read more

Just stating we have frequently visited The Win Garden in Airdrie. Last night we had a takeout for a special occasion, nit cheap. Thought it was OK until one bit on something really hard, lucky to not break a tooth. It materialized it was a button off a chefs jacket. Upon returning to the restaurant to advise the staff, they blew us off, didn't believe us and basically didn't want to know. Hence we WILL NOT be eating from there again, and advise you think twice before you choose to visit this establishment. read more

Maybe I should have looked at the menu closer, as maybe it said that EVERYTHING was a la Carter, but discovered that when you order a main dish, like my pineapple sweet-and-sour chicken, ***that is all you get.*** No steamed rice with it. No utensils with it. Not even a fortune cookie with it. The pineapple sweet-and-sour chicken was pretty good, but it would have been so much better had I had some steamed rice to go with it. Now, admittedly I am just visiting from Texas, and if this is typical here in Calgary/Airdrie, then that is my mistake. We have been ordering from here for over 6 years, and have overall enjoyed everything that we have ordered. Tonight we went to place an order for delivery as their menu states free delivery on orders over $35. I was told that it is now upped to $60. This is such an outrageous increase I was speechless. We will now be ordering from a different restaurant. read more

The customer service on New Years was horrible. I ordered pick up thinking it would be faster. They told me it would be ready in an hour. I arrived to find 4 other people waiting for pick up. After an hour of waiting, and some people walking in for pick up and receiving their order right away, I decided to ask how much longer it would be. No reply. The hostess walked away and ignored me. The next time I saw the hostess, I asked if I could get a take out dish and grab my order from the buffet. I had ordered 3 combination plates ($9.95 each) she said yes but she would have to charge me $13.95. After waiting for an hour and a half past the pick up time I should be getting a discount! Not be charged an extra $12. They have amazing fresh food, but they have lost a customer purely in principle. I would have waited the 2 and a half hours if they had just said that! read more

Yummy Chinese buffet served hot and fresh. Great selection and reasonably priced. Very friendly owner and staff. Clean and comfortable setting. We tried the take-out too, fantastic dishes and speedy order. We will be coming back lots! read more

Poor communication, waited 3 hours for food to arrive. Could not even give me a timeframe for when my food would be delivered, had to call driver to find out. Had to call several times to figure it out. On the second call after waiting 2 hours, found out food had not yet been prepared. Am not pleased with the service here and will not be going back. If you are going to order from here I suggest you do so in-store and pick it up instead of delivery. Highly unimpressed. read more

Nice restaurant but the buffet isn't that big. In fact, it's too small. Not enough selection and across the room, you can see the sanitation materials that a janitor would use. Not a big deal but makes the environment low rent. I had an okay experience but would recommend the Silver Star restaurant between no frills and the dolls store. Bigger and classier restaurant with much more food selection and still a very reasonable price for the buffet. read more

Got delivery lady pushed her way into my home. Which made me mad but whatever, sat down with the family to eat and dishes everything out, it was all cold. Stuck my finger right into the sauce and it was cold, put my plate into the microwave and started eating, found a hair in mine. My Mom was eating and says oh great look cold food and a hair. The meat was all fatty and didnt even look like beef, the chicken i would not even feed to my dog. At that point I was pissed two hairs, cold food and a pushy delivery driver. So we called, and the lady just kept saying no it left as soon as it was cooked, over and over again. So i packed it all up and drove it to the store. I said i found two hairs and my food was cold, so she put the food onto the table and pulled out and said no look container hot, i said the food is cold, she said no the container is hot, i said ok good for that its WARM but the food is cold. The girl in the lobby says what do you expect its cold out. I took the chicken balls out broke it in half and said touch it it is COLD. She laughed and packed the bag up and said it is warm. She then made me stand at the front door for 5 minutes as she goes to the buffe to speak chinese, then into the kitchen, a couple comes in behind me and she helps them. As the girl in the lobby is still talking to the guy with her about me still standing there. She finally says ok i give your money back -$5 for delivery, i said no i had to drive down here and there is hair in my food, she said my owner hires the driver, i said oh the driver who pushed herself into my home with an aggressive dog, she says yes i dont believe that. I said i want my money then refund me and ill deal with my Visa, she says i can refund you cash. I said whatever took my cash and walked out, the girl in the lobby had a nice F you as i walked out the door. read more

On January 30th my daughter ordered the dinner for 6 with an extra Ginger Beef and Dumplings. They said it would take 45 minutes which it should up earlier than that but was missing the Chicken Fried Rice. My daughter called right back after we received the order and they said they would send it right away. We didn't receive the rice until over 1 hour later and by then we had finished eating. I couldn't see any chicken in rice at all. I like the food but their service sucks. They also do not have the option of using Cornstarch for the batter coated food in place of the flour for those that require a Gluten Free diet so I will be looking for another restaurant. read more
