I happened to be in McMinnville. There are a few things I just cannot possibly justify buying elsewhere like extras for my cats...genuinely, anything like toys, even bowls if you need extra in stainless or even the plastic ones, liter, treats... Most everything canned for you or your pets... I am addicted to Brianna's French Vinaigrette and it is something else half price here compared to anywhere else. SO, I needed to get into a Winco and discovered I happened to be right by this one. I was happy to have it way less crowded than my local one, especially since I would not have been able to go later in the evening and was shopping at the height of the day. I could have definitely done without the very cranky staff members. I am so used to the locations by me and I have been to locations where they probably deal with some insane customers yet they are super nice. This was not that. I noticed a lot of the reviews mentioned the crew that works there being less than stellar and I agree completely. So go for the prices and just be aware that the folks who work there are mad at you. Also, the self check kept blasting me with video of me like almost screaming 'I AM WATCHING YOU!'. It was just crazy being treated so hostile in an area that you would expect more relaxed and downhome. read more

Doesn't matter what time of day employees on floor are rude. Bathrooms are filthy. Expired food. Overheard a manager talk down to an employee on the floor. Overheard same manager speaking ill of employees in Spanish to another manager. They should really be more careful. You never know who speaks what languages. read more

I love shopping here, I just don't think the employees are kind. They do not care about the business anymore and I have had cashiers inform me that the managers do not care about their employees or the business anymore. Always finding moldy food. Some of the Colombia Gorge drinks are past their expiration date. Baskets are never by the front doors anymore. Bottle return machines are always down. Always stinks. Shopping carts are always in the corrals instead of in the store. Whoever cleans the place has left equipment on top of the food in the bulk sections. When my friend complained to an employee, they ignored him Flies in the donut cases. Several times I bought Franz bagels and they were wet. Birds have flown in and got trapped. Always having alarms going off that's not good for people with Autism. read more

I went to the deli department on 8/23/18 and tried the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo dinner and the instructions said to put in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes. I put it in the microwave for 4 minutes and the Broccoli never got all the way done. The dinner was good and would have it again, but maybe take the Broccoli out so im not eating pasta with raw broccoli in it. read more

Staff is in open rebellion against COVID-19 prevention guidelines. When I was in there last week, the entire produce staff was standing in a group with their masks around their necks, chatting with each other and customers, not distanced. Multiple clerks were walking around the store with their masks off or off their noses. The customer service desk claimed that Produce was actively resisting the mask guidelines, and that they had been spoken to multiple times, but that they were protesting as a group. My cashier argued with me when I asked her to pull her mask up off her neck, and then refused to cover her nose. The store manager seemed resigned to her situation, and sounded defeated when she said she would talk to store staff. If you are concerned about contracting or spreading COVID-19, I would suggest avoiding this store until the pandemic is over. read more

We just moved to Newberg and need to do some grocery shopping. We purchase most of our groceries at winco besides meat. We got there at 8 pm on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. Before when we have been to Winco's late at night the people stocking are rude and block isle but that wasn't the case here. Everything was clean and organized as well. We got to the check stands and the two open ones had lines but they quickly got a 3rd check stand going and we were in and out of there in 1 hours. read more

Winco can be a blissful delight or a worst nightmare. Shopping between the hours of 3-7 PM? No, don't do it. Unless you want to deal with hellacious lines, stressful shoppers, and parents yelling wearily after their children in God knows WHAT language. I always go late at night. Anytime after 9 guarantee's no wait in line, and freshly stocked produce and dry goods. Why even bother with Winco? Because it's wonderfully cheap! They're bulk section is my new best friend. It's where I shop. Usually cheapest in town. They monkey with prices a bit. If meat is eaten later than two days or veggies later than four, consider Safeway. Absolutely buy seafood at Roths. Update: My wife reminded me that 2 years ago that we were charged $20 to much and we repeatedly came back to resolve with mgt. to no avail. Called there bookkeeper, supplied the receipt, and they never called back. I eventually let them know that their cashier pocketed the extra $20 and at least bust her out. You will find that, as an aggregate, prices will be cheaper than anywhere else in town. WinCo's produce department is well stocked most of the time and the deli has quite a bit of stuff (I especially like the picnic pack for about 11 bucks which includes 8 pieces of barbecue-baked or fried chicken, 2 side dishes and 8 Kings Hawaiian rolls). They also have an adequate selection of meats. It can get crowded and sometimes the lines are slow moving, but if you avoid the hours right after work on payday, it isn't too bad. WinCo currently accepts debit cards and they finally worked out the kinks in the yes/no button choices so its pretty streamlined now. read more

We love Winco! Bulk foods and great prices! Grocery shopping can be hard with little kids but they have remodeled this store and gotten more selections of foods and our family is loving it! Cashiers always seem friendly and pretty quick when checking out. read more

I love Winco's offerings and prices, but often spent excessive time trying to find things. Better signage would be fabulous. The pizza always smells delicious but I have yet to try it. Service is adequate, wish they had more lanes open. Not the place to be on payday. Prices are generally cheaper than other area grocery stores. read more

This would be my winco of choice. Its much less chaotic than any of the wincos in salem. The prices are the best in town for the most part. Their produce is always fresh and in good condition. They always have the appropriate ammount of checkers and even on busy days we seem to get through lines fast. Plenty of handicapped parking for us. The staff are super helpful and i have no complaints about service and this is a place i can go to do the bulk of my grocery shopping and stay within our budget. read more

We love our local WinCo. The employees are always friendly - especially one cashier named Anne. WinCo beats other grocery stores' prices overall hands down. Yes, you can find some items cheaper at other grocery stores and when other stores have sales. However, in general you will save more overall by just shopping at WinCo. The stores where I have lived have always been clean and the employees are very nice and friendly. Not sure why some reviews say it is cash only because they do accept debit cards, just not credit cards. I love WinCo's brand of products. They are good quality at great prices. WinCo also started carrying more organic products recently, which we love. Not only does WinCo take care of its customers by offering low prices, they are also excellent to their employees. WinCo offers stock to every vested employee in the form of retirement as well as offering a 401K option for employees to vest in as well. WinCo also provides health insurance to employees and their families at an extremely low rate. They also provide sick leave, paid vacation, and bonuses to employees. Be prepared to spend some time when you shop at WinCo as they get really busy at times. I like to go later in the evening when there are not as many people. They are open 24 hours, which we have found extremely beneficial when little ones are sick, or we forgot something that we needed. One more thing I really appreciate is when WinCo is very busy, you will find most (if not all) check lines open. They make sure employees help the customers. I can't tell you how many times I have visited other stores when they were busy only to see one or two cash registers open. Thanks, WinCo! read more

OMG, I got the SLOWEST cashier on the planet today. She was more interested in talking then checking the people out. I spent more time in the checkout line than I did putting the items in my cart. Winco Foods need to hire people who are interested in working and not talking! This is not the first time this has happened in McMinnville. read more

If it wasn't for the great prices I'd never shop here. The customer service is horrable. To be fair there are a few that are always nice but can I get a smile!? I was just at the self checkout lane today (7/25/2016 11:00 pm) scanning food and I'm not 100% sure how to use it so when I was unsure of what was going on the 18 year girl came up to me, no smile and looked at me like I was an idiot. This happened twice. So rude. I'm debating actually just going to Albertsons and safeway from now on. There always nice. I hope management is reading this. read more

I do not normally shop here but I needed to pick up pizzas we had made for a non-profit organization event we were doing. The employee as the pizza counter was just awesome. She took it upon herself to cut the pizza into smaller slices so that it would go father and she assisted me with getting cold drinks for everyone. She was so polite and helpful even though it was her LAST day at that job! read more

My boyfriend and I were using the self checkout lane on 4/20/15 at about 10:30 pm, when the scale was having trouble verifying the weight of our potatoes. After a few seconds we tried lifting it and setting it back down, this definitely upset the woman who was working at the time because she then approached us and scolded us as if we were children. Besides the fact that this was humiliating us in front of the other costumers, It was just rude and unprofessional. This Winco is on a downward spiral , we also had our bike stolen from the parking lot a few months ago. And a Co-worker of mine was attacked in the store and her sunglasses stolen. read more

I have to admit I do most of my grocery shopping at Winco, but I may have to re-think my routine. On 8/31/12 I was shopping in the produce area. I was patiently waiting for the produce guy to finish filling the grapes. I stood there for at least 2-3 minutes with him easily aware of my presence. Well, with him not making any eye contact with me what so ever I reached over him to grab some grapes. Again he didn't make eye contact or attempt to move a little bit so I could have easier access to the grapes. Anyhow, I never took the amount of grapes that I wanted, and the produce employee never made eye contact nor attempted to move to make my shopping more convenient. The P.R. relations with most employees leave a lot to be desired in the first place (with the exception of the deli people), but this produce experience and behavior of the produce employee was rude. How can a person in this type of working environment keep his employment? Unless he was the boss I guess! read more
