This place has LOTS of potential. When you drive up, there is garbage (cups lying around), and the smoking section is right by the FRONT door. Check in, the lady had very little personality and she almost seemed put out. WOW! The room we got (we travelled with our pet dog), was very clean and comfortable and had very good soaps and shampoos and coffee. Grounds in the front were somewhat well kept (some decent sized weeds), and then walking around the back facing the back, which is still visible from rooms or driving by, weeds that were 2-4 feet tall, easy. There seems to be a bit of pride missing, and this was perhaps the most unkept Tribal-ran hotel I had stayed out. Lots of potential, they just have to want to get it to the next level. We are on a road trip. Heard this place was a fun place to stay. From the minute we checked in everyone was rude. The people at the sports bar and grill where not friendly. Then we went to grab a beer at the bar and the bartender Joe was so rude. I was schocked. They work for tips and he couldn't care less. He had earpods in his ears and when I ordered a drink all he wanted was cash. Even though I was waiting for my boyfriend for my boyfriend to order his drink. He couldn't care less. The Sportsbook is actively driving away business by making it impossible to cash a winner (or a push). The kiosks won't let you add a push to your wallet. The cashier's cage has a setup for these but there's always a "problem" where they can't cash your ticket. Ex. "Someone forgot to logout and I don't know their password." The person who's supposed to be manning the Sportsbook is almost never there, especially on Monday morning during football season when people are likely to have tickets to cash. I've been pestering employees and waiting around for 2hrs this morning to cash an $860 ticket. I've been told "She's on her break for a few minutes." "I can't radio her." "She left for a dentist appt." "I can't login to cash your ticket." I'm stubborn and I've got time, so I'm hanging around to get this one cashed, but I'm done betting here after that. This is unacceptable. If you're in Wyoming and looking to bet sports, stick to the apps. DK, FD, MGM, CZR and Fliff. They each have their own problems but at least they have people working when they have problems and something as simple as paying a winner isn't in question. read more

We recently stayed at the Wind River Hotel on our trip through Wyoming to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. We were very happy with our experience at Wind River. Their concern and care for their guests during COVID-19 was much appreciated by us. Masks were required at all times in the property unless dining in one of the restaurants. As one other reviewer shared the hotel was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. If we hadn't been passing through we would have stayed another evening. You should note that you do need to walk through the casino to reach the restaurants. There is a non-smoking section in the casino but there is also a smoking section. Even though we aware neither smokers or interested in the casino the stay at the hotel positively outweighed the casino and smoking area. We were glad to think we were supporting the local tribe. Our stay at Wind River was one of the best experiences we had over two weeks of staying in various hotels during our trip. Thank you, Wind River. read more

Don't waste your time much less money! Played 20 mins on slots and $600 later you would think something or a bonus round! No one walking around asking if you need anything much less a free Diet Coke! My husband is asthmatic and had Covid in March (which is not required by dr to wear a mask) and had mask on & just pulled down for a moment to breathe (warm in casino) and a guy was there within secs to get in his face to tell him to PULL it back up! Now this is 12 noon with hardly anyone in there. We went in the very back where nobody else was just us two! We will never be back. We just got up and left immediately! For the price, the Wind River Hotel & Casino is a decent lodging option in this part of Wyoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well-maintained. There are several food options at the resorts, though my family was less than impressed with the food at the Red Willow. Check-in and check-out was a breeze and there was plenty of parking. I'm a big supporter of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and given a choice, I choose this place. This morning I had breakfast at the Red Willow restaurant. A great meal - bacon, eggs and a pancake for $8.50 and tonight an Indian taco at the snack bar CeeNokuu for $8.50. They are HUGE, but I can't eat the regular size. Indian taco left overs are bad, so I custom ordered one I could eat in one sitting. I may be back tomorrow for another. read more

What can I say, it's a casino with rooms. I can give a positive point that the rooms are great. I hate the soft water but that's another story. I went to 2 restaurants on site and checked out the menus. Everything looked good. At the Red Willow I asked the host what was their favorite. I was told that it was expensive and they would not eat there... No one was in the restaurant. Sooo.... I went to the sports bar to eat. Nachos and wings. Food was "okay". But had to put it in front of me and my guest as it was dropped on the farthest away part of the table from us and left. Food was not as advertised and waitress didn't even give us the time of day to rectify the matter. Just received a bill as we were eating. I think her whole family was there and they were clearly more important. Property could be Great but clearly missing out on customer service. read more

My only real gripe here is that they claim it is a drivable distance from Yellowstone. Eh....that I might dispute. I wasn't here because I was going to Yellowstone, but I think it's worth noting. Unless you have a couple extra days to just hang out and gamble, I would not recommend staying here unless you are passing through. What brings one to Wind River? For me, it was a chance to go somewhere new but relatively close. The Wind River mountains are accessible, as are some pretty great state parks. It may not be your idea of vacation, but there's something about that vast expansiveness and detached feeling of Wyoming that I find really relaxing. It really helps balance out the fact that you're losing all your money at the slots. The casino itself is nothing special. You have slots, a roulette table, a couple of black jack tables, and a couple of poker tables. Other than that it is a vast expanse of slots. You also have access to a non-smoking section, which is smaller but offers a reprieve from cigarettes. No alcohol here. Completely fine by me as I don't drink. There are a few restaurant options, and a small espresso bar if it suits you. Simple espresso that gets the job done. The only restaurant I did try was the Cee Nokuu Cafe, it was both affordable and better than I expected. If you must try something, it is always my recommendation to get the fry bread. It's simple but delicious. I love Native American food, and I'm thrilled that they have a few options for you here. The Northern Arapaho tribe who own this casino are incredibly gracious people. Didn't come across a single person who wasn't kind. We were treated with respect from start to finish. Hotel wise, it's very affordable, however a bit more expensive on the weekends. The rooms themselves are spacious and clean. The beds are extremely comfortable, and maid service did a great job at replenishing our toiletries. Our specific room came with a microwave and a mini fridge, ideal for making quick snacks or chilling drinks. An unexpected but welcome surprise, the beds were extremely comfortable. Probably an odd place to find yourself in, but I really did enjoy my time here. read more

Not the best choice for commuting between the hotel and Tetons or Yellowstone National Parks. My mistake. (On the map, it wasn't so far....) but speed limit changes all the way down to 30 passing towns, so it take 4+ hours to get to Grant Tetons gate from the hotel during a snowy Tuesday in June. But, for the price point, you get a clean, well equipped hotel with options for food. If you travel on weekends, you get more choices in fare and price for food. The 24hr cafe is limited, but delivers consistent food for a deal when you get the $5 coupon or tour group meal tickets. Please tip according to what it would have cost...cmon readers..I saw too many seniors not tip on a free meal or just a pittance after getting a huge discount. Its a smoking allowed place, but the ventilators work well. If you get a casino card before you check in, you can get a discounted room rate. Context; Since I'm the worst option, the "last-minute decision to travel " driving to the big National Parks in this region, I opted for two nights here, one for Tetons, one for Yellowstone. It's too far to enjoy the $100 to $150 rate difference between close-to-park seasonal rates. Since it was raining and snowing Tuesday in mid-June, there wasn't that much traffic, but I can imagine that a sunny weekend would turn the drive from 4 to painfully longer travel. I'll never stay at the hotel again. Spent 2 nights here on business. First night, my room's AC wasn't working. Was 78 degrees in the room. I called 2 times to have maintenance take a look but no one came. Finally a woman from the front desk fixed it. Second night, AC wasn't working again. This time 3 employees came to look at it because they didn't believe me. I was moved to another room, and AC didn't work. I was moved to another room and finally it worked. The staff made me feel like I inconvenienced them by complaining. No sense of urgency and just a blah attitude- even the shift manager. The Hotel: Very clean and the rooms are modern and spacious with a sitting area, desk and large TV. The nightly rate was also very reasonable. The Casino: Clean and fairly modern, but it's no Vegas. It's also pretty smokey so be prepared to stink after no more than a walk through. There is a 24/7 cafe and another more "highend" restaurant in the casino. I didn't try either, but the curb appeal left something to be desired. ALERT: There is no alcohol allowed on or sold on the premises. This was a great place to stay! The rooms were nice and comfortable and affordable as well. I'm very difficult to please when it comes to hotel beds but I slept great on their Beauty Rest mattress. The casino is not a non-smoking area and no alcohol is served but I don't really drink anyway. Their free coffee was great though! They had plenty of penny slots to keep me and my mere $25 entertained for 2 hours. (You also get coupons and vouchers for the casino and restaurants when you stay in the hotel.) We were in town for a family reunion, and had seen how nice the rooms are. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of coffee (good, too) and ice-water in the lobby. Comfortable bed, but the pillows are so full I had to use the bolster instead. The A/C was easily adjustable, but the shower was independent and wouldn't obey in temperature, direction, or amount of spray. The elevator will punish you with a loud alarm if you hold the door open too long. I am not a gambler, so walking through the casino to the restaurants was unpleasant - all the noise, lights, and weird music was like being in a cartoon. And at the Cee Nokou, it doesn't matter what you order - the cook will give you what they want you to have. But the food is good, although we never had fully cooked hash browns. If you like to learn new things, be sure to go to the museum (off the lobby) especially when the guide is there - I learned a lot about the many uses of bison, some surprising!, and how to choose the best wood for making a tepee, and why red willow is used for making bows. read more

This was one of the worst meals we have ever had. The steaks were overcooked and salmon super salty. The ribeye steak was extremely thin and definitely not worth the money. When we politely explained our dissatisfaction to the manager, she agreed that steaks were overcooked and simply walked away. They did offer to remake everyone's dinner but we declined because it had already taken awhile to get the meal. When I went to pay the bill- I didnt see anything that would indicate she discounted anything, and when I asked her she very rudely said she took some off already. Im sorry but taking 10 dollars off of a 110 bill for 4 horrible meals is hardly a gesture. Not worth the price or time. They could use some customer service training. read more

I was asked to leave due to back pack I decided to carry on vacation instead of purse. There were zero no back pack signs but there were signs with what can and can not be brought into casino. Enter the Wind River Casino, Riverton's only non-bar "nightlife" option in town. I don't gamble and I don't like casinos. I find them dreadfully depressing and the cigarette smoke smell is nauseating. Yet, I still found myself here for dinner. The casino seems to be well-kept but it's still kind of depressing in here. The cigarette smoke is heavy but they do have a non-smoking section. THe food at the sit-down restaurant wasn't bad -- we loved the artichoke dip -- and they're one of the few places in town that offer late-night dining. The gift shop was full of native American handicrafts from the local tribe. Nice stuff, but nothing that's my style and it was very pricey. Would I go here again if I were in town? If I was in the mood for artichoke dip, then yes. Gambling, no, but then again, I do not gamble. read more

No free breakfast but offer 5.00 off per guest at one of hotel restaurants which was nicer than crappy continental breakfast. Everything was wonderful at my stay at the Hotel & Casino. The food was great, the rooms were clean and comfortable but what stood out most of all were the staff. The sheer numbers were overwhelming that EVERYONE was super-friendly and helpful, and just astounded me. These were some of the friendliest people I've ever met. I can't wait to return! I stopped here on a solo road trip and spent a couple of nights. I'd only booked one night, but they were very nice about adding an evening. My room was spacious, clean, well-decorated and comfortable. The casino was just right for me, as I enjoy playing slots (my elderly parents wouldn't have liked it as much, as they enjoy penny and 5-cent multi-game poker machines, which I didn't see here). WRC has table games, too, but I didn't notice which ones; roulette for sure. There's a food court/cafeteria option for dinner, as well as a more upscale restaurant, a snack bar that serves gigantic portions of food (at least, the Indian taco was enough for 3 meals) and an espresso bar. The casino and hotel both have little gift shops. There's no alcohol, but servers pass through the casino regularly and offer soft drinks. The larger casino room allows smoking (unfortunately for those of us who like to breathe clean air and to have clothes that don't reek of smoke when we're done gambling) but as is mentioned in other reviews, the ventilation system works well and helps a lot: the atmosphere is NOT foggy, terribly stinky or thick. There is a smaller separate area with slot machines for nonsmokers, though the selection of games there isn't as good as in the main area. Everyone I encountered who works here was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. There's a little cultural room off the hotel lobby dedicated to the history of native peoples (Northern Arapaho, specifically, I believe): some art, oral history narration, ceremonial costumes, beaded and sewn items, and a small painting on tanned hide movingly depicting the Sand Creek Massacre. I'd definitely come back to this hotel and casino for a couple of days of low-key gaming. The town of Riverton, nearby, is pretty (very Wyoming, surrounded by high plains, some oil operations and distant mountains) and in town are also plenty of fast food and coffee options if one wanted to explore. read more
