Took my kitten here for a first visit and they did great! Friendly staff and fairly priced.

My neighbor suggested this animal hospital yesterday. I called and made an appointment for today and from the beginning to the end of the visit, it was phenomenal from the front desk staff, assistant, and Dr. Reinhold. The appointment was quick and easy- Muchacho seemed to be okay and i didn't feel as if i was getting the run around and extra test/labwork suggestions! I have been going to Winder Animal Hospital for a few years now and overall, have not been impressed. They are money hungry. They charge exurbanite fees and you don't even see them examine your pet as they take them in the back. They can't seem to keep it simple. They always want to run expensive test. The vet that was there on my last visit was the best but he isn't there any longer. Vets seem to come and go all the time. I have to make a last minute appointment once, during their work hours, and they charged me an "emergency" fee. Granted, my girls are older but naturalization is going to happen. Some things you can't fix and running a bunch of test isn't going to fix anything but stuff their wallet. I'm a senior myself and they offer no discounts - just an fyi. You might want to check around unless you have a large pocketbook. read more

Dr. Reinhold would not allow me to forego the fluoride aspect of a dental procedure for my dog. I choose not to have that procedure done on my animals and since they're my animals I feel like my opinion, since I'm paying you for a service, is valid. read more

3 bad experiences in a row with this Vet. I took my cat here because he was losing weight and pawing at his mouth a lot. They said his mouth was fine and sent us home. The pawing at his mouth got worse and he still wasn't eating. I took him back again for them to check him a second time and look at the video I brought to see how bad it is. They checked him the second time and said again nothing was wrong without even looking at the video. They checked for other issues and said he was fine. I then demanded they take another look at him and please watch the video. At that point, Dr. Duffy re-examined him a third time and found what he said was the issue. He needed two teeth removed. They did the surgery and sent him home without any pain meds after I asked twice. My poor cat was in pain and they did nothing to help him. Less then a week later, he started pawing at his mouth again so I realized they still had not really helped him. I called them and let them know he was still hurting and not eating. Aspyn totally blew me off and said someone would call me back next week. I couldn't believe it. They couldn't care less after three trips there and still no relief for my 15 year old Kitty. I called Winder Corners Animal Hospital and they took him in the next morning at 10:30 and were so caring and kind. They did a thorough examination and found out he had a very bad ear infection. Both ears had two types of infection including yeast. They cleaned his ears and gave me prescription ear drops and pain meds for my sweet kitty and he started feeling so much better within 2 days. I am so grateful to them for finally helping my Kitty. They called to check on him and truly care about how he is doing. I will never take my cat back to Winder Animal Hospital. Also, while I was in a room with my cat waiting for the vet to come in during my last visit, I heard the girls in the office complaining and making fun of some of their own clientele after getting off the phone with one of their customers and wondered how often they did the same thing to me. We have been taking our dogs to Winder Animal Hospital for over 17 years. They have helped us through many emergencies and referred us to specialists when needed. When our little dachshund mix was bit by a copperhead, I called ahead, and they stayed late on a Saturday to stabilize her before referring us to an emergency vet for more extensive treatment. Dr. Duffy is very thorough and takes his time explaining details. He listens carefully to our concerns and answers all questions thoroughly. After caring for our dogs, they always follow up by phone to check on how the dog is recovering. During the time we've been using them, we have lost several dogs to old age or disease. Each time, the staff has responded with care and compassion. They follow up with condolences and items to honor the memory of our pets. We feel like the staff of WAH is part of our family! read more

We've been coming to WAH for 10yrs now, through 4 dogs. They can be a little pricey but for good reason the quality of service has always been outstanding. Every time we go, they always make a big deal that we're there, especially Andrea, she is awesome! Dr. Duffy is so great at explaining things and takes his time doesn't rush or make you feel rushed. Never really had any issues looking back. We had to put our boxer down, he had lymphoma, they were so respectful and patient with us. Yesterday morning around 7am my family said goodbye to our 2 year old golden retriever, Gracie. Gracie had epilepsy and would have frequent seizures. WAH prescribed her 3 different types of medicine but the seizures never subsided. Over the past few months Gracie's nose became extremely dry, very abnormal for a dog. Of course, common sense tells us that when a dog has a dry nose it usually means the dog isn't well. My mom took Gracie to the WAH and they told my mom that her nose was dry due to digging and it was nothing to be concerned about. Last Friday Gracie's nose began to bleed and then her mouth started bleeding, this continued for 48 hours straight. My parents immediately brought her into WAH on Monday where they held her to "watch" her and diagnose the bleeding. When my mom went to pick her up at 4pm Gracie's two front legs were bandaged up and her leg was extremely swollen. When my mom took Gracie to WAH she was able to stand and walk, when we brought her home after the visit she was unable to walk at all. Shortly after, Gracie stopped breathing while at home and she passed away. My family did some research on our own and it clearly states that dry nose on a dog is a serious matter, but WAH didn't take the time to actually diagnose the issue which could've prevented her passing. This place is unprofessional, inconsiderate and an embarrassment. I will never recommend anyone take their pets here! We lost a family member yesterday and WAH hasn't even called to send their condolences. Words cannot describe the anger I have towards this facility. read more

Winder animal hospital is not just a business they are family. They saved both of my cats lives. They have welcomed my Rottweiler in for pain management of hip dysplasia. They are always so kind and welcoming when I come in. Doctor Fowler is awesome. She is always patient and makes sure that every need is met and every question is answered. The environment is clean and comfortable. The techs are gentle and helpful.Andrea and Stacie are outstanding with customer service. Office staff are all in click together and there's only one side. Don't mind taking your money for the good times but forget them being there for you for the bad times I was quickly made aware that my emergency wasn't as important as others but you got no problem taking all those other hundreds of dollars for five minute visits and forget trying to reach out to the office manager they don't mind if they lose business they've got plenty others very very disappointed in the office staff. Didn't even follow up with a phone call the next day to check in. When I tried to reach out to the office manager the girl refused to take the message unless I told her what it was about so it was clear that they had already got preemptive strikes going and it didn't matter what I said when I talk to the manager. she blew me off and didn't hesitate to lose me as a customer. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. After I ask to speak to the owner he called me talking to me as if I were stupid and had asked for something unreasonable to be heard. I I only wanted to them to have compassion and not feel like a transaction. I got a two minute lecture about the industry being short veterinarians and that it wasn't his fault. instead of having empathy and compassion they blew me off and made it appear that I was the problem. read more

ago Brought my baby here a year ago for a dental cleaning. They told me she had a heart murmur and they were so hyper focused on that and her periodontal disease that they didnt give her a thorough examine. How do i know? They didnt discuss none of the other issues my dog has that was told to me by previous vets. Her bloodwork showed slightly abnormal and she directly blamed it on periodontal disease. Knowing that my dog has perio she didnt prescribe any meds to hold her over, I HAD TO CALL AND ASK. moving on, Well now ive gone to another vet that did a thorough exam and i find out my dog has an infection that couldve been prevented with antibiotics a year ago but now she has to have emergency surgery or shes just going to die. Im saying all this mainly bc i want the vet to see, you dropped the ball with this one-- from healthcare professional to another Please do better. read more

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!! My dog was diagnosed with a simple pain in his back hips. He was given meds and told he would be fine in a couple of weeks. They could not have been anymore wrong. After two weeks he still was in pain, so we went to Dacula Animal Hospital. We found out he actually had a bulging disc in his neck. Hopefully it hasn't been to long and the right meds will fix him. If not he'll have to have a $3500 surgery to correct it. Thanks winder we'll send you the bill. read more

After being referred to this vet by a good friend. We drove from oconee to winder Saturday morning at 9:30. We arrive with only 2 cars in the parking lot. When we get in, there is one lady waiting and one person in a room. The lady at the front desk went back and ask Dr.Duffy If we could be seen. The lady at the front desk returned and informed us we needed an appointment and they had couple of emergencies so they could not see us . And that they only had one doctor working. I informed her I was referred there by a current client and had drove 30 min. And we were new to the area and was looking for a new vet. So needless to say we went to another vet after being turned away. All the years of using vets I never knew you needed appointment on a Saturday. Especially when your dog is injured and needs attention. I would never use this group again very in professional. Another note I would have not minded if I waited a couple hours to be seen. However this let me know what kind of service they would provide! read more

Winder Animal Hospital. Greedy, Heartless, and Mean! These are the words I use to describe the staff at Winder Animal Hospital. We have a five year-old kitten that has been diagnosed with multiple issues. She has Bladder Stones, Diabetes and Kidney Problems. We rescued her when she was a young kitten, and she has been a part of our family since. She was our Daughter's first Kitten and is very much loved. With all of these medical problems we have made the choice to euthanize her because she is in pain and we cannot afford to treat all of these problems she has. When my Wife called WAH the staff made a BAD situation even worse. The person she talked with told her that she was a bad person for wanting to euthanize her and they would not do that at their office. So this folks, is how Winder Animal Hospital operates. They have no regard for the fact that this sweet cat is suffering, they only care about money and seeing how much of it they can squeeze out of people. Regardless of treatments our cat is terminally ill-she is going to pass away soon, and no treatment is going to change that or give her a better life. My Wife is already upset as we all are, and these horrible, mean spirited people have made her feel worse for trying to do the right thing. If you want a PETA/LIBERAL mind set then by all means use WAH; you will not be disappointed. If you want to have mercy, kindness, and do what's ultimately the best thing for your animals go somewhere else. By the way this is not our first encounter with WAH. Several years ago they did the same thing to us, but we let them make us believe that treatments would work. They soaked us for every dollar they could and then soaked us for more to euthanize our cat. Shame on you WAH for upsetting people that are already distressed! B****** read more

Dr. Duffy is hands down the *best* veterinarian I have ever been to. He saved my sweet Blondi's life with a much needed leg amputation. Dr. Duffy is very compassionate and he thoroughly explains everything. His staff is very friendly also! The facility is clean and very well maintained. And you really feel like your beloved pet is in the most capable hands possible when you take him or her to Winder Animal Hospital. I can't recommend this vet's office enough! read more

If I could give them no stars, I would. Winder Animal Hospital is heartless and unprofessional. Two days ago, we brought my dog Gracie to the vet because she was having issues with blood clotting. Other than that, she was still walking, eating, jumping, and being her usual self. After taking some blood, the vet advised us to take Gracie home and we would receive the test results in the morning. When we got home with Gracie, her front leg was purple and swollen- 3 times the size of her normal leg. Additionally, her hind leg was swollen and purple. The vet never advised us what to do once we got home, she made it seem as if Gracie would be back in the morning after the test results returned. That morning we were suppose to receive the test results, Gracie stopped breathing and passed. My mom called and left a voicemail to ask for the test results and advised them that Gracie passed. The vet still has not returned our call and never gave us the test results. She didn't even show any sympathy for our loss. Again, Gracie was only 2 and a half years old and PERFECTLY fine before we took her to the vet. But as soon as we took her to Winder Animal Hospital, she couldn't walk. She stopped eating. She couldn't even use the bathroom. I don't know what they did to her and I really hope she wasn't in pain when she passed. We paid $400 that day just for her to pass away and get no test results back. Also, Gracie's nose was dry and cracking for several months and up the her last day, so we brought it up to the vet. They said it was nothing and just a result of her "digging". If you even google "dry dog nose", it clearly brings up in big, bold letters that this is a sign that something is wrong with your dog. You only care about money and you have no sympathy for your customers. The least you could do is give us answers. But all we know is that we will never come near this place again and taking our two other dogs somewhere better. read more

Well this morning, we had to have our 4 legged baby put to sleep due to all the pain he has had to live with due to this Dr. Removing a anal gland and botching his bottom. Pain meds no longer was working and the other major surgery from a real surgeon, no longer worked. Oh yes, the pain was not in his head as we were told several times! All about the money! read more
