Heidi and the team at Windermere Pullman are excellent. They took the time to find us the exact rental property we were looking for. Kept in constant communication with us and we ended up with the rental house of our dreams here in Pullman. We have had a few maintenance calls and they are always handled very quickly and issues were fixed within a day. Wow. Where to even begin. Windermere is now "My Rental Company" in Pullman, WA. I'm worried this review will not reach the right folks since this sorry excuse for a rental company changed their name. My husband and I moved to Pullman and had no other option but to rent through this "company." Everything from start to finish was MISERABLE. We were living in another state and needed to rent in Pullman, ASAP. They would not rent the property to us without an IN PERSON visit. So he booked a flight, signed the papers, and then the worst renting experience we've ever had began. We drove 18 hours and were told the house would be ready for us to move in. WRONG. Nothing had been done. No cleaning. No walk thru. Nothing. So much so there were personal belongings from the previous tenants left behind in the home... everywhere. PLUS, a backed up toilet. (Incredibly unsanitary!!) Let's not even touch on what the exterior of the home looked like. After fixing multiple things ourselves, due to quickly learning that a response from Heidi or her team of "helpers" was not going to com, it was time for us to move out a year later back to our home state. We gave 4 months notice that we would still be paying the rent but would be moving 2 months prior to the ending of our lease. We were incredibly accommodating during showings that they hosted and left the home looking 10x better than we got it. Our lease was up, still heard nothing back from "My Rental Company" when we received a text stating we would have to pay to have someone mow the lawn AND fly back up to do a walk thru. My wife and I are incredibly disappointed and frustrated with our experience with Windermere. Both my wife and I have excellent rental and credit history and we were still asked for a co-signer, despite having over a year of rent in the bank statement we sent them (which they asked for, but did not look at). This was also clearly stated in the body of the email which also, obviously, went unread. After we replied with an email pointing out the balance in our bank statement they retracted the co-signer requirement. I will say my wife and I made a typo in our application, listing 680 rather than 380 for the rental property we were interested in, however, they failed to reach out to us for clarification and did not make the connection that 680 NW Roberts was intended to be 380 NW Roberts. Which seemed obvious as that was their only available property on Roberts St. We were offered a lease for the wrong property with a lease date that began far outside of the timeframe we asked suggesting further that they neglected to read our application in its entirety. At the end of all of this we were looking to at least have our application fee refund but they were unable to issue a refund. Overall, we had an unpleasant experience. Their combination of incompetence and lack of communication is the reason why we are never going to do business with Windermere again. read more

My husband and I are professionals who rented a house through Windermere for several years. When we arrived in the house, it was filthy. The carpets had not been cleaned, the stove was greasy and dirty, and the counters and floors were covered in crumbs and dirt. The yard was filled with animal feces. When I complained, I was told that the house was old. After sending pictures of the conditions, the office apologized and sent someone to clean the stove. I was promised money for the cleaning I had to do, but that money never materialized. While service and maintenance requests were usually filled quickly, our water heater's heating elements went out more than eight times. The repairman told me the water heater needed replaced, but it never was. We were simply left with the ongoing threat of no hot water. Leaving the rental situation with Windermere was a nightmare. During a phone conversation, I discovered that Heidi, intending to show our home, was showing a neighbor's house. Windermere does not rent that house out. The people who live there own their home. Windermere didn't know which properties they represent and which they don't. They were trespassing. I scheduled a walk through with the move-out inspector. 30 minutes after the scheduled time, I received a text to tell me she couldn't inspect the house that day. She was supposed to contact me the following day to meet at the property. That never happened. After spending 3 days scrubbing the property, they've kept our entire deposit. I've made multiple requests for an explanation. They've refused to meet the law's minimum standard for explaining what the deposit was kept for. I have no idea what repairs or cleaning they claim we failed to do. They are terrible communicators, but more alarmingly, they seem completely unaware of Washington's requirements and expectations for handling deposits. I've rented through many companies over the years, and this has been hands down the worst experience. Do not rent through Windermere in Pullman. read more

The owner of Windermere, Lynn, was very rude and unprofessional to me when I toured one of her houses to rent. Very uncaring to her potential tenants. I called and complained and she didn't even seem to realize that she was being rude. I recommend you not to rent from these people. read more

do not put your student in a lease from these people. they are opportunistic and feed on the ignorance and inexperience of their tenants and rely on that to get away with all sorts of stuff that adults wouldn't tolerate. they got one star because zero stars is not an option on yelp. Heidi Washington lied straight to my face pre-lease about removing the cat urine filled carpet. pre lease, i declared the carpet a deal breaker due to my allergies, and she was so full of it that she made promises she couldn't keep. even with email documentation of this arrangement, manager Lynn Kramer backed Heidi, because this hollow promise wasn't written into the lease. they also lied about the usability of the fireplace. before we signed the lease, it was usable, but once we moved in we were told it was not usable. turns out this is because the chimney foundation was falling away from the back of the building and the chimney was full of birds. if lawsuits weren't so ugly and expensive and i didn't have a life, i would have taken them to court. all lies and cat issues aside, it was also electrically not safe. During occupancy: -the fridge started smoking, which they reluctantly replaced after it reached the point it had to be unplugged. turns out the compressor couldn't handle all the prior owner's cat hair and some of it began to burn. -the dryer (which had no thermostat to begin with and a literally melted lint screen) cooked it's own internal power cord and had to be replaced, again reluctantly by windermere -loose outlets scorched the plugs of other appliances, and they threatened to saddle me with the electrician's bill when we demanded someone inspect them. over the course of 3 calls the electrician swapped out two breakers and 13 outlets in our time there. had i not put my foot down we could have burned in our sleep. -there was peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling and brown oozing out of the drywall when the humidity rose (from a prior smoking occupant? who knows. still nasty) many stalling excuses were made about having to discuss repairs with the owner (who has his office right there at windermere on Nye st) but all they want is to harvest the money. at the end of the lease we cleaned the apartment better than it had been when we moved in, including a hands & knees scrubbing of the oven, appliances, etc, and they subsequently charged hundreds of dollars in cleaning fees. these bottomfeeders want ignorant student tenants whose parents are not in town so they can fleece them for substandard housing. they should feel shame, but they don't. these are not good people. The previous reviews are right. We had little choice but to rent a home through this company. The market is tight in Pullman for rental homes. Don't believe anything they tell you. Verify everything. The owner of the company is rude to say the least. I'm sure he has created endless complaints throughout the community. The house they rented us was supposed to be clean and ready to go. NOT TRUE! It was a filthy mess and needed much cleaning to make it livable. Be very careful with your privacy issues. They sent us someone else's background information instead of a blank form. I sincerely question the integrity of this so called company. They should never have the Windermere name on it. Maybe this is the new way Windermere operates? DO NOT DO ANY sort of business through Windermere in Pullman! As the other reviews point out, the staff is extremely rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate, and fraudulent. Heidi is the only employee that I ever had a good experience with, but it didn't matter seeming Lynn (the property manager) made a conscious effort to not care about her tenants. This place is fraudulent and I am in the process of reporting them to the Windermere franchise. They will charge you for every little mark throughout the house that was there prior to you moving in. I had my family come over the last weekend of our lease to help clean, we spent nearly 18 hours cleaning and in the end got charged over $600 from our security deposit for "cleaning services." When a tenant causes damage to a particular area of the house they charge that tenant, then they continue to charge each and every subsequent tenant after that for the same damage creating a steady income stream. This is completely fraudulent and prospective tenants should stay far away from Lynn or else you will be taken advantage of. Not to mention it is very obvious she does not enjoy her job. read more

The WORST company to rent or buy from hands down. Lynn K. and her daughter Alise are the rudest people you will ever encounter. How they ended up in real estate is mind blowing. If you ever try to call the office they will try and make you feel like it's always a bother for them. Try it for yourself. Call Lynn for the heck of it and ask a random question about rentals, see if I'm wrong. It's sad cause Pullman's a small town. Go with another realtor for your own sanity. Don't they realize their renters are going to eventually be buyers. I plan to buy in late 2015 and Windermere will not be on the list of realtors I'd be willing to work with. read more

The staff is a collection of inattentive, sloppy, and outright rude individuals led by Lynn Kramer, who seems genuinely disinterested in actually helping the business succeed. PULLMAN RENTERS BEWARE!!! Pay close attention to the reviews of Windermere Rentals, Pullman, WA. There ARE reputable, we'll run rental agencies in the area...STAY AWAY from Windermere! This is an individually owned real estate/rental agency. I was given a checklist, detailing how clean my rental would be for my arrival. Of course you pay 1st, last and your damage deposit prior to moving in, with NO VERIFICATION that your rental will be in the condition as stated by Windermere. Our Windermere Rental was a filth pit, had mold growing in the dishwasher, grease throughout the kitchen cupboards, walls and drawers. It also had urine stained toilets, holes in walls, holes in floors, items in non-working condition...the home had NOT been maintained, period. Lynn, the assistant was made aware of the disgusting condition the rental was left for us to move into. Instead of hiring a professional cleaning crew to fix the situation, she went the unprofessional way of sending another rental assistant to hand wipe a few items. Even though the carpets were supposed to be shampooed for us, they were full of gray pet hair, with orange and brown stains, and the rental had a terrible mildew smell. We hired a local, REPUTABLE carpet cleaning agency...it was a lot of work for them to clean the mess that was left for us. Oh, and best of all, we had to clean the entire home ourselves!
