Totally laid back attitude keeps us coming back. Love this place, great location need bakery, beach, restaurants, etc. The kids love the pool.

The BAD: 1. If you're a smoker then you've come to the right place. Everyone here smokes, or so it seems. Whenever I walked out of my room I would get blasted with a smoke cloud. Everywhere I went around this place, someone was smoking. If you don't smoke, stear clear of this place. 2. Wifi. I couldn't get any service from my 1st floor room the whole time. Talk about annoying. And when I let the guy at the desk know he acted like I was the first person with this complaint. He said he would reboot it, acted like it all all ok. Nothing. After 2-3 times of mentioning it, I gave up. It's not like I sit on my phone the whole time, but it's nice to have internet when you want it. Especially if they advertise they have it. 3. This place is old, basic and in desperate need of a makeover. If you forget your shampoo, you're out of luck. None here. 4. Overpriced for what you get. Just not a classy place by any stretch. The GOOD: 1. Location. Short walk to the beautiful, not overly crowed Seaside Park beach and boardwalk. 2. Friendly staff in the restaurant. We ate breakfast at their little diner every morning. 3. Bar 4. Pool - but never went in it 5. Small room refrigerator which we used for waters and one bottle of wine Would we come again? No, I don't think so.

Dimly lit bedroom - check out that paneling!

Seek other places to stay on the jersey shore with your family, this place should have been updated 10 years ago, not sure why the very decent and kindly family who run the joint don't just sell it to developers. Bath towels are about the size of hand towels, loud AC units and badly outdated furniture and efficiencies and paneled walls that look something out of the Brady Bunch. The whole place stunk like smoke. Don't ruin your vacation like we did - stay away from this place!

Great place! The rooms have little kitchens and very cozy... The owner is very welcoming... I will definitely book again.

I'm convinced that people who leave poor reviews for motels don't realize what they're getting…read morethemselves into. Seaside isn't Martha's Vineyard or the Hamptons. You're not staying at the Ritz Carlton. Yes, the Sunburst Motel probably needs renovating since it was last decorated decades ago. Yes, there were cigarette burns in the bedding. However, it's clean for the most part, which can't be said about all of the motels in Seaside Heights. The bathroom was very nice. No, there isn't shampoo, body wash, or conditioner. Unfortunately, you'll have to stop by the local CVS and pick up a couple travel sized bottles. You'll survive. Some pros about our stay at Sunburst: There was a functional triple lock on the door. Definitely helps to know that we're safe. The beds were incredibly comfortable and warm despite the cigarette burn holes. That didn't really bother us too much. The bedding was clean. No bed bugs. We had a nice room with two beds, a kitchenette, TV, and refrigerator. The man who runs the front desk was very nice and helpful. I forgot to get his name but he was very friendly. It's very close to the middle of the boardwalk and beach. There was only one con about staying here. It's very loud and the walls are thin. We had noisy neighbors. Not really a fault of the motel but Seaside typically attracts the louder and younger crowd. Not a huge issue. There's also no daily maid service which doesn't bother us but I know that's a deal breaker for some. Overall, this is a comfortable, fairly clean, and safe place to stay in Seaside Heights. Again, don't come here if you're looking for a ritzy hotel. You'll definitely be disappointed. In fact, don't come to the Jersey Shore at all if you want to go somewhere classy. This isn't it. If you just want a comfortable and pleasant stay, this is a good option. Believe me, there are a lot of motels in the area that are in horrible condition and I would not feel safe staying at. Sunburst isn't one of them. It deserves the four stars. The Charlroy Motel is also another family friendly option in the area. More expensive and on the quieter side of town but worth the money. They were booked for the summer so Sunburst was our next option and they didn't disappoint!

Went to Seaside Heights on a spontaneous overnight trip…read more Found a convenient parking lot next to beach. I asked parking attendant for motel recommendations. He gave Sunburst a thumbs up. Nice simple room, refrigerator, working AC. Clean room and bathroom! The pool is heated and great for evening use! Tyler, was very accommodating and gave us great restaurant recommendations! Gotta check out Sunset seafood! Good thing Tyler mentioned it was BYOB! Would definitely stay there again and recommend! Thanks Tyler!
