If you want a hotel that clean, on the boardwalk, close to the beach and rides, and at the time allowed pets (please do not change!) you won't find better. Mohammed and his staff are awesome. Mint lemon water and coffee are provided everyday in the lobby. Centrally located and yes it's a little ran down but aren't all the hotels in Seaside Heights?? I personally think it's all about the staff in the Seaside side Heights hotels and BHC staff are all TOP TIER, helpful, professional & knowledgeable of the scene. This is gonna be a long one so Buckle up! Went down to seaside for my birthday weekend and all I wanted was a relaxing room with a balcony for a great ocean view. Find this place and from the pictures it looked decent with a great view and an even better price. I should have read reviews first. We got there Friday afternoon, took about 10 minutes for me to find someone to check in, no biggie. I asked the person on duty where to park my truck because it's a small parking lot, the guy says "this will be designated for your truck and points to a perfect parking spot. We unload and go to our room on the 3rd floor, steps were slippery as all hell, same with the painted walkway. We see there's a huge puddle from the air conditioner outside of our room, kind of a bad spot but whatever. Get in the room and it was far beyond ANY picture shown on their website. It smelled weird but we figured it was due to the humidity and mixture of sea air. Pulled the bed covers back to put our own stuff on there, hair on the sheets, not talking about head hair either. Immediately went down to get fresh sheets, the guy kind of just tossed them to us and went about his business. We go to change everything and there's urine stains on the mattress cover. Annoyed but still wanting to make the best of it, my girlfriend and I switched stuff over with the other bed. The bathroom sink was barely mounted to the vanity cabinet, rocking back and forth as I was brushing my teeth. We left the hotel to go watch the eagles game, got back around 1 am to zero parking in the parking lot. I called the number on the door 5 times no answer. There was one spot dead middle, I parked my F250 in that spot but noticed everyone else could simply drive forward to get out. 115 am rolls around and there's a loud banging on the door as I'm trying to get the hot water in the shower (that looks like it hasn't been washed properly in a month) to work. It was the "manager" who looked like he's been up for 3 days bangin lines, speeding around talking so fast that we could barley understand him. He starts flipping out about how my truck can't be parked there and I need to move it. I say something about the room and hot water and he just barges in the room right for the bathroom without asking.says it was a beautiful room and then says it's just the the shower knob was broken and needed to be played with. I ask him where he expects me to park my truck when everything is meter parking only and I told him that the previous guy working said he'd block off and reserve that spot for me. I told him that I called him 5 times and argued that I didn't and when I show him I did he said "oh sorry I left my phone at the other hotel" He tells me to park almost 2 blocks down the road and he'll give me a parking pass, all while getting in my face and telling me how he "managed Hilton hotels for 20 years" so as we're arguing in the middle of Ocean Terrace, he decides to show us a "deluxe remodeled suite" at no extra charge we could have it. We view the room, I pull the sheets back, again hair that's not off someone's head on the sheets. So now my girlfriends upset and tells him she wants her money back and we will leave, he said he can't do that. And of course after threatening with the health board and disputing the credit card charges he says "come down at 8 am and I'll refund you your money" and hands me a parking pass to "park anywhere in seaside with out paying a meter. 8 am rolls around nobody's there in the office. Called him 4 times because we wanted out. He finally shows up and is demanding i give back the parking pass he gave me to park over night. Which was a lie that pass doesn't work anywhere because I received a 45 dollar ticket for "non payment of meter." No sooner as he says this a woman comes in who's also staying there and complains that there's no shower curtain on her shower, it smells, and the beds were unsanitary. So it wasn't just our room. Highly recommend to STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this place. read more

Don't trust the website pictures. This hotel is a complete DUMP. I'm only giving it one star because 0 stars is not an option. This place was so disgusting that it's going to haunt my dreams for years to come. I'm actually not sure if this is a legitimate hotel or just a flop house. I reserved the "Oceanfront Premier" room for Memorial Day weekend. There was nothing premier about it. Let me take you on a photographic journey through this abysmal house of horrors. We get to our room and find the bottom panel of the window on the floor inside the room. The front desk attendant came to fix it and said the only way to keep it from coming out again would be to "screw it closed, but then you can't open it." Gee, fire hazard much? No thank you. It was a good thing we said no to that suggestion because the next morning my kids safety-latched the door from inside, and because the latch was improperly mounted on the door frame it got stuck when they tried to leave the room. My husband (who was outside the room) had to climb through the window to get inside and un-jam the latch. Moving further into the bedroom we have shabby, falling apart furniture and beds that still had the stickers on the parts for assembly purposes. And please behold the microwave, the door to which is missing the outer cover. Which I guess is fine if you like your microwave popcorn to come with a side of radiation. The TV setup is laughable, and that's when the TV doesn't get hung up buffering - which was about 80% of the time. The Great Wall of China is more visible from space than this tv was from six feet away. And there was only one key to the room because it is LITERALLY a key. And when I asked housekeeping for an extra blanket this was how it was handed to me: in a wad. For a moment I thought he got confused and handed me the dirty blanket he'd just pulled off someone else's bed (which might have actually been the case). And let's take a moment to admire the superior bathroom: not even a bar on the toilet paper holder. Or maybe this bathroom is just way ahead of its time and the roll of toilet paper is supposed to magically hover between the mounting brackets like some sort of bathroom sorcery of the future. And note the supposed premium toiletries. As with the room, this bathroom looks nothing like the website photos. And the vanity top wasn't installed properly, so it was wobbly and unsteady. While the room left a lot to be desired it definitely made up for its shortcomings with nicely curated layers of filth. That kind of patina takes time my friends and I'm pretty sure that work has been in progress since Chris Christie famously sat on neighboring Island Beach State Park during COVID. But wait, there's more. If you're thinking, "that's great, but I like my accommodations to be dirty and gross through and through" have I got good news for you. The decrepit conditions aren't limited to the room. Please see the pictures of the interior stairwell. I'm pretty sure the Astrodome looked better than this after it was used as a Katrina shelter. If this is how this place looks at the start of the season I can't imagine what it will look like by the end. This place takes "deferred maintenance" to a whole new level. You might ask, "what did you expect from Seaside?" And that would be a fair question. I expected, for a room billed as premier and depicted as nicely as it is on the website, accommodations that were more than a half-step up from a Turkish prison. I finally decided to mention my utter disgust when I checked out. The man at the desk - the same guy who offered to violate probably every fire code by screwing shut the alternate means of emergency egress - tried to explain it away by saying, "you picked a busy weekend. This is prom weekend." Excuse me, but what does that have to do with these deplorable, inferior conditions? I'm pretty sure this place wasn't exactly in mint condition three days prior. When I said that my issues had nothing to do with it being prom weekend he fell back on, "why didn't you say something sooner?" Right. I don't even think that a wrecking ball taken to this festering ulcer of a hotel would have cured all of its defects, so I don't know what good would have come of me saying something sooner. What, get moved to a room that was even worse? I had a quick look around and I'm pretty sure my room was THE NICEST. I'm actually not sure what's worse: Hotel Charlee or the decrepit, abandoned Eastern State Penitentiary. Please don't just take my word for this. Look at the pictures and decide for yourself. You can clearly see the difference between how this place appears on the website and what it looks like IRL. I can't really review this place because we never actually stayed there but we did book a room and ended up canceling. After booking, I was told I'd receive confirmation via text and never did. We were fooled by this place's website. After seeing the pictures of the broken locks on the door and the shoddy rooms I called to cancel my reservation. I just had a really bad feeling about it. People on the phone were friendly when I called but I asked if I could receive something in writing confirming my cancellation and they said, "Oh we don't do confirmations. You'll have to check with your bank to find out if the refund went through". Seems highly unprofessional to not send confirmations for hotel bookings. I will be checking with my bank to ensure that I receive my refund in full. We found another motel in the area that seems a lot better and more professional. This place is literally the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I wish I could give it less stars than 1. After booking 2 nights by going off of the advertised pictures my son and I arrived to the building and make our way up the dilapidated stairs and we're high by the time we go to the 3rd floor from the amount of weed smoke. Once we got to our room and had to use my shoulder to get the dented filthy door open because it looked like the police busted it down several times we were greeted by Atleast 100 flies. I call the hotel office and tell them and they agreed to take care of it with spray and fly traps. That never happened. We were so distracted by the flies we didn't even notice the condition of the room at first. Now that we were done killing as many flies that we could we noticed how bad the room actually was. The bed mattress was so old and broke down you sank to the box spring. The pull out couch that my son had to sleep on looked like EVERYONE pulled out on it. I'm pretty sure they purchased it from a casting couch porn site. The bathroom had a physically dirty tub with a brown stained bath mat. We both needed a shower but refused to shower in there in fear of catching something with our bare feet. Your shoes stuck to the carpet like glue when walking around. The walls were physically dirty, they only gave my son a sheet for the pull out couch and my bed had a sheet and a duvet cover with no blanket in it. We called the desk for blankets and they said they would bring them and they never showed up. Later that night I went to the office to politely tell them we wouldn't be staying the second night after all and requested our money back. I was told I had to go through Expedia since I booked through them. After contacting Expedia and playing middle man the clerk got upset with me and threw me out of the office. It's been a week and I still haven't received the refund the hotel and Expedia said I would receive. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

DON'T STAY HERE!!! Checked in to the room early which was great. Other than that it was HORRIBLE experience. The door to the room is broken. The bed was so close to the bathroom that the bathroom door wouldn't open. So we had to push the bed over so we could open the bathroom door. The bed is not connected to the headboard so the bed is always moving around. The sheets have sand on them. Had to ask for hand towels because the room didn't have any. The pictures definitely look nicer online. People are partying and letting a dog & kids ran around from 11:30pm until past MIDNIGHT. Customer service sucks. I had to call the front desk twice. And threaten to leave the second time I called before someone at the first desk would tell them to be quiet. Clearly whoever was managing the first desk didn't tell them to stop the first time. False advertising! Room was a crackhouse, bed straight prison quality along with dirty black stains with sheets covered in previous make up and unknown stains. Power outage every 3 minutes. FriSFE and microwave rusted and molded. Agent gave us 1 key only while later early am 3:11pm a stranger entered our room with his own key causing complete panic. The ran off and left the spare key to our room. The renral agent did absolutely nothing to console us and would not replay the cameras to show what happened. Unsafe environment and not habitable. AWFUL. Dirty towels in front of hotel room and the bed sheets were definitely not changed (dirt and stained). My boyfriend worked in hotels for 10 years and he said this is the worst room he has ever seen. The entire room smelled of mold and mildew, and the bathroom was in such bad repair that I did not want to go anywhere near it. The room we were given (room #1) was in such horrible shape (paint chipping, dropped ceiling tiles were all cracked, rusted bathroom organize4 above the toilet). My boyfriend and I ended up leaving the hotel at 10:30PM that day and drove 4 hours back home. We left our car tag and door key in the office. See photo of dirty AC outside of the hotel office. The reviews arent the greatest and we dont understand why. We just got back from our stay. We arrived early considering check in was 3pm they allowed us in room at 1pm. The gentleman at desk 8/17 around 12:30 was so friendly and accomidating. We got our room it was #3 on 2nd floor. Yes room was small but it was just for 2 adults. It was updated w ceramic tile flooring, nice wallpaper, floating nitestands (to save room) refrigerator, ac and 1 chair and dresser plus tv was mounted on wall. We had 1 queen bed, the bed was comfortable and included 4 pillows. The bathroom was also updated w new sink and vanity plus shower. The AC was kick butt it was pretty cold in there so i recommend warm jammies. Parking lot was small we got lucky w a spot and just kept her parked until we left this am. The gentleman at check in also told us of 2 other properties they own with pools. We took advantage of the Redroof inns pool, spent couple hours over there. The pool was small with lots of lounge chairs (awesome 2inch cushions) and 2 areas w a tent for shade. The manager at that hotel did come out and introduced himself we told him hotel charlee said we could swim. He said np and was also very friendly!!! My fiancé and I booked at this hotel for September 16-18. When we arrived, the place reeked of weed & looked like it was owned by crackheads. #1 we booked at the hotel Charlee, we were placed in the hotel across the street. #2 they claimed to have onsite parking, which was 2 blocks down in an alley. We were placed in an "upgraded" room which was disgusting & there were bugs in the sheets. I called and went to the front desk & demanded a refund because we were leaving immediately. The person at the front desk claimed he issued us a refund. Days later, the man at the front desk stated that it was Expedias responsibility because we booked through the site. When discussing the issue with Expedia, because we planned to pay after our stay, the hotel is responsible for issuing us a refund. Not to mention, we were charged the full amount the week before our planned stay. We've called multiple times and they claimed to have issues us a refund. when asked for a receipt, they claimed to have emailed us however no email was sent and no refund has been issued. This place is a DUMP. All of the pictures of this place are either fraudulent and deceiving. Service was rude and in a hurry. Parking is a joke. The place is dirty and run down big time. None of the amenities were true. No wifi, no working tv, no blackout curtains, no coffee and tea offered in common area. And our "balcony" was the common walk way area. Don't waste your money. If you are looking strictly for a hotel on the boardwalk then this is it, otherwise this is the WORST hotel (and shouldn't be considered a hotel, more a motel) . But not for the cost of what we paid. Here is a a list of issues: Tiny rooms, barely enough room for 2 double beds. Toilet paper holder nowhere to be found. Holes in ceiling, no iron or board in room or anywhere. WIFI was terrible, basically non existent, hot water for shower took about 5-10 minutes to come up, towels in bathroom were equivalent to worn out gym towels, shower stall disgustingly dirty, no ice machine, advertised coffee makers, no coffee in rooms or what was considered lobby area. Supposedly no smoking rooms, but when you turn on the vent to the bathroom it was sucking in cigarette smoke from another room. Although a small room it only had ONE lamp for lighting. They supply you with a number to text if you need anything. But you text and text with no reply. You call the number and goes straight to VM. Parking is horrendous. Cars parked in front and behind you. We were checking out at 0925, vehicle parked behind me. I had to go into the office to find out who's vehicle it was. Come to find out the owners were already on the boardwalk beach. We had to wait until they returned to move our vehicle, took about 30 minutes, delaying our departure. Room had no deadbolt only a chain on the door. Not to mention the TV once we got to the room, would not work properly. Someone had to come up to correct the problem. 2 tiny garbage cans in the room, not enough for just one night of garbage. Overall, dirty, dilapidated, disgusting mess. The "Queen" sized bed was a Full, and the free amenities (ice, breakfast, coffee, etc) were located in a "sister" motel FIVE BLOCKS away. Took the manager 15 minutes to open the lobby door for me (at 4pm). This place is a dive, the wood is held together by the crusted up salt, the parking lot is smaller than that of a 7-Eleven. This is the most disgusting hotel that I have ever stayed in, but the reason i am posting this review is because we brought our dog with us - and we left him in the hotel room for a few hours, and even called the hotel to let them know we didn't need our (disgusting) room cleaned, as to not bother the dog........ THEY LOCKED MY DOG IN THE BATHROOM- with the lights off. Why did they do this!? DO THEY NOT understand how TRAUMATIZING that is? My dog had his own dog bed, and food and water in the room, but then SOMEONE PUT HIM INTO A DARK BATHROOM, with nothing on the tile floor, and NO WATER. This is TORTURE for a dog. This is INEXCUSABLE. Do not stay here. Do not even think about staying here. The shower curtain was stained, and moldy. The comforters on the bed were GREASY. The tiles on the floor are not secured, they wobble, and make all kinds of noise.(safety issue?) The blinds and ceiling tiles were broken. The remote for the TV did not work. The hallways outside the room are disgusting, covered in cigarette butts and hair balls, and even towels covered in throw up. There was trash piled up and left in corners. This little motel is GREAT! We came to the shore from Westchester for the day and decided we wanted to make a day of it and stay overnight. Called and asked for availability. Omar ROCKS! He is a very accommodating and helpful young man. Arrived early and spent some time on the deck. Perfect location directly on the boardwalk and the beach. Spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach. Again, this motel is all about accessibility and convenience. You don't come to small beach towns like this expecting luxury. Your time is spent outside. Id give -5 stars if i could!! The room we reserved was not what was pictured / promised online. Parking lot was not enough for all guests, we were told we can go 2 blocks down the road to their sister hotel to which there were limited very tight spaces at that or that we can pay to park somewhere else, the room door lock was unsecure / loose and outside light was visible through door lock mechanism and door frame, smoke detector was in drawer with no batteries in it, large chunks of paint peeling around window, A/C unit didn't work, bed frame extremely loose and wiggled when attempted to sit on as legs in middle of the metal frame were bent, leftover mess from pervious guest was not cleaned which was dried food / liquid on top of fridge and not only did that smell but a strong smell of pot as well, bed had to be physically moved to shut bathroom door and once shut wouldn't close all the way anyway, sand all over the floor and dingy / dirty bathroom, this was an ocean front room but the room door opened to the roof top balcony to which all hotel guests accessed, no view of the ocean at all. All in all, this room was unsafe for sanitary and security and when I immediately went to the manager to express my concerns he said he needed time as he had 2 other guests in lobby area complaining about their rooms as well. We went to grab something to eat and returned a short time later to which he told me and my children that this was not his problem, he has that room for us to use and we need to just be happy and go to our room. I told him that this is not acceptable and its not what we booked and he said too bad, its what you have. I then asked for our money back so we can go stay somewhere else and he said that I didn't give him a chance, I again said what can you do for us and he said nothing you can just go, I asked for a refund and he said no way, no refunds even if not what we thought we were booking, not his problem ! we left and went to another hotel for our stay in Seaside Heights. I wish I could leave no stars. The only postive note about this hotel is the view. The rooms look nothing like the listings, it is run down and dirty, and management was absent at best. We came to see the sights while visiting and chose the location due to it being on the boardwalk. We paid a pretty penny. When we checked in they said they were upgrading us to "ocean view" due to the storm rolling in. We waited a while to have them finish cleaning the room, and went up when told. When we got to our room, the room service maid was LAYING on one of the beds. The floor was soaking wet, and the room smelled like urine. When we went to the bathroom, there was urine all over the toilet and mold on the counter. We also couldn't get the door to close, as the chain was broken. We went about our business and went to the boardwalk before the storm got worse. When we came back we couldn't get into our room, and the door was "broken". We tried to notify management, and they were at another hotel. We stood waiting for someone to let us in as winds of 45 mph and rain pouring, soaking us. Once we were let back into the room, we had to leave our door open for the handy man to fix the door, which took over an hour as he kept leaving. We couldn't even stay as when we turned the sheets down and they were riddled with brown spots! We again went to management and they laughed us off. We tried to discuss options and possible refund and they refused. They kept saying that the "upgrade" was our refund. It was terrible. I was disgusted and no one seemed concerned. read more

Yesterday at 3:30 I booked room HC 127 at Seaside Heights thru the Boardwalk Hotel. The woman at the desk said I should book the room directly with her to avoid additional fees. I came home to find out that my husband's schedule at the hospital changed and we cannot do the weekend. The woman at the desk did not inform me of their cancellation policy, which had to be before 60 days of the reservation. But I booked it 10 days before the reservation. Everywhere (even the airlines) have a 24 hour cancellation policy that excludes any additional charges. When I called to cancel the next morning they said I would forfeit my deposit of $422. Do not ever ever stay at any of the hotels under J& Co. as they are not reasonable people. Amy read more

The first room we were given my fiance noticed ants pretty quickly so he asked for a new room and we didn't notice any ants. The next morning the bathroom and room was filled with ants! We packed our things and went to the Hershey motel which was great . read more

Horrible disgusting dirty smelly Hotel, looks like they don't even know what housekeeping  or maintenance is! Everything is covered in dust or crumbs doesn't look like the places been swept and mopped once this summer frigerator and microwave still has food caked-on it  !! Bathroom is disgusting walls have cracks on it! tiles in bathroom have mold on it! AC has been on high all day and this teeny little room is still hot! Person before me checking in was demanding their money back and threatening to call the health department, I decided regardless of all of the negative here I'm only spending one night and going to stay anyway, Big mistake! Should have demanded my money back like the last person.. I went to ask something from the front desk regarding the lack of parking  just before and a different customer was yelling and complaining that the place is filthy and now the sink won't work and how could they expect him to stay where he can't even wash his hands! I know this post is a little bit all over the place but I'm just writing as I'm thinking. There is nothing positive about this place completely disgusting and all negative if I can give it negative Stars I'd give it a negative 5!! If i could give this place 0 stars i would , Disgusting and unprofessional staff work here this place should honestly close down and start from scratch clean house. On the ad there was said to be free parking & room service their were neither the 6 car parking lot was half taken up by their staff and i was told a story that they were holding the parking spot for another customer even thought they were not there then a hour later told a different story that it was there employees car and they had to leave it was the same car.. which made no sense , as the conversations were getting more and more upsetting another customer walks in and ask the same questions about parking . i was told that because i booked through Expedia , by Mohammad the manager at the front desk that he is doing me a favor by even telling me about the parking lot and that since i didn't book it directly from them that my cars safety didn't matter to there establishment.this isn't even the best part so then my friends were kicked out after driving 4 hrs to celebrate my birthday and maybe physically being in the room for only a hour before us walking on the boardwalk they were put out at 2:30 am because they asked for utensils and ice . The first conversation they had with the manager was at 11pm they then called at 2pm to check for room service 2:30 he calls my girlfriends phone asking if she called the front desk she said she did and he responds it wasn't u but it doesn't matter because i called the cops to kick out the customers in the room we were hanging out in ,obviously she is going to be upset and she expressed it he didn't care and said that my friends were rude and needed to go no conversation besides asking for things a motel or hotel should have and they were kicked out . so lets summarize this they were kicked out for calling for room service , ice, and asking about parking which is all the things on the AD they said they had. Back to the story police came to the motel and my friend explained his side and of course because its private property they had to leave which they did with out any fighting or commotion . my birthday was friday which was ruined their anniversary was that Sunday which soon youll see was ruined as well we all were so happy to stay and thought we were but after that horrible experience i will say never go to this MOTEL EVER & this is going to be a very long review because that's not where it ends. In the mist of my friend and the manager going back and forth a Black bald headed security guard ( who works right next to the hotel at the $20 dollar parking so i don't get anyone who should not get in trouble i want to be specific )who came from another motel starts vouching for the guy and disrespecting us when we were trying to keep the situation as calm as possible the next day we are walking and my friend says oh that's the security from yesterday and that was the end of the conversation , the security then goes on to disrespect us saying were bitches were dickheads and calling our gfs bitches & they said nothing to him . The disrespect from the security from the motel manager mohoomad was horrible i hope no one ever goes back here and i hope higher ups of this motel make extreme renovations and changes with there staff. hope this helps anyone looking to book this place . read more

Honestly this place doesn't even deserve a 1 star, it deserves none because it was so horrendous. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone under ANY circumstances. It's better to sleep on the beach than this hotel. Upon getting there the parking lot was filled and while it stated there was parking on premises there was literally 10 spots, 2 of which were blocked by employee vehicles. When asking the front desk manager on duty if he could please remove the cars so we could use the spot they were blocking he got infuriated and told us we were lucky he was even letting us use an off site parking lot. Meanwhile the off site parking lot was 4 blocks away and was also full. He then told us we could use another hotels lot which was an additional 3 blocks away. We had a lot of luggage and it wasn't feasible so we ended up having to park on the street and pay for overnight parking. When finally getting into the room aside from the fact that a 5x5 trailer would of been larger our front door didn't have a lock and neither did the bathroom. The ac was broken and didn't work which was another part of the horrible experience since we stayed in August and it was scorching hot. The bed was dirty and made the worst screeching sounds whenever you sat or moved a little. Everything In the room was slanted to the point that when I put my phone on the dresser it fell off and shattered the back glass of a new phone I just bought. When we called to ask if the hotel provided ice or room service(another amenity mentioned on its online advertising) the manager again got mad and told us he would kick us out for continuing to ask for things. He argued with us as well as friends who were staying there and another group of people who later came and were also frustrated with the service being given. The manager Mohammad was disgustingly rude, abrasive and a horrible employee especially in a hospitality industry setting. There are over 25 hotel/motels in the jersey shore and this should never be one you visit. Horrendous experience. Horrendous service. Horrendous hotel! read more
