I absolutely love my new shutters! They provide much needed relief from the sun and can finally enjoy the second floor deck! The consultation was quick and had everything measured out. Product selection was even easier. I opted to do something I haven't seen before as I wanted my water views unobstructed. They turned out perfect. The shutters are adjustable and don't require tools to move them out. All of the hardware is powder coated aluminum so I don't have any worries about rust or wear. I had all the sides and back windows replace, I was happy I didn't have them replace th windows in front. the worst company I could hav gotten. Installers went to the wrong address. Cancellations of installation; no show of installer; Installers were hours late for appointment... not even a phone call, no communication skills. i had the old wooden windows on my 1967 ranch replaced about a year and a half ago. The sales rep from Window World was knowledgeable and there were no pressure tactics to make me feel uncomfortable. The crew came out and removed the old windows and installed the new ones in one day. I have 16 windows. They cleaned up and left no mess, came back the next day and sealed them. Boom! I wouldn't recommend Window World to anyone! I had a horrible experience with them in the replacement of my sliding glass door. I have had to deal with incompetence, missing multiple days of work, and straight up lies from this company. Buying the door is the easiest part because Troy was very friendly and informative, but it goes downhill from there. For 5 months I have had to deal with this company trying to get what I ordered installed. From installing a door backwards because it was the wrong door to the panels being scratched to being promised new doors and then the day of the install being told there's no new doors and they were just to "flip" them instead to them breaking the wheels on the screen door when installing it to having to wait 2 months get another one. I pray this door never breaks because I never want to have to call them again. In my opinion, there are other places in Charleston that can do this work so save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere. *Update* Please note that throughout the ordeal, Frank did try to make everything right which he did attempt to do and even reduced the remaining balance owed to compensate for the troubles caused and our lost wages. read more

I'd like to start off by saying I love the new windows. I think they are perfect for my home. The reason I am giving them such a poor rating is because of the entire headache of a process to get the windows done. I set up an Estimate and one of their men came to home, took measurements, went over different kind of windows with me, and gave me a price. He was super professional, super nice, and he didn't make me feel pressured to commit or anything like that. He was one of the only good things about this company. I told him I wanted to go ahead and proceed with the deposit. He did inform me that there would be a 8-10 weeks delay because of COVID-19-- which is completely understandable. We are going through a pandemic and I did not want to hold that delay against them. I'm sure millions of companies are hurt because of this. So I wait 8 weeks. On the 9th week I call the company asking for an update on my windows. The girl tells me it looks like the Manufacturer has not gotten back to them on it yet. She said she would contact them and then call me back. She didn't call me back. On the 10th week we repeat this process. The girl tells me the manufacturer has not gotten back to them yet and that she would call be back with an update. She didn't call me back. On the 11th week, you guess it, same exact process. 12th week. This time I get a young man. He tells me that the manufacture has not gotten back to them yet but he would call them and send them an email. I ask him to look at my file and let me know if anyone else has tried to contact the manufacturer. He brings it to my attention that the past three weeks I called there were no notes about anyone reaching out to the manufacture. Of course, I'm pretty upset by this. I've called 3 weeks in a row, been told I would get a call back, and never got that call back. Thank god for this young man because the very next day he called me back and said the windows would be in the following week on Tuesday. So I wait. On Wednesday I don't receive a call for scheduling, so on Thursday I called them again to ask if the windows had arrived and if I could get on the schedule. The girl told me it looked like rain for the next two weeks so they were not scheduling. I told her I understood-- no one can work outside in the rain. So I ask to schedule for three weeks out. She tells me "We don't really do that." Right. Okay. I understand you gotta watch the weather, but I'd rather get on the schedule and possibly be rescheduled than wait even longer for these things. She says she'll call be back on Tuesday. I end up calling them on Tuesday during my lunch break-- just was a good time. She was very polite, got me on the schedule for two weeks from then, and we go on our marry way. Then the date arrives. I'm scheduled for 9am. I'm awake at 8am, doing my morning things just as happy as a person can be and receive a call from Window World. I think It was just updating me that their installers were on their way. Nope. The girl on the other line tells me "I have some bad news." Seriously. "Our installer didn't show up today." Excuse me? Your installer just.... didn't show up? I'd understand if he was sick, or in traffic, or something happened but they just... didn't show up? I asked to be rescheduled ASAP. She told me two days from then, same time. I hang up. Now I'm mad. I feel I have been extremely patient with this company given everything that has happened. I'm not going to take it out on their CSRs though. That isn't right. But I call back, get a different woman, and express my complete and utter frustration win the company taking a what some supposed to be a 10 week process and extending it to nearly 15. I have tried to be so patient given the state of the world. I really have, but that last minute reschedule was the final straw for me. The girl tells me that on Friday one of the OWNERS of the company would call me discuss discounts for the troubles. I get it, she's just a CSR there isn't much else she can do. So I tell her I'll wait for their call on Friday. The gentlemen come, install my windows, and leave. It was easy, quick, and they were nice. A few hours later a CSR calls me. Not the owner. She tells me my balance and all I can do is laugh. They gave me no discount. No discount for 5 weeks over what was expected and a last minute reschedule. I wasn't expecting much but at least SOMETHING. Will never go back to this company again. read more

We ordered doors for our house and the salesman ordered the wrong color. Window World would not make good on it because I signed the contract with the wrong color on it. Said it was my fault. The only fault I have in this was trusting the salesman to order the color I picked out. Now I have a $9,000 door that doesn't match my garage doors. Also the people whom window world subcontracted out to install the doors, did a terrible job. Now Jay who had to come out and fix the other guys mistakes, was awesome. In 2002 I purchased new windows for my home from Window World. Recently I had some major water damage below and above the windows. When I brought in a contractor to repair the damage, he pointed out that the window flashing was installed incorrectly with a slope back towards my house instead of sloping away from my house as would be the proper installation. He also stated this could have caused the damage. I contacted Window World and they sent out a salesman to inspect the area and he agreed that all the windows appeared to be installed incorrectly and that the slope of the window flashing should have been away from the house. I told the sales rep that it had been 15 to 20 years since the install so I did not expect new windows, but I would like to have the windows repaired and would like some consideration for the fact that it was installed incorrectly on a repair quote. After over a week of waiting and a call back from me, the Window World office said that there was a new owner, and he was not responsible for the improperly installed windows. Also, unless I wanted to install new windows, I should contact a general contractor as this was not their problem. I asked for the name of the owner at the time or the contractor. I was told the only thing they had was a first name for the contractor no license number and no other records and it was basically not their problem. Basically, they could sell the business from person to person and never have any responsibility for any poor install they do on your home. We had our windows put in many years ago and never had but one issue previous with a window. They ordered a new one and came and replaced it quickly . Excellent service . That excellent service has changed today. Called months ago to let them know a window had a film in between the pane , they ordered a new replacement window. we never heard from them for a long time. So I called them and asked the status of our order and they said " oh we have it right here "‍ like shouldn't they have called . We made an appt to have it installed which was a few weeks out (understandable)So we set up a day and time which was yesterday between 10-12. They called at 8:30 to tell me they are going to be more like lunchtime around 1. Waited all day . No show ,no call nothing! I call early the next morning and ask to speak with the person who helped me and she didn't answer so I left a message. No return called so I call a few hours later and was transferred. She explained she was unaware they didn't come to our house until this am but failed to call us to reschedule. Then told me she told them to put the order back on the truck to get done today between 3-5. But didn't feel the need to call me to let me know or to see if I was available for the reschedule . Took me calling them . Again no show , no call nothing very disappointed and our time is valuable too. I've recommended Window World to family in the past but that won't happen again. I got frustrated and went outside to cool off as to not get upset and was told when I got in "it's just an accident" as if I were not allowed to react the way I did. TOTALLY inappropriate. Quite inappropriately the worker handed me the sheet to sign where I checked off what was done well and what wasn't and said "please don't rate me too badly!" I didn't feel comfortable telling the truth on the paper Poked a hole in my screen and it wasn't repaired for almost a month Office assistant canceled work today by leaving a message, no follow up, no checking records for another phone number. Just one call. Whoever did the work today left my gate open and the dogs were loose when I let them out when I got home. When I called to speak with owner I was hung up on while I was still talking. Took you guys nearly a MONTH to properly charge my bank card. Unprofessional on top of unprofessional on top of unprofessional. December 22,2017 I'm not thrilled about reviewing a business, but am a little frustrated with Window World. Since they won't return my calls and finish their business with me, I felt I should do the only thing I can do at this point and that is share my experience with my friends. No one is perfect. During the installation they broke a window. They let me know they would replace it as well as two screens that were slightly torn and a window seal that was damaged. I'm okay with that. It's being fixed I was told. I signed off on their clean up job even though they didn't bring their magnet to pick up all the screws that I ended up picking up as well as insulation and other random trash. I'm still finding screws even now..even though the job was done Nov 29 & 30. We had originally decided to have all but the garage window replaced. It's just the garage, right? Well, we realized as they were putting them in it just looked bad to have one window that looked different then all the others. So I asked the installer to get me a quote for one more window. I have now called twice since the install 22 days ago. I was told on Nov 30 at the install that Tim, the guy who sold us on the windows, would call us with an estimate and that someone would come do a final inspection. When he didn't call after a few days I called the office and they said he would call me. After more than two weeks, I called again. The office attendant apologized and said she would have someone else, the owner call me back. That was Wednesday. After the amount of time, how often I've called and not to mention the amount of money this company is making on 12 replacement windows and a door, is it unreasonable for me to expect a call? Customer service is the life line to business. I'm not being unreasonable. We are happy with our product but at this point, not my service. Why is it always difficult to get follow ups from businesses, for them to FINISH their work? UPDATE:: the owner finally called me back and came out. He did replace my additional window at no cost and had the torn items fixed. I cleaned up the debris myself. September 11, 2018 Once again Window World has left there customer completely and utterly disgusted. We spent many frustrated hours trying to get the wood panels up to cover our new Window World windows so we can evacuate for a hurricane. The holes they cut on the boards aren't even close. We kept our boards in the garage, laid flat and completely dry as they recommended. Now, when we called to ask them to fix the problem, they tell us it is our responsibility to make sure they fit properly. They accused us of not putting them up correctly or not storing them properly. The BS keeps coming from them. They flat out told me that they would not fix the problem. Here I am again about the same company. When we should be focusing on packing our things and planning an evacuation, we are re-drilling holes that should have been put in correctly to start. I urge you to reconsider if you plan on using them for your windows. They don't care about the satisfaction of their customers. Hands down, excellent workmanship. We had a full siding job done in April of 2016. The salesman was incredibly helpful. It did take a while to get on the schedule, but that's to be expected with such a large job. It took approximately 2 weeks to complete with 2 guys on the job, but they were meticulous in their work. The outcome was a complete makeover and our house shines like new. Love the color and quality of the siding, and the lifetime guarantee makes me feel pretty confident. We have a deck that needs to be replaced, but we couldn't afford both big projects at the same time, so the owner said when we're ready to tear the deck down, he'll send his guys out for FREE to install the siding on the back part of the house that the deck was covering. If he sticks to his word when we're ready, that would be about the best service I've ever received. Overall, excellent experience and I would absolutely recommend them. I'll be calling for sure when we're ready to replace our windows in the future. read more

I am currently having two windows installed at my house. I ordered these windows in April 2021 after being told that they would take 16 weeks to arrive. I was told that I would be notified in August, I called Window World and was told the windows had arrived and I made an appointment for August 4 between the hours of 11 and 12. When no one showed up, I called and was told that I had an appointment for 5 August. No one told me of the change. Today, 5 August, the installer showed up an hour earlier than stated and with only one window that would fit. The other was 2 inches smaller. Some how the measurement for two exact sized windows was somehow miscommunicated with ordering. Now I am being told that it will take another two weeks or more to get the correct window and then schedule it for installation. The installation personnel did a great job. My problem was with the office personnel at Window World in Ladson South Carolina. They did not communicate well, at all! No one called back after being promised that they would. It is as though you, as a customer is being completely ignored. For that alone, I would not recommend to anyone that I know, that they use this company. When I asked for the owner, I was told that he was recovering from surgery. When I called the salesman, his message was that he was on vacation with his family and will return next week. In the absence of management, it appears that things slow down. Had I read Yelp first, I would not have used Window World in Ladson, South Carolina to install my windows. read more

Strange isn't the word! We had Window World to come out and take a look at our second story half circle window that have been coming apart and causing water to leak inside the house. The gentleman arrived on time but I was surprised he carried no ladder with him. He look at the window from the ground, and inside the house from the ground floor and took picture(s) with his smart phone. After discussing what our needs were he asked for my email address and said that he will now go back to his office to do some research on our window type and email back an estimate. It has been over two(2) weeks and not a single email nor a phone call. If Window World don't manufacture and/or install this particular style of window then at the least let the consumer(s) know. We ordered replacement windows for the marsh side of the house. The installation, once started after a couple of attempts, did go reasonably well; the windows were installed and most of the debris was removed. Within the first few months 1/2 of the replacement widows failed to support the top sash. We did reach out for support and were given a date for a window guy to swing by to take a look. The guy was a no show. We called back a few days later and were told the work had been done. Investigation after the call indicated quite conclusively that in fact no one had performed any work nor did anyone at the house admit anyone to look at the window. Well, we called back yet again and were told by the woman that answered the phone that she would take care of it. Weeks later nothing but crickets.... Window World does offer a reasonable price and if you can be flexible on the install, they can perform reasonably well. The service after the sale though is abysmal. read more

I wish I would've read the other reviews here before contracting with Window World. We contracted with them first week of June 2020 and were given a 4-6 week lead time. About 8 weeks later, they said our windows would in the following week. I called EVERY Friday (nobody ever called me) to get an update. Each time, they said they would be on the truck for the following week. They were finally installed mid-Oct 2020. They had no screens. Now, 7+ weeks later we still have no screens. They blame COVID, which I have been MORE than understanding about, but their communication is awful and their Quality Checks need to be updated so they don't install incomplete window packages. My POC says she's never seen screen backorders like they have now, so presumably they are continuing to install incomplete window packages on other customers. Our neighbors' were also installed without screens about 6 months before us (we only found this out when we were complaining about ours that they did the same thing to them). Bottom line, you get what you pay for. You may save a few bucks but you will waste months of your life waiting for delivery and your constant effort reaching out to them for updates. We paid in full after the incomplete windows were installed so now I guess we just hope the screens eventually show up. read more

The quality of the windows is fine. We have noticed a nice difference with heat/air as well as noise; however the customer service is awful. The sales person showed us several pictures with female bolts for the hurricane protection and assured us that's what would be installed-it was not. He also promised to cut the building permit fee in half as I offered to get the permit myself. That did not happen. Upon installation, the molding on a newly renovated window had been torn. When I called about my unhappiness with the job, Manda was fairly rude stating I signed a contract stating the company was not responsible for damage to old window molding. (I did sign so and my fault for not questioning more) and she never addressed the permit fee. However, our home is newly renoonvated so nothing was old in the house. She did set up an appointment for female bolts to be installed on one window. After rescheduling once, they were installed. When I got home,there was saw dust all over the front porch and now my wood is chipped around the female bolts. Highly unhappy with customer service and would not recommend using them. read more

My experience with Window World was a very disappointing one. Besides having a friendly staff, the rest of the project was a complete disaster. I had a back door replaced and the installation process started in July and in October we were still requesting Window World to come back and complete work that was never completed in the first place. They left the trim dirty and unpainted, left a gap between my floor and the new door, threw my screen in the yard when pieces were missing for install, and left stickers on the frame in places I cannot reach now that the door is fully installed. We reached out several times to have them correct the issues and received no response. The experience is very upsetting for the amount I paid and I would not recommend using Window World of the Lowcountry for any project. read more

***Advisory- worst customer service ever!!! The "lifetime warranty" as they say on all advertising- is not the case for all!!! The contract does NOT state that if you sell your property you MUST transfer your contract to the new buyer within 30 days!!! IF you do not - the new owner has no warranty or coverage at all and anything that goes wrong is full cost to them. When I questioned the owner about this and how we were supposed to know about this "30 day transfer" when it's NOT listed in the contract- his response was "where in the contract does it say there's a lifetime warranty" what does that tell you about customer service. One star is being generous. This company's customer service is the pits. They do not return phone calls when you have a problem. They play the game of ignoring you until you hopefully go away. Last summer they replaced all our windows. This summer we did some renovations and needed to match a picture window on the other side of the door. We ordered the window and arranged for installation. All of a sudden WW claimed they don't install just one window. Since when?? I had to get a contractor to install and WW won't even at least do the flashing so it matches the other window. I have been waiting months for a resolution with no return phone call. And btw, half the hurricane bolts they installed last year slide out of the brick because they missed the studs when drilling and the caulk job looks like a 5 year old was finger painting. Brad, the owner, was very apologetic about problems we had with original installation, but he's not a very effective manager because the customer service still stinks and I'm still getting 3 different answers from 3 different people. This company has the worst customer service ever. I ordered one replacement window from a sales consultant that came to my house. He seemed very nice and we talked for quite a while. He said the lead time would be 4-6 weeks which was fine, I wasn't in a hurry. About 7 weeks went by and no call or follow-up. I finally reached out to them and they said that the window was in and they would have an install coordinator call me to set up a time to install. Ok? So why didn't you call me when the window was in in the first place? I brushed it off and waited for a call. 5 days went by and no call. I finally called back and said that no one has called me so finally we came together on a time to install. Then I get a call a day later only to say that they couldn't come out to install because it was raining and the seal on the window wouldn't dry. I would not recommend Window World at all. It took several months to get the windows for installation. We have more windows and a door that needs replacing and I will be using another window company. The windows are low quality. There us glue looking substance which I was able to get off mostly. The vinyl surrounds were bent upon installation and when we asked them if they supposed to be bent, they said yes and just kept installing. The installers were very unprofessional. It was a cloudy day, the installers installed two windows, thought it might rain and left for the day. The next day they worked a long day in the cold trying to finish. Pounding on the walls with no warning. We had pictures falling off the wall. Several weeks later after we contacted them about the hurricane covers they finally sent some one over. Several more weeks later they came to install bolts for the hurricane covers which look hideous, are not straight and the hurricane covers and hardware were just left in the yard with no explanation. We did not know if the job was complete or not. Not a good experience! read more

The installation took a number of days due to the heavy rains and traffic issues and forgotten trim left a large gap around for a few days. I was unhappy with the service and said so, and the owner called me to apologize and straighten everything out. Worst company ever! Signed window contract 10 months ago and salesman said it would be 4-6 weeks to install & it would be a 1-day job. After numerous calls they finally show up 2 months later to install and didn't arrive until 11:30am (very late & didn't bother calling). Needless to say, they didn't finish the job and had to come back the next day (didn't arrive until 10:30). It was dark outside while they were trying to finish up. The next day while inspecting the windows, I found numerous problems: some windows wouldn't close completely & therefore you couldn't lock them; a nail was protruding upward from the bottom of a window frame for no reason; there were discolored imperfections between the double panes in several of the window sashes; the locking mechanism wasn't working on a window; one of the screens had holes in it & the frame was bent with the paint scraped off; several screens wouldn't stay in position when sliding window sashes; and long gaps of caulk was missing on most of the windows. Window World has returned to my house to correct the problems but there is no standardized training for the staff so every time someone different shows up, he does things differently. It is now Sep '17 and I am still waiting for the correct size screen; all of this is problems from the initial installation 8 months ago. Window World is very unprofessional and terrible customer service. I made a BIG mistake by selecting them to replace my home windows. read more

Very pleased with our replacement windows. I would highly recommend window world! 23 windows installed in one day and old windows and all debris removed and carried away. This is a family centered business with Manda helping to schedule appointments and Brad even assisting when we added wrapping garage windows. Beware all future customers of Window World of the Lowcountry. The sales rep will tell you anything you want to hear to get a signed agreement. What is written on the itemized cost estimate statement is not an actual agreement of work to be performed but is more of an agreement to pay the bottom line figure (so the owner Brad says). Because what I agreed to was 21 squares of siding to be installed and only had 17 squares installed. Noticing the 2 full boxes (2 squares per box) of siding left over I asked to have remaining 4 squares left behind but was denied and instead was left the scrape pieces of siding to throw away myself. Window World returned the 2 boxes of siding back to the supplier and kept the difference. I used a coupon I found in the value mail advertisements that entitled me to 5 free shutters that weren't installed until after I contacted the company and inquired about my missing shutters, at which point they had to order them and install 4 weeks later. A $500 dumpster fee is really a trailer and not a dumpster. The $300 permit will never be posted at the construction site. $65 dollar per window "window fascia" fee is charged to screw windows into place not to cap around windows as one would expect. This window fascia fee wasn't on the window agreement but was on the siding agreement which only proves that the charge was for capping around the windows, a product I never received. When these issues were brought to the attention of Management, I was countered with the attitude that I was trying to low ball the price after work had been completed and should have disputed them at the start. Well excuse me but if I would have known from the start that Window World wouldn't be installing 21 squares, 5 shutters, 5 window Fascia, and installing 2 windows too small for opening (which I was nice enough to let them trim out instead of replacing), starting job in 12 weeks not the 4-6 weeks promised, taking 4 weeks to complete a 1-2 week job, installing the wrong color gutter, not installing a gutter, flimflamming cost, delivering the wrong insulation backing( which I caught) I would have gone with a different company. Next time I will go with a different company. If you decide to go with Window World, do not be nice with these people because they will walk over you in a heartbeat.
