The classic place that we've been associated as a seasonal shop to pick up the calendars for they year weather for yourself or gifting it to someone which I've done as everyone needs a calendar every year and why not pick up one in a type that's just for that person weather it's a cartoon, sports or that K-pop thang it does make a great gift. It used to be majority calendars with some toys are now slightly reversed as the toy section has grown much more and besides losing a lot of major toy stores does make the inventory at this store higher in demand. The calendar section is empty as they start to bring in the new ones though the toys and novelties here are quite funny and unique that I actually found a stress squeeze thing for myself that I thought would be fun and entertaining lol!! We went there looking for a bunch of PS2 games last Saturday around lunchtime. I think we spent almost a whole hour at his tent just finding a whole bunch of games! He's kind and thorough to check to make sure the games are in good playable condition and makes sure the controllers and consoles work too! He even gets Japanese games in every now and then (he sometimes has the consoles too like the Nintendo DSi)! I found me a nice rare Japanese game that I never thought I would get here in Hawaii (since not too many people know of it)! I thought I would have to get it in Japan again. If an employee asks about getting the membership, it's an easy yes considering how much money you can save. Anyway, came here yesterday to do an exchange for an item I bought the week before. Store was kind of busy, but was greeted and helped with no issue. Even better, the employee got me a better deal on the item I was exchanging for. Left happy as usual considering the associates here are often great. Being privy to some of the corporate issues, I can tell you that these folx deal with a lot (from customers and corporate) that they have no control over, so I'll continue to give this store my business because I know they do their jobs well.

Just like their Pearlridge location, this location sells an assortment of used and maybe even some hidden new books, movies, cds, toys, etc. Some of them have very good value/cost, but just remember to always double check your prices (I once found two copies of the same dvd, one was $5 the other was $7). The service is also very good here, their employees are nice and they handle their buyback program very efficiently. Just be advised that they pretty much give pennies on the dollar, so you might not make much money here. But it's good if you just want to purge some stuff and if you're in the area.

The store was completely empty (no other customers). As I asked the workers for two Pokémon trading card sets the female store clerk immediately spoke in rude sassy tone and said she would only sell me one set and I would quote: just have to drive back to the store tomorrow if I wanted to buy a second set. I had my 2 grandsons visiting us just the day and we only wanted to buy each of them the trading card set they each wanted. Mind you each set cost $49 + and the store clerk refused to sell us the product. She had no valid or justified reason to turn away a paying customer. She is just a rude sassy prejudice person who should wake up. The store had absolutely no signs indicating limit on purchases. The store had no other customers - just us. The employee by the name of ALEXIS showed clear cocky prejudice conduct toward we paying customers. Gamestop business is in the market of retail sales and their employee acted in a manner of clear discrimination to refuse our attempt to buy products. I called 5 other Gamestop stores and all said that there is no policy to only sell one item and we as a customer would be expected to have to drive back the next day if we wanted a second item. The employee was a nasty example of low life to turn away my two grandsons age 10 & 6 and allow them to experience being treated like crap. The employee should be fired and I will proceed to assure that such behavior and treatment is never to continue to other innocent kids and grandparent customers. Poor attitude employee who speaks very cocky to innocent shoppers, display of rudeness in front of children, this ALEXIS clearly practices prejudice behavior. We went to another store upon leaving that miserable store. My two grandsons were sold what they wanted that day, and we were treated with nice respectful customer service from a store (off post) in a local shopping mall. I hope the district manager, corporate management and military command see this review and handle the employee misconduct correctly. This store has absolutely everything from comic books, collectibles, MTG/TCG, D&D items and books, Warhammer, and also board games. Honestly if you are into any of those then this place is the place to come to. The absolute widespread level of inventory is only matched by how friendly the staff is and how comfortable of an environment they've created to spend your time there. They even put on events on nearly a daily basis depending what you're into. Pricing is very reasonable and I do majority of my shopping here as it is extremely competitive with online pricing. Not to mention being able to find the product that you're looking for locally is hard to find for most shops. The gameplay areas of the store are clean, tidy, and do not smell (yes... we know the stereotype of hobby shops). Plus they're always willing to spend the time to explain and help you get into any of the games they sell. I haven't played MTG for decades since I was a child and they were so kind to take me thru the differences from what I knew then to the large and vast game that it has become. They also make it simple to sign up on their website for Prerelease events and specialty game nights. Sadly we don't have many bookstores on the island, there is of course Barnes and Noble, Bookoff, bookends, and few other stores. After Borders closed, we don't have many places to go to buy brand new books except for Walmart or Target. However, there are many good finds here and a chance to give some used books/media/toys a new home. The staff here are very nice, though of course they don't have a system catalog here. But that's part of the fun, the treasure hunting fun. You never know what you may find. Bookoff also has a buyback counter, where you can sell your used movies, books, etc. but just be aware they are like the old saying where they only offer pennies on the dollar. So you won't make a lot of money selling here. But if you just want to get rid of stuff and make some money, this may be a good option for you.

The owner greeted me right away with that warm, aloha spirit energy. No attitude, no long drawn-out process. She got straight to scanning my old dusty books while I waited, and when she was done, she texted me -- yes, texted me -- to let me know. Walked up, got my receipt, got my quote. Super professional, super smooth. Here's the best part: while I was waiting, I browsed around and found three gifts for my grandchildren that I knew they'd love. So in one trip I freed up a ton of space at home from books that had been taking up way too much room and knocked out some gift shopping. Win-win-win! The whole setup is easy too -- rolled the carts right from my car into the store, no stress. My friend was chillin' in the massage chair outside the whole time, so nobody's time was wasted. I was originally just gonna dump everything at Goodwill. So glad I didn't. I'm already planning to come back with my old DVDs and CDs just sitting my shed in the backyard.
