A beautiful campus because they have this banana festival today on Sunday, September 21, 2025. They had honey samples and cake, samples and banana samples, of course, and they also sold banana dumps for $40. Grow your own banana she outside. They were selling local farmers market produce, and had a nice way of anything banana related. They also had banana growers provide education on everything. You know about banana growing. The campus is beautiful. With beautiful trees, and the lawns are perfectly nice. And it's right next to the courthouse. There are feral chickens on the property. Walking around everywhere. This casual campus is a great resource for the community! Yes, it's smaller than the University of Hawaii at Manoa - that only means that class size is limited and students get more attention! I've been on this campus for the Ho'olaulea (like a Block Party with Food Booths, vendors, live music, etc.), union meetings, a play, and a few craft fairs. This is a great venue with free parking and beautiful scenery! Recently, I've found the café - The Hub - at the back of the library! My next goal is to attend a show at the Imaginarium. It seems like it's a planetarium with a domed theater. There are different types of movies, so I'll probably return more than a couple of times! read more

Hands down the best library for studying that I've ever been to!! It is nice and clean! There is so much natural light (when it's not raining on the Windward side of course). They have update computers. The desk space is great and all of them have outlets. The very bottom floor has booths (like restaurants booths) and chairs and tables. The middle floor has the computers and the study hub (for students that need help on Eng, Math, etc.) and the top floor is the quiet floor! It has many desks, mini couches (for one and a half person). All the workers are very nice, if you have any questions. The middle floor is connected to a little cafe where students can get coffee and smoothies I believe. There are also clean bathrooms! This is a review for their outreach programs that they have at Windward Community College. I saw an ad for cooking classes that they have at Windward Community College and I decided to sign up. I really like taking cooking classes and did it when my husband and I were dating. We took classes at Kaimuki High School Continuing Education and at Kapiolani Community College. It's a great experience and you learn so many things to make. At this Windward Community College cooking class we were learning how to make chicken karaage and other small dishes. The class was located behind their kitchen in a small classroom. We all sat around four round tables as we listened to the instructor. The instructor stood in the front doing the demonstration. At first I was thinking we're gonna watch this demonstration and then after we're going to go to our stations and make it. But that never happened. They showed us how to make all the dishes and we didn't make anything in the kitchen. The only thing that they had us do was powder the chicken for frying. They cooked up and gave us food for all the dishes they created but I really would have liked to have cooked. We could have been going through the recipe with the instructor up front. The instructor was great and the food was good so I give four stars for that. And I really hope that someday they'll let the public start cooking as well. read more

A counselors job is to fill seats in a class and some counselors are better than others when it comes to actually placing students in class that best suit the students. So do your research. 2. Sign up for TRiO. Even if you no think you qualify sign up anyway. If you qualify there are a lot of great services. 3. There is a SPEECH LAB and MATH LAB, I know that the people there are really helpful if you need help they can provide you with great resources. There is also a WRITING CENTER if you need help writing papers for class. [TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS] + Audrey Badua for Speech: As long as you GO CLASS, PAY ATTENTION, DO YOUR WORK, and actually MEET WITH HER it's all good. You will actually learn things in this class that you can apply to other classes not just when it comes to having to give a speech. + Peter Moore for Hawaiian Studies: Again as long as you go class, pay attention, do your work, and actually meet with him it's all good. He is very knowledgeable about the subjects that he teaches especially when it comes to hale building!! read more

I attended the AARP preview of the newly updated Imaginarium show Stars of the Pharohs. It was enjoyable, appealing and informative. Dr. Malley's enthusiasm for the subject was an added bonus. The planetarium was full to capacity. AARP's volunteers set us up for a well organized and pleasant experience. There was an icebreaker ( with brownies and fruit), a challenge and exploration of the aeronotics display. There were Star Wars , meteorites and plenty of models. A wonderful experience. My only suggestion to the college is that the Handicapped Parking should be closer to the entrance of the parking lot instead of so far up the hill. read more

Seriously, one of the nicest libraries of all UH community college campuses.... that I've ever visited! It is so unassuming considering how the other buildings look from the exterior. Granted the buildings are older looking, the campus doesn't look as lively with students and faculty bursting everywhere, but in the middle of it all is this great looking building. To be honest, if my professor, didn't tell me that the TI-83 calculators were available to rent out at the library, I wouldn't have gone in. When I first walked in through the sliding doors, I was floored! Am I in the right campus? It's so clean, bright lighting, colors of gray and green catch your eyes, available computers, and there's a lot seating available. Yay! There's also the scent of a nearby cafe... oh, look at that, there is - The Hub! Lots of good drinks to choose from and food. Enjoy it, but keep the food out of the library section. Stay within the cafe area. We don't want roaches roaming around there. Although food isn't allowed in the computer/ library area, covered drinks are okay. The staff at the desk are so helpful and happy to be there. There's a math lab with available tutors, which is AWESOME! I've already used it! They have a schedule with tutor's "In" time with their math specialty. There's also a speech lab and a couple of other offices in there that I see students frequently visit. Great place to have a study session. I personally like to take a seat after class to crack down my reading and homework. They also have free wi-fi that runs fast! Yay! read more

Talk about a great place to study! The WCC library has gorgeous views, ample seating with ambient light, and lots of power outlets. There are 3 floors with varying noise levels. So when it's time to cram for an exam I hit the 3rd floor. On a more chill day I will head downstairs where talking is welcome. I appreciate that you are allowed to bring in drinks as long as they have a cover. The Hub is a coffee shop located in the building which adds convenience. read more

Probably the best library on the island. The place is absolutely beautiful and there's so much seating and computers available. The style is very hip/trendy and modern. This library is new. There are I believe like three stories. There's sunlight so that's nice to have. Shelves and shelves of books but might not beat sinclair or hamilton on that. The customer service is EXCELLENT and i mean EXCELLENT. The lady asked me what I was looking for and actually WALKED me to go and find it. When it came to check out, it literally took like maybe half a minute? And that's not even exaggerating. read more

I have taken numerous classes here, but never any classes in real life. They have all been online classes. This is really convenient because it's one heck of a drive from where I live sometimes. I would hate to do it multiple times a week. Unless of course it was for a woman. Then I might do it everyday! I come here sometimes to buy school books for the semester. The Windward Community campus is beautiful and a good size. Going from class to class looks like it would be good exercise as there are numerous buildings, and they all don't look that big. The campus is a bit hilly too. Parking has been a cinch with numerous stalls strategically placed throughout the campus. So far, every faculty member that I have worked with has been excellent. I do use websites though to figure out which professors are good. There are a few decent websites similar to Yelp, but used instead to review professors rather than businesses. read more

I recently visited Windward Community College to represent my place of employment at a service fair, and I was impressed with their staff and facilities. Firstly, even though it was lunchtime on a Tuesday during the school year, I didn't have a problem finding parking. Second, parking was free. Third, their staff actually answer their phones, are responsive, and work hard. I kinda wish I went to school here! 164/365 I was always curious to check this campus out and I finally got to take a personal "tour" of the place by my bf, at the time. The campus is nice and since it is by the mountain, it seems like a very peaceful and comfortable place to study. Granted that we went during winter break so it wasnt crowded, but there is a lot of land and grassy area so it would be nice to just pull up a mat or just sit on the grass and study. I also got to see the outside of their soon to be new library where and heard that there would be a deli and coffee shop for the students who have later classes. Overall, a nice campus that definitely portrays the beauty of Hawaii. read more

I've taken courses at Honolulu Community College and UH Manoa, and this is probably one of the best campuses I've been to. The buildings are always clean (especially the bathrooms which is important to me when I have to stay at school for a while). The faculty are very nice, many (especially in the science department) are well respected in their field. The campus itself is very beautiful being next to the Koolau mountains. The parking is also FREE. Yup, I said it. FREE. The other campuses I've been to I needed to pay to park on campus. Unfortunately I cafeteria isn't too great. There are vending machines, and the mall is pretty much down the road. I wouldn't recommend eating at school. read more

Moving to Hawai'i I wanted a fresh start. I looked at a few different school in the island and coming to this campus for the first time. I felt in love with the view and the campus it self. I attended WCC in the 1980s after graduating from Castle High school. Professors were caring and helpful and really prepared me when I transferred to UH Mānoa. In fact, I would say that Manoa was easier than WCC because know one knew who you were. At WCC if I missed a class, the professor would call me by name and ask me why I missed class! I owe much of my success to that most beautiful campus on the hill. By the way, the campus is expansive, green, lush, peaceful, and the best memories were study in the classroom (before they air cond everything) and hearing the rain outside. Great memories. FRee Parking. They have a great New Library. The Planetarium is GREAT and has great shows for the family and educational. The performing arts Theatre is great as well. Hustled close to the mountain range it is serene and beautiful. read more

I'm not a student here, but as a visitor I am impressed with he campus. I recently came by here for a conference. The campus is beautiful and the view of the mountains is amazing. They also have a place called Imaginarium which is like the dome building bishop museum uses for shows. it's kind of like a virtual planetarium in a way. I don't know how this place is as a school, but as a visitor the place is very nice. read more

As has been mentioned in other reviews, the campus at Windward Community College is probably the most beautiful in the entire state. Lush and green and tucked into the Koolau mountains...you can't help but take photos of building and students. Great faculty too! I'm a fan of community colleges because the emphasis is on teaching. The faculty I know and have worked with are truly dedicated to their students and the subjects that they teach. I'm friends with several science faculty and I know they create amazing learning opportunities for students both in and out of the classroom. I've enjoyed working with them and am in awe of their dedication to their craft. The biggest complaint I've heard is that parking is very limited, which is true. Parking is free and with 4-year colleges becoming more expensive, a lot of students are looking at WCC and the other cc's as financially friendly alternative. The more students...the more competition for parking. read more

I thought it was semi-romantic until my boyfriend told me about the crazy hospital on the same property called Red Roof, it was then that I wanted to leave before it got dark. I don't personally go to Windward but I take my out of state exams at the testing center on campus. I think it's a great community college. I called several places to see if I could set up tests with them and all of them were either unhelpful or confused. I had one lady actually say "sorry i'm resigning so I can't proctor your tests for you" rather than handing me over to someone else or referring me to somewhere else. Surely she would have been replaced by a new proctor considering it was an active college...? Anyway finally I was referred to the testing center here and it's been so easy. The proctor is great and its been incredibly convenient. read more

The campus is probably most beautiful college campus i have ever been on. The teachers seem genuine in that fact that they want you to succeed. i especially like the fact also that most teachers will offer an incentive for filling our their ecafe with some extra credit points, which is always welcomed in my book for last minute points added to your grade hopefully to boost whatever borderline grade you might already have. The library is brand new,and i love the fact there is three floors, the first one was you walk into being the middle floor filled with computers & lots of other things, the bottom floor being more classes i assume, and sitting areas, and the third floor being the quiet area. Which i love going up to sometimes because you will find yourself sitting next to some loud as person who cant hear them talking over their earphones on the main floor. :P the drawbacks would be the parking as i assume everyone would agree. Unless you take a later afternoon, or early ,morning class usually the 8am you will be finding yourself already in a bad mood walking to class because you spent at least 30 mins + fighting/finding a parking spot. THANKFULLY they do tend to open up the back grass area for parking but even so.. being Hawaii humid as it is at times, if you had to park there && you have a class way past the library you defiantly will be arriving to class trench in sweat, and out of breath.
