Anne's work is beautiful with a variety of pieces from small to large, but she also carries the work of many local potters. There is a wide variety of styles and a nice price range. She also carries glass work and items made from woven pine needle. It is a nice-sized store with a great selection and many different styles for lots of tastes.

We arrived for a long-term stay and our site hadn't even been cleaned -- trash around the fire pit, broken glass near the picnic table, debris everywhere. It set the tone for everything that followed. The property is dark and poorly lit at night, and complaints to management went nowhere. Safety was a constant concern. Campsites are uneven and poorly maintained, dead trees and hanging limbs are scattered throughout, and falling branches actually damaged trucks and campers during our stay. An open trench dug behind our camper sat unfinished, unfenced, and unmarked for over two months -- a serious hazard for kids, pets, or anyone walking by at night. The advertised "swim hole" turns out to be off-limits to swimmers, which sums up the gap between the marketing photos and reality. The inn, gazebo, restaurant, and bathhouse are all visibly deteriorating, and the rules seem to be made up and enforced inconsistently depending on who you are. The long-term camper community felt cliquish rather than welcoming, though a few people -- including the previous owner -- were genuinely kind. It's clear from older reviews that this was once a magical, beloved place. That's not what it is anymore. There are better, more well-maintained options in the area. Save your truck, your camper, and your peace of mind. Book somewhere else.

One dude in a private group I was in straight up did his own thing, and painted a jazz musician instead of an owl. If you are trying to sit in a group, try to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Don a provided apron, start drinking, check out the other art on the walls, and sit tight. The paint process is tediously slow and most people's paintings end up looking rather different even though we were painting the same thing, in the same order, using the same color acrylics, drawing the same shapes. I'm sad that the wine shop next to Wine, Paint and Create closed because I was totally going to get alcohol there while we painted. For the price I was expecting to paint more technical pieces but if you want to hang out with your less artsy friends majority rules. Check out their website for different classes/paintings on different dates; if you're crafty you can even have your own paint parties using their finished painting as your template. Parking is plentiful and free. Not recommended for those who paint regularly; Highly recommended for those who say that they can't draw.

I also noticed that a few customers brought light snacks such as cheese and crackers. There happens to be a wine shop right next door if you would like to make a purchase before the class. In my experience the instructor did move a little fast paced as there is a lot to get done during the time frame, but everyone in the class was able to keep up and everyone ended up with lovely pieces of art to take home. There are bathrooms on the first floor and several doors leading into the auditorium past there. Our seats were on the balcony level, so we headed up the stairs. I am not sure if there is an elevator. The balcony is a large area, but the seats are somewhat cramped in. I had to sit to the side in my seat, as my legs were too long. I don't know if that was every area in the whole auditorium, but it's kind of off putting. Overall it was an enjoyable night, more so because of the event, and not the venue that housed it, but it was a clean and safe atmosphere.
