Wing Cheong is an Asian grocery store. I find their prices reasonable when compared to others.
I have been to a few other Asian grocery stores in Glen Waverly/Clayton and I would rather drive all the way back into the city just to shop at Wing Cheong.
The staff at Wing Cheong knows how to treat customers well and be polite. In other words, they know how to run a business and run it well.
Plus, the prices are reasonable. I have successfully converted a few colleagues and friends into shopping there. We either shop there after work (yes, they open till late) before we hop onto the train home or I drive into the city just to shop there on the weekends if I was too busy to shop during the week.
I usually get my fix of Asian snacks and manufactured food there (fish balls, frozen glutinous rice balls, frozen dumplings etc) on a weekly basis. They offer a wide variety of food from all over Asia so you are bound to find something you are looking for in there.
This is a hidden gem, hidden away in a small lane right in the heart of Melbourne's CBD/Chinatown.
You won't miss it, because there are plenty of people walking in and out of the store all the time. It is a secret the CBD residents don't want you to know. Haha!
