Traveling to Canada for our honeymoon was a last minute decision and one we won't ever forget. Originally, we planned to stay at a place nearby Wing Creek, but decided against it after reading reviews. We booked Wing Creek on a whim and could not have predicted the beauty and tranquility in store.
The beautifully built one-bedroom cottage is just the right kind of cozy. There is plenty of elbow room without being excessively spacious, and it has the perfect amount of privacy in and outside of the unit. There are two windows in the bedroom and I believe 6 large windows in the front room along with a window on the door, all of which have curtains and/or blinds. The front porch, complete with rattan chairs and bench, is covered with grapevines and other greenery and surrounded by the most naturally landscaped grass and shrubbery. The front door and front windows face the lake, mountains, and sunrise. Smaller trees and flowers surround the little wooden cottage, and the trail leading down to the water is 20 feet from the front door, making this the most comfortable, safe, and picturesque viewpoint of any resort we've ever stayed at. The front room is simple, yet functional and comfortable with a couch, a rocking chair, a nice little kitchenette (furnished with all the dishes you need for a couple of people for a few days) and dining table, and best of all, a beautiful little fireplace. The bathroom was small, but not lacking in comfort. The sink was beautiful and modern and the shower has a nice shower head with good water pressure and clean tile. Overall, the unit is very comfortable.
We traveled to Canada looking for peace, privacy, beauty, and rest. What we found was that and so much more.
There was plenty for us to do between hiking, zip-lining, kayaking, etc.. And we did engage in some activity as the hosts were more than knowledgeable about the available activities and sights. But the highlight of our trip really, was the beauty, tranquility, and comfort of the atmosphere. I know this is all possible because of what the owners have cultivated and grown over the years with their passion for people, nature, and beauty.
Kevin and Deb greeted us with genuine excitement and kindness the moment we arrived, and they shared with us the history of the property and the town and a few of the lovely things surrounding. When we mentioned we were newlyweds, they gave us hugs and champagne and the most genuine congratulations we've received from complete strangers. But, that is the best part about the resort. As soon as we arrived on the property, it felt like we were home, and Kevin and Deb just continued that feeling throughout the trip. They were invisible when we didn't need them and as soon as we needed something, they were right there. They designed the cottages so that even if people are staying in each one, you rarely run into anyone. The entire time we stayed, we only saw one couple walking down the trail once; not even close enough to have conversation.
This truly was the perfect honeymoon. Peaceful, private, beautiful, restful, and so much more. Thank you, Deb and Kevin for helping to make our first week as husband and wife so memorable. We WILL be back. read more
