I bought some pork jerky and hawthorn flakes for snack. They are not very good but that is not what I want to write about. The way they sell borderlines cheating.
On the hawthorn flakes container, the label shows $3.75 a quarter pound and the pork jerky containers shows $4.4 a quarter pound. I asked for a quarter pound of each. The sales lady said that if I buy a pound of the hawthorn, it would be 50% off. I said I couldn't eat that much, I only wanted a quarter pound. So she put a bunch in a plastic bag. Then I wanted a quarter pound of port jerky, and she put a bunch in a plastic bag. She put the pork jerky on the scale, it came out to be more than a third of a pound. She said that it was a little over, but before I could say a word, she used the machine and sealed the plastic bag. I thought fine, I didn't to make a fuss. Then she weight the hawthorn. Punched in the cash register and told me it would be $15 something. I asked her how she got that, she said not to worry, that she would give me the receipt. I said I wanted to know how she got that before I pay. She said that she told me if I got a pound of the hawthorn, it would be half price but I didn't get a pound. I told her fine, forget the hawthorn. Hawthorn flake is very inexpensive stuff, I wasn't going to pay $8-9 for 6 packets. She said, ok ok, she would give me 50% off, mumbling and punching the cash register, the total came out to be a little over $10 which I paid. I really should have walked away, I paid way too much for these snacks.
So watch out for their tactics. read more
