Wingate sprayed without my permission. I had arranged to talk with someone about spraying. Instead I saw someone on my deck spraying. When I told him he scared me. he lied and said he rang my doorbell; my ring confirms there was no one who rang my bell. He also said you have a program. I do not. They get paid for something that was never agreed to. My pets were also exposed to their chemical. read more

We've been a Wingate customer for 10 years and have always had wasp issues. My kids and I were attacked by wasps just outside my back door this weekend. It was a full-on situation. Wasps swarming around. I called Wingate to see if we could get someone out as this was a bit of an emergency. I was told they couldn't get to me for 2 weeks. I called Steve's pest control and they were out the same day. We walked around the house and must have spotted 15 mature wasp and hornet nests on and around my home in 10 minutes. Wingate has been servicing my house for years and simply didn't see them or let those slide. Steve's is scheduled to come out tomorrow to take care of the problem Wingate should have owned. They had been 'annual' inspecting the property yearly. I believe it was last year I mentioned some possible terminates in a fence. No treatment done far as I know. Wingate did our termite inspection on our new home in Columbia. The inspector did great with explaining his concerns and appropriate treatment plan. The office staff was super friendly and helped a lot. After we moved in, we asked for program quotes and signed up on a program and have been very satisfied thus far. Used for home purchase pest inspection. "Todd" was the inspector. Was at the house a total of approx. 20 min. Verbally stated while he was at the house that he recommended a preventative treatment and that there were indications that the home had been treated approx. 10 years ago. Recommendation was based on inability to access many areas of home and previous treatment. Also stated that this would be previous owner's/seller's responsibility. When written report was issued, stated "no treatment". Called to asked him about it, left message. No return call in 24 hours. Called again, left message. He left message while I was at work, stating that he could likely not speak as he was working in a very noisy environment that day. I called him back later that day, left a message. I received no call back. I called again the next day, he told me he had "forgotten" to call me back the first day I called. When I asked him about what he said verbally vs his written report, he said that he had said nothing of the kind and never indicated anything like that. The office staff had difficulty processing my payment. I called the day of the inspection (Todd had no means for taking a credit card payment). I told the office female my credit card info and had her read it back to me. A week later, I received a message stating that they couldn't process the payment. I called and they had the incorrect credit card number. I had also had a couple of email exchanges with the office staff. The responses told me that 1) they didn't read my email or 2) they had some difficulty with comprehension. I found this business to be unprofessional and would not recommend. I've had 3 other experiences with 3 different companies when buying other homes and never had these kinds of convolutions. read more

I bought my first house about a year ago and signed up for wingates perimeter plus program when I bought it and I love it. Before I moved everything in they came and treated the inside of the house with their general pest product, and I haven't seen a bug since. They also placed rodent stations inside and outside. They automatically treat the outside 3 times a year, so I dont have to worry about it and any other issues I've had inside they come and dont charge anything extra! read more

Request that your realtor does NOT use Wingate at all for any kind of inspection. They erroneously marked that I had termites because I had mulch around my bushes- on a slab house. I had an honest/reputible company come out & inspect the property & verified NO TERMITES were anywhere on my property. Because Wingate completed a form on it - my property was flagged for termites even though it was their obvious error. This is a known issue within Columbia Realtors (so I was told) that this racket is used to try to get sellers to have to pay for a $650 termite treatment. Do your research before you use this company. I will be reporting this activity to BBB but I fully expect this is a known issue & it continues. read more
