Becky was so incredibly rude at checkout to me and refused my sale. Sam graciously helped me at self checkout with my purchase because Becky refused to help us for no reason at all. We took our problem to Jessica the manager who helped us with the matter after checkout. I really hope Becky is fired because she is not a person who should be working in customer service. I get great savings at Winn-Dixie, my store at the Rainbow Springs Fl. Prices are cheaper and the coupons and cash back really helps. People are very nice and helpful. But they are short staffed sometimes and the workers are doing double work. And I appreciate that. read more

I only gave this store 1 star. This store is just like Stop and Shop in Massachusetts. Everything about this store is exactly the same. I tried AGAIN to buy fruit at this store. Raspberries... bought them yesterday and they were moldy on the bottom. Never again. Prices are as much as Publix... but Publix is way better. I'll go there and pay as much as this store and get much better quality. read more

I visited this store on Saturday, 10/17/2020. Though I checked online and it said face masks were required, when I arrived nearly half the patrons were not wearing masks inside the main store. Even a Pepsi employee was stocking sodas with no mask. Upon leaving the main store I entered the connected liquor store, where a couple of patrons were without masks. The two employees behind the checkout counter were wearing masks, but they were hanging down fully exposing their noses. Parts of their mouths were exposed each time they spoke. When I went to check out I was told I had to remove my mask inside. I told the employee this made me uncomfortable, but I was not allowed any alternative, such as stepping outside to remove my mask. I tried to explain that I had just spent weeks quarantining so that I could safely visit my high risk father, I was told "well how would we know that," as though I have to justify my right to my own safety and keep my mask on inside a store not enforcing any restrictions. FYI, I am 42 and there is no way I appear to be of questionably close to under age. My ID photo is fairly recent so it looks like me even with a mask. Strangely the one man who happened to be wearing a mask next to me at checkout was not asked to remove his mask, though I was told it was store policy. Needless to say I will not be shopping at this store again while this pandemic continues and I cannot in good conscience allow either of my parents to return to this store to shop because the risk is too great. Hopefully the Publix further in town will provide better safety for them, otherwise I will drive groceries 2 hours from Tampa every weekend if I must. If you or someone you love is at risk should they contract Coronavirus, I would avoid this store. read more

I cannot even tell you how many times I have been to Dunnellon and never set foot in this Winn Dixie. Based on past experience, I have a certain image of Winn Dixie, and I just knew that was not a store I would enjoy, nor find anything I want. Boy, was I wrong. This is not your typical Winn Dixie. Granted, it's no Publix, but it's much, much better than I imagined. It is much better than the Sweetbay up the road. It's large. It's clean. It's well-lit. There are "wood" floors in the produce and floral section. It does not seem old, or dingy, or anything like what I remembered from past Winn Dixies. They have a HUGE produce section with some great looking produce. Although if you are in this area, I would highly recommend a local produce stand over supermarket produce, trust me, local tastes 1000x better- but if you must get supermarket produce, this is not bad! They even had a small organic section (with 10lb bags of carrots for juicing, so that's saying something), and a large section of fruit and veggie juices (Naked brand, Odwalla, Sambazon, Bolthouse Farms, etc). They do not have Boars Head at the deli, but we tried the brand they had, and it was good. They have a large section of organic fruit juices on the shelf. They had small sections of health foods in each aisle (drinks, snacks, cereals, etc) and I found several gluten-free items. They have a pretty decent selection of Amy's frozen foods, and they even had some frozen Glutino and Kinnickkinnick items (including donuts). In the cleaning section, I found Seventh Generation Free & Clear dish soap and laundry detergent (that particular one is hard to find even at Whole Foods), and several other eco-friendly or scent-free cleaning products. Need to change out your fruit and veggies. Husband does the shopping for me and the strawberries and mushrooms he bought this week... well I had to throw out half the berries and the mushroom caps were slimy green on the inside. Really. Clean your stuff out, pull it from your shelves. Really disappointed. I'll have to start shopping at the new Aldi's in town and get a better selection. read more

This store is always clean. Most helpful employees, always. Pleasant , always too! The store renovation was timely, and well done, obviously thoughtfully. Enjoy seeing familiar employee faces each time visit the store, in all departments. Super helpful Pharmacy Dept: a large anchor dept of this store. I think their dollar aisle has a well-earned place in this store, and I'd challenge anyone to stroll down that aisle without adding a minimum of 1 (one) item to their cart!! This store has just about anyting you would want. Friendly courteous employees and a great Pharmacy. I love shopping here. It is clean and well taken care of. Immense parking lot. I have been shopping here for 15 years and it saves me from going to downtown Dunnellon with the crowded parking lots. read more
