Customer service leaves a lot to be desired especially in deli department, six people working behind the counter, I'm waiting to get waited on, couple of them look up see me but keep on working! Seriously there's no hello how you doing will be right with you, finally one woman says somebody will be right with me, she has a girl that's packing cookies does she want to wait on me or does she want her to wait on me, it's like I'm a big inconvenience. Excuse me what happened to customer service first? If not for us you wouldn't have a job? The staff is horrible. The manager Anthony was brought chicken tenders from the deli by a customer that had green stuff in it he told her it would be fine you will not get sick . They allowed a murderer Travis Roe to hang out at the service desk . Which is to have no contact direct, indirect, or third party with me and my family which my wife and daughter work there. Amber told my daughter not to worry about it that he can be there if he wants to get over it. Then proceeded to cut my daughters hours because she feels uncomfortable with him being there to watch his wife work. read more

I've been living in south Florida for 20 yrs. for the past 3 years I've owned a home in Melrose Fl. Until the last three years I have never had dealings with Harvey's supermarket. From what I have seen, especially during this crisis, Harvey's is one of the best supermarkets I have ever dealt with in my life. They keep everything stocked, and the employees work extremely hard and are extremely helpful to all of the customers. The reason I gave The store five stars is because I couldn't give six. I think Harvey's has the best meat in this area. It is a little higher that Wall Mart but they have a great meat area and they will cut things up for you. You can't get that at Wall Mart. read more

I used to live in this area and work in this store. I was hired shortly after the Food Lion sign came down and was a cashier when the door re-oppened under the brand new Harvey's Supermarket sign. I loved this store. It represented everything a southern supermarket should be. It was a clean, organized store where you found all sorts of folks and your neighbors both shopping and working. I recently came back to town on vacation and was appalled and disgusted by the way I was treated by a particular member of the afternoon deli staff. She epitimized the phrase "southern trash" in both her appearance and choice of speech, not to mention her volume. She was openly rude, obviously bothered at my request. I wanted the remainders of potatoe wedges that were in a hot metal bin in the middle of the steam table. She began grabbing them with a metal tong so hard they were breaking and crumbling. I asked that she just dump them, explaining again, that I wanted them all. She popped off that "it's hot" and from there proceeded to huff and puff give dirty looks and go as far as to discuss the difficulty and ridiculousness of task being asked of her with the young man who she ended up handing the task off to, as she was incapable. When she cried that the pan was hot I'd had enough and straightforward asked her, " Could you show ANYmore attitude." She continued bitching after I walked away and I KNOW this because I could hear her as I walked the entire length of the dairy aisle and in bathroom area. I heard her still complaining as I walked up and down aisles in front of the deli. As I approached the checkout, I guess she'd tired herself out as she was walking out the front door. The cashier was great, other employees stocking/fronting were very very polite and approachable. I don't think the young lady in the deli was having a rough day, I think she's got one hell of an attitude and needs to figure out her attitude is not going to pay her bills WHEN it gets her fired from somewhere. I hope Mr. Jimmy Purvis can help this young lady better understand the importance of customer service. Not kissing butt, but rather how a GOOD attitude can stick out as much as a bad one. read more

I really try to like this store.I used to shop on Wednesdays but the shelves were bare so I decided to go on Thursdays. Still the shelves were bare. Obviously the ordering isn't done too well or the people who stock the shelves are very slow moving. I also have an issue with the meat dept. I don't want to buy so called value packs. First of all, they aren't a good price so whats the point? Every time I go in, I leave feeling like I need to go to another store. read more
