Totally overrated and poor service!.I had a plant and HUGE planter delivered which they LEFT AT my front door. They said they rang the bell (I was home) They sent me a text later saying the plant was outside -so I don't understand why they didn't just call me when when no one came to the door. I had them come back and bring the plant inside, it took them 45 min because of rush hour. I had reached out to the driver first but he had to check his schedule to see when he could get back to me I then called the 800 number and got a person who didn't seem very interested in my situation but asked if she should get them to come back! I had paid $125 for delivery and $2000 for the plant and planter so for her to ask if I needed them back was a bit rich in my opinion. - poor service all the way around. read more

I selected Winston Flower because I am never disappointed. I pay top dollar but the flowers or plants are always top-notch. I stopped by and selected a center piece to be delivered for Thanksgiving. As usual, the arrangement had an assortment of unusual flowers. They use different flowers then the one's you would find at a normal florist. I came to Winston's after another local florist, recommended to me by a cemetery, was rude and insensitive, and I am so glad to have found them. Their zen storefront immediately made me feel comfortable. I came in, and was greeted by Elise (I hope that's correct). I explained to her that I was looking for a flower arrangement for a funeral that was being held in four days. Immediately she expressed that she was sorry for my loss, and directed me to a booklet that had their "sympathy for the service" collection. None of them particularly stood out to me as the right fit, so I asked if we could change an arrangement from the booklet for the vase to be shorter, and to add more greenery. She showed me some examples of what it could look like and it was perfect. I gave her the time and date of the service and they told me they would take care of getting it there by 10 (service was at 11:00). She took my information in case something went wrong, and again expressed how sorry she was for my loss. I showed up to the service at 10:00, and the flowers were there and absolutely perfect. Not only did Winston's make me feel comfortable knowing that everything would be taken care of, but the arrangement was absolutely beautiful. Cape Cod Florists weren't taking any more orders, but they were able to squeeze me into a delivery they had going to the Cape the next day! Exceptional service!!! eh....make it 2 and 1/2 stars, okay? I wanted a simple and relatively inexpensive flower bouquet. The adorable, clever pre-made arrangements felt too expensive and just not worth the $. Instead, I decided I'd get just 3-4 free standing stems from the a la carte arrangements off to the side. No vase or container needed. How expensive could that be? NEARLY TWICE AS EXPENSIVE as the arrangements I had passed on for being too expensive. Is it just me, or is $20 for ONE hydrangea STEM way out of line with what the floral market will bare? Come on, $5 for some weedy looking "greens" ??(Star Market flower dept up the street is not as fresh, but same exact stems were only $7 each (same color) there). Ooo I can feel the Winston sales people shuddering all the way from here. Winston's has wonderful stuff, and I'm always happy to be the recipient when someone else is paying for it. Their prices are just to excessive and I for one, won't stop again to smell the roses there unless I have to (or unless you send me some). read more

I ordered a bouquet for my wife for Mother's Day through Winston flowers and they did an incredible job fulfilling my order. When I picked up the bouquet, it was packaged wonderfully and looked beautiful. I was very excited to bring it home to my wife. When we got home and my wife opened the box it came in, I immediately noticed that some of the leaves on the arrangement were ripped and some filler stems were wilted. I was immediately disappointed. After spending a significant amount for a floral arrangement I expected absolute perfection and excellence. I reached out to Winston Farms on Instagram, sent them pictures of the bouquet that we received and almost immediately a representative reached back out. They respond to me on a Sunday evening, on Mother's Day. The next morning, Michael a manager from the local shop gave me a call, apologized and assured that we would get a replacement bouquet the same day. My wife received a new bouquet in a couple hours after the conversation. The new arrangement was absolutely perfect. The incredible level of customer service at Winston Flowers is unmatched. Yes, arrangements are more expensive than most places, but you don't just pay for flowers you pay for the experience and the customer service of the company you are working with. No question about it, this outpost of Winston Flowers is by far my favorite. Not only is it the closest to our apartment, but it has an ethereal feel about it. I walk in and instantly feel calm. The floral designs are out of this world. The two designers that they have right now are both young, and they are infusing a worldly design view on what has been a traditional art form. I think every time I visit Winstons I see an arrangement and slap my forehead and say "Why didn't I think of that!" The choices of flowers and plants are varied, each that is offered for sale is perfect. Whether you own a vase or buy one of the colorful and interesting holders, what you bring in your door will change your home for the better. Recommended: get one of the Winston Preferred Customer Program Cards. I believe that every 4th or 5th time you present it when you make a purchase, you will get a free bouquet. Not too shabby! This store always produces amazing flower arangements. they use very high quality flowers and they seem to last a very long time. I took a beatiful arrangement over to my inlaws home for a holiday and my mother in law loved it. I still get comments from her about how beautiful the arrangement was. Winston Florist is perhaps the most prestigious flower shop in the Boston area. They have a unique style of compact floral arrangements in glass/ceramic containers. People in the Boston area who know about these things recognize Winston Florists arrangements on sight, similar to the little boxes from Shreve, Crump and Low. The prices and quality are high (although prices are somewhat lower in the store than on the website for loose arrangments). I also recommend Winston Florists for houseplants and containers, I have always had success with their orchids. read more

I used to have winstons in my go to category for flowers. Its very pricey, but the quality WAS worth it. The last few times I spent $100 worth of arrangements on a special occasion delivered poor results. One time, the flowers died within 24 hours of receiving them. This last time, the vase included with the flowers was broken. I sent a picture of hte vase to Winstons to alert them (hey, they may have gotten bad supplies from a vendor), but received no reply to two separate emails. I'm not sure if this is because I ordered them over the web (I was away on business). It's not that the flowers are bad, in fact, they are very nice. It's that for the money you spend, the aggravation isn't worth it. You only get one chance to make an impression with flowers... read more

coming from someone who used to work at winston's, this is absolutely the best location. i love them all, but this one is not a store, it's an experience. you walk into a lush green indoor garden...not a flower store. i mean of course there are beautiful flowers , but really the highlights of this store are: tons of high-quality plants that range from succulents to orchids; the employees' amazing interior design skills (they are especially good at picking out cool furniture); and the feeling of relief you get when you walk into the store or the greenhouse. honestly, once you walk in you'll just have a sigh of relief because you are in a beautiful plant and flower wonderland that has a modern design but is still very earthy. honestly i would trust these people to design anything. go here for fun, for flowers, for plants or even for garden design. read more

I recently stopped in to purchase a holiday wreath for my front door (I've been both a fan and customer for many years but hadn't been in awhile). I ended up with the large greens wreath for $50. When I approached the counter to pay, the salesperson asked if I'd like them to add a bow and proceeded to show me the selection to choose from. Fast forward to paying when I questioned how the total had increased beyond the simple math of adding up what I was purchasing and I was told the bow was $40. Don't consumer protection laws prohibit businesses from not informing customers of additional costs? I am fully aware that I would pay more for their quality and design, but slipping in extra costs is criminal. read more

Fine for arrangements but if you just want flowers or plants, stay away. They've become very ordinary and extraordinarily over-priced. Here are some recent examples: Hellebores which are easily obtained for $9.99 at Trader Joe's or 16.99 at Mahoney''s are $40.00 each at Winston's--same size, same quality. Large air plants are $8-$10 elsewhere and $25 each at Winston's. Even if you're able to pay that much, suggest you shop elsewhere and donate the balance to a worthwhile cause. read more

I ordered a dozen roses delivered to my spouse at work just as I have done for past 20 years.This year I switched to Winston' Flowers due to their reputation and location just across the street from my spouse's place of business.Three of the roses arrived dead or dying. They were immediately called and despite being located across the street, they would not come to replace roses. I am extremely disappointed at the quality and service. I expected unparalleled quality and service for a $150 for a dozen roses from such a renowned florist.Their inability and unwillingness to drive less than 5 minutes to correct what should have been a loving and beautiful gift has ruined this Valentine's Day. read more

When my husband sends me flowers it's always from Winston Flowers. Not only are the flowers always amazing but so is their customer service. My husband sent me flowers at work 2 days ago and as I was carrying them they slipped out of my hand and crashed to the floor. I was able to salvage the flowers and put them in a bucket. 1 hour later the nicest lady ever called me from Winston's to make sure I got my delivery (my husband never leaves a card "if you don't know they are from me, than we have a problem") I told her that they were beautiful but i dropped them and broke the vase.
