My wife and I began doing our income taxes at Del Greco five years ago, very basic, reasonable cost, then the second year the program is illuminated to include an investment scheme or no more tax services! Well, I'm 66yo now, had to move some retirement funds around and thought, "OK, we can park the money with their Great American Insurance Group with the understanding that this is some of our retirement Fun-Money that we will access off and on to do some fun stuff!" Within a year I needed cash for knee replacement surgery. Got $5K and paid over $1,000.00 "surrender fee." Then needed $20K and got socked for over $3,000.00 "surrender fee" and found out after two yrs that our money is locked into a 20 year maturity program and we shouldn't touch it for 20 yrs or get hit with these ridiculous fees if we do! The whole plan with Mike at Del Greco was made EXTREMELY CLEAR = we need easy access to our money ~ which was totally ignored and placed in a wholly inappropriate program without ever communicating details to us! Horrible, terrible, sad experience. We have had to get all of our funds recently, over $20K more, due to cancer treatment needs, and were hit with over $6,000.00 more in "surrender fees" from Great American because Del Greco does not listen, does not communicate clearly, and does not provide professional customer service.
