There are ropes to hold to but the little daredevil in her would just run across so it is important to be watchful of the child and be sure they won't trip and fall through the ropes. 2) The whole playground has a rubbery ground so it is very comfortable and safe. 3) There is a splash pad in between the toddler and older children sections. I am uncertain when it actually turns on. We have been twice, once at 9 AM and a second time at 3:30 PM. It was on in the afternoon and several kids were running in and out of the splash pad. It's a great option to have when it's hot and sunny out. 4) There are six tennis courts nearby and this works out perfectly for our preschooler to squeeze in a tennis session with her daddy before or after the playgrounds. Cons: 1) Not a con at all - But the playground is so vast that I can barely capture the whole frame in one picture!

Another huge plus is the tennis courts which is incredibly convenient for our firstborn's private lessons with her daddy. The playground covers a lot of ground and if you have an active child, it could be easy to lose sight of them. However, the playground is fully fenced and the spaciousness allows children to freely roam without feeling claustrophobic. There are a variety of equipment that consists of roller and molded slides, seesaw, climbing ropes, saucer swing, musical elements, and zip line. Our girls have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect and we have visited during the week and on weekends.

I was impressed. We had the entire pool room to ourselves, with two giant pools, one shallow for the kids with a slide, and the other with lanes for more serious lap swimming. They also have a large hot tub which I enjoyed immensely. There was room for our food, gifts and seating all in view of the pools, and their locker rooms, showers and restrooms were well maintained. The doors lead out to a nice patio area in the back, where there are outdoor pools and beautiful scenery. I'm sure we were inside because it had rained that day. I don't know what my cousins paid for this private event on a weekend, but it was worth it. Fun was had by all.

And we had great sunny warm weather in mid-May 2026. But because of the record April showers peak bloom time was 1-2 weeks earlier this year. Watch their Instagram for updates! This park was designed by Jens Jensen (Central Park, Humboldt Park), and it shows from its winding pathways to separate elevated area that proved a perfect picture perch for local prom kids. Ample signage of lilacs, flowers and trees helps with ID. You gotta visit once in your lifetime during peak lilac bloom, and its worthy of strolls all year round.

A stroll around the park is super relaxing here since you're surrounded by plenty of colors and pleasant aromas. Definitely a must visit for any tulip or lilac lover. Worth a special trip due to the quality of the park and the beautiful views.

Definitely wear old shoes if it's been raining. The crushed stone makes a white paste that will cover your shoes and lower pants legs if you're walking fast; it brushes off easily once dry, but maybe not the place to wear the new running shoes. The Mill and museum were closed for the season, but it was still interesting to see the mill from the outside. Trails are all short with the longest being 2.5 miles, but it's easy to patch a few together if you want to do a longer walk.
