First time last night, and it did not disappoint! I have been wanting to go for quite some time and…read morefinally went. $25 at the door includes skate rental. Staff are super nice, skates were comfy and the wheels light up, and DJ played fun tunes. Generally a feeling of happy people all around as you skate, which feels kinda rare these days - people being relaxed and happy all around. Can't wait to come back and so glad this place exists so I can come and skate!

Brought my own rollerblades, but otherwise it's $5 to rent skates here, I believe cash only. They sold water on site, but no concessions otherwise. Disco lights spinning around the room from floor to ceiling. Banners of musical artists like Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and James Brown hanging near the DJ booth. Church pews lined up against the side walls, providing both seating and a place to store my stuff while skating. I did see lockers in near the entrance too, but I'm not sure if people use those. I started early, so it was easy to skate around people before it got busier. It never got overcrowded. There was a good amount of inexperienced skaters in the rink, but thank god not too many kids, so it was easier to dodge them. The skating surface was a little rough on the edges, none of it really that smooth. It was basically wooden floor from an old church, which looked like they may have attempted to partially polish it at some point. Mostly 80's and 90's hip hop and rnb played through the speakers with other random tunes thrown in the mix. A songlist including SWV's Right Here, If It Isn't Love by New Edition, Don't Walk Away by Jade, Creep by TLC, and Dancing Queen. The DJ wasn't really doing much. In fact, at times he was just skating and the music sucked. It was fine for the most part though. The place isn't perfect and admission is slightly overpriced. But it's a lovely indoor skating rink, and I had a positive experience overall.

Best when you roll in with your friends…read more I have a strong love/hate relationship with this rink for many reasons (in the short 5 months I've started roller skating). I'll start with the negative; With any public place, you really have to watch out for yourself and your safety. I've gotten physically shoved by one of the older white men who felt like he owned the rink. There are times where you have sketchy people who don't skate and are eying your valuables or may be harassing people. There are some older folks you may need to watch out for, as they are extremely territorial and not friendly to beginners and new skaters. I will say that it is only a tiny percentage of the folks that skate here. On the positive side; It's generally pretty welcoming. If someone is working on something cool that you're interested in and you ask, some people are pretty cool with showing you the ropes and love working on it with you! I've made so many good friends just showing up and working on my own moves and people chatting me up. In general, you just gotta show up and assess the vibe, as it really changes depending on who's skating there. Generally I'd advise going on: Tuesdays and Fridays anytime from 4pm - 10pm (solid group of skaters who watch out for each other and bring lights and music when it gets dark) Saturdays and Sundays anytime from 12pm - 6pm (A lot busier and crowded. Your experience may vary depending on who you know and feel comfortable skating with on the weekend). I typically always go with friends for safety.
