While this was the most unique mini golf experience I've ever had, the $31.88 admission was way too expensive. The venue was very small and indoors. Strangely nothing else was open and the bathrooms were tucked in the back of the building. We showed up a bit early and were allowed to enter before a larger group. Despite this, there was still congestion. There was also little airflow and everything was slightly sticky. There was also a table filled with candy that was accessible at any time. Each hole was well decorated and technology was mostly functional. The balls kept getting stuck but the employees were quick in assisting us. While the graphics looked great, I wished more went into the actual gameplay. The courses were confined to a small area so we practically swung hard and straight repeatedly. This was advertised to have an escape room twist and it felt like a strange add in towards the end. However, I found the that section to be the most exciting and creative. Production value was high but gameplay was lackluster, especially for the high price. Personally I would take my $32 and put it solely into an escape room or mini golf.

Came here on a Tuesday night around 6:30, it was pretty dead but still very cute! The staff was super helpful and friendly even though we were the last people there for the night, they explained everything and were very nice. The courses were a little complex to understand given its minigolf and puzzles combined, but once you figure it out, it's a good challenge. The last bit is an escape room which was a surprise but all in all it was a fun spot for a date or just a fun night with friends. Plus the location is unbeatable, right next to palace of fine arts.

Lollyland surpassed my expectations! You dont have to be into mini-golf, escape rooms, or sweets in particular (but it's a plus if you are because they have free candy :D) regardless, you'll have a great time here. Went here for my bf's birthday with some friends. I really wanted to try this place out because I have done a couple of the rooms at Palace Games and Lollyland is a complete 180 from their usual theme. Additionally, it's a popup so I wanted to try it before it potentially goes away! First things first, Lollyland is NOT an escape room! Nor is it a true mini golf hole-after-hole course! It's an overall fun experience that puts your team through fun mini games, team based experiences, and takes typical mini golf to the next level. When I heard the concept of Lollyland I thought "okay mini golf is pretty fun, but what sets this apart from other experiences?" and it's truly the concept, the way the games are curated, the tech with the "booping in" with the clubs, and more. Throughout each hole, you're given clues to solve the final part of the experience which is the escape room-like experience. Your whole experience has a purpose! This is definitely different from your typical experience and for $32/person it's definitely worth it (I definitely grabbed more candy on the way out! lol)

One-of-a-kind mini golf course at the Palace of Fine Arts. In association with Palace Games Escape Rooms, it involved collecting clues at each hole (about 8-9 holes total) with some riddles thrown in for fun on the screens, and escape room-ish challenges at the finale (two rooms). The mini golf holes were playful and colorful, with the theme all about the sweets (they even had bowls of free candy for participants). Definitely unique, as some of the holes had other games integrated into it... like the Choxolate hole being a game of tic tac toe, or the Sweet Spot hole incorporating a word game (sort of like hangman or wheel of fortune, with players putting to hit letters on the ground). The holes weren't just decorative, many were quite challenging. The golf clubs actually had tiny little screens at the tip which gave instructions for where and when to go. And the signage at each hole was very clear and labeled sufficiently, clear and simple. We didn't encounter any technical issues during our time here, but the staff was readily available to help if needed. They were very prompt with the reservation time, we arrived 12 minutes early, and had to wait or come back at our start time (which resulted in zero wait times on the course itself, so it was timed nicely). There were a couple tables with seating and table/board games available off the course. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativity of Lollyland overall. It seemed to be organized and well thought out. Even pop music playing in the background, songs like Maroon 5's Sugar (how fitting). The whimsical props and setting, combined with unexpected competitive tasks, allowed for an enlivening experience worth the cost.

Lollyland was such a pleasant and fun experience. It's very interactive and good for groups. I came here two weeks ago with friends. The golf putt itself has your name on it digitally and tells you when it's your turn to putt as well as which golf course to go to next. They also provide you with candy for free. I highly recommend coming here with friends and your significant other. One of the best mini golfing experiences I've had so far.

This was a fun place to visit! I really enjoyed the concept of interactive mini golf--it's a cute game. When I went with my family and friends, we had the place to ourselves, which was great. The mini golf course is small and short but still a lot of fun. They had free candy, but I wish they offered some actual food and drinks as well.

This place is a bit on the pricey side but for a special occasion and/or special treat it's absolutely worth every penny. If you love mini golf (like I do!) this pop up is not to be missed. The holes are creative, the technology is immersive, and the theming is top tier. Not to mention admission comes with as much free candy as your stomach can handle, and I think I had just shy of ten pieces. Sure, it was a touch indulgent but the sugar high and top tier candy selection brings home the theme and experience to perfection.

This was a fun way to spend some time with the family (15 and 8 year old approved)! Surprised and delighted was what our party thought. Electronic golfing which makes it impossible to cheat, more interactive and helps queue the crowd. A candy table is available at the entrance to fuel the fun. One thing is that it was a little warm and after slamming candy a drink vending machine should definitely be made available. We just finished and I am so parched. The ending was interesting and surprisingly fun! Not sure if we would do it again, but it was a great time for sure.

Gosh! I was expecting so much more from this experience. For context, it was me, my husband, my 16 year old daughter and her best friend. Friend was visiting from out of town so I scoured the net for something new and exciting to do on a Friday night after work. We live in the east bay, so came across the bridge for this. It did not live up to any of our expectations. When we arrived and I saw how small the venue was, my heart dropped. The 2 teens stared at me in disbelief that this is what we were about to do. But I kept a positive attitude throughout the experience. I do appreciate the fact that unlike most mini golf places there was not a clamor of people waiting for us to finish our turn and at this place it specifically lets you know where to go to keep that cadence. I also like the putts told you who was playing and allowed you to end your turn. The cons: the screens that told the story for each hole was so far away and hard to read. When I read candy themed, I was excited and thought of Willy wonka. It was weird because it was advertised as if it was for older people, but yet the gameplay and concept was very childlike. Each hole just kept getting worse and worse even to the point where we just finished it out quicker than normal to move along and be done with it. I really wanted to love this experience so I could tell family and friends about it. But sadly I will not recommend to anyone. It was not giving $30+ pp. more like $10 pp... but even then I'd only commit to that for a family with young kids who could greater appreciate the child like venue.

We were excited to try Palace Games's newest offering! Lollyland is definitely the most high tech of the mini golf places in the Bay Area. Everything - from assigning your club to counting strokes to which hole you visit next - is completely electronic so you don't have to hold anything while you play. Overall, the experience was really fun. Lollyland has some creative new takes on mini golf themes (for example, there's one like hangman, but you have to hit your letters!) and we enjoyed the two small puzzles needed to access the final hole. However, and I believe they're aware of the issue, being so heavily tech reliant means sometimes the glitches really affect game play. Our game (and a couple of other groups too) started off with a series of glitches that eventually resulted in a complete reset of the entire mini golf system. After that, the system ran smoothly for most of the way, although there was still a bit of a delay in between each putter's ability to put. All in all, a really fun experience with some glitches that I believe they'll figure out soon!

We arrived and the young people running the place hosted our group the best they could. Most eye incredibly kind and the mini golf course looked really cool with all of the San Francisco landmarks built in. We had reserved a small narrow room with a lovely view of the bay. The room has one long table with chairs and nothing else in it. There was no place for gifts or for the cake, which was odd to me. We met with the host (who we later learned was the manager) and reviewed the schedule for our group. We had originally reserved the space from 2-4pm but paid for an additional half hour to extend the pay until 4:30pm. We planned to play mini golf first, then eat, then play in the arcade for the last half hour. We went over this schedule with our host when we first arrived and they confirmed our plan. The boys enjoyed the competition of mini golf and the food (chicken tenders, fries, veggie egg rolls, wings and mozzarella sticks) was perfect for that age group. Where everything went horribly wrong is when the boys tried to use their unlimited arcade play cards. We actually went to the arcade ahead of schedule just after 3:45 and their cards already didn't work. They read "low balance" and wouldn't operate games. We started collecting them and asking the staff for help to get them fixed. None of the staff understood what was wrong or how to fix it. After about 10 minutes of confusion someone got the manager, a young woman named Diana. She took the stack of non- working cards and said that she would fix it . She disappeared into a back room for about 15 minutes. We waited with the gaggle of impatient little boys surrounding us, wanting to get back to play. When she came back we were excited and hopeful that she had fixed the problem so we could get the last 10 minutes (at this point) of arcade play, but instead she came out with a print out of the email thread from a week prior showing where it said, in fine print, that game play would end at 4pm even though we had paid extra for the additional half hour. I was livid that this manager would rather waste more of our time -- that should have been a celebration -- waiting for her to print out and highlight the single line we should've remembered that our arcade play time would end at 4pm. Yes, we didn't read the fine print, but what really makes me angry about this situation is that we went over the schedule together at the start of the party and told her that we wouldn't even head towards the arcade until 4pm. That would've been the best time to remind someone that the arcade play ended at 4pm! Not when there is an rambunctious pack of 11 year old bouncing around the arcade and waiting for their arcade play cards. It blows my mind that she chose to print out the multi page email thread rather than just giving us another 15-20 minutes of game play. We all knew we had to leave at 4:30pm. It was a really awful way to end what should have been a fun party and left a really bitter taste in our mouths. I mentioned to the manager that she should consider updating the training so that all hosts understood they should review the schedule AND give reminders if there are any hard stops, and she rolled her eyes at me. That really showed me how much she did not care about customer service. Maybe she was having a hard day and we were the last straw, but it was a really awful experience and an awful way to end a day that should have been fun.

Absolutely unique holes to play that you will want to play them over and over again. There were lots of small groups like us and no one was rushed or waiting. Everyone was polite and knew to skip past us if we were stuck on a hole and come back to it when we were done. Very easy going atmosphere. Lots of fun props and spots to take pictures together. There's a bar with some really delicious food that we enjoyed. There's cocktails available with some extremely fun and unique Holey Moley signature drinks. We tried quite a few and they were delicious and fun. What we liked about it was that we could bring our drinks with us as we putted. Castro Valley hosts this mini golf spot that's an affiliate of the Golfland family and features its two 18-hole ranges perfect for beginners and experts alike. After a few rounds on the green, consider venturing into their arcades to play some good old fashioned video games (Time Crisis and other dual player shooters, Mario Kart and other racing games, and fighting games) and skill games (like skee ball, table air hockey, and claw machines). Be wary, however, for those who have game cards from other Golflands, they're location specific so they won't work here unless you have one from this spot. Starting from the giant parking lot which is just off of a busy street, you'll make your way through the gates and stroll up the long walkway to the front desk where you'll register to get your clubs and balls (you'll get your choice from among a few colors). From there, you'll have your pick of the two courses, one for novices and one for the more adventurous. Make your way through the obstacles and mark your scorecard to determine the winner of bragging rights! We came for a birthday party and logistically, they have the main room amongst the beginner course which is well lit from all the open windows but I believe they have another space near the arcade for those looking for a more enclosed, private gathering. Once the guests arrived, they hosted an orientation and got the members all equipped and ready to go. The youngsters had a lot of fun and can't wait to return! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. You'll interact with them more at the arcades especially if you'll be redeeming prizes with your hard-earned digital tickets. The ticket values on the top tier prizes were pretty large but for frequent visitors or lucky winners, you can get some pretty neat stuff here. The mini prizes definitely reminded me of my times at the arcades when I was a kid, very nostalgic! Overall, Golden Tee Golfland is a well-maintained, family friendly environment conducive to an awesome time outdoors as well as an exhilarating experience soaking up the old school arcade vibe. We accumulated a ton of steps during our visit here and the kids could not stop hitting the greens to get their fluorescently colored balls into the holes. The obstacles are fun - there are water effects and moving doors and bridges. While most of them functioned as expected, there were a few hiccups with some like balls getting stuck or certain doors just not functioning as expected. For wetter seasons, the holes for the balls do end up pooling which makes picking the balls out a bit of an unpleasant endeavor. For being exposed to the outdoors, the place was in pretty good shape, however. It's a bummer that the Golflands don't have a unified system for the game cards as it just incentivizes families to just pick one and stick with it instead of venturing out and exploring the other amazing locations like this one. If you're a local, this is a great place to take a date or the family - it'll tee you up for a good time!
