I was having issues calling to make an appointment so I emailed and Dr Winters emailed me right away with her cell phone number and was quick to respond and was super nice. Although I didn't see Dr Winters, I got to see Michelle for my first session today and OMG it was meant to be! You walk in and automatically feel calm with the sound machines and atmosphere. I walked in with my anxiety being about a 8-9 and left with it being zero! What! Renee saved my marriage! I know my sounds extreme but without her, I don't think our relationship would be where it's at now. Or at least we wouldn't have gotten here as soon as we did. She made us realize that the things we thought we had on lock down were really not and they need some fixing. Its not always going to be easy to hear what she has to say , but let's face it, we were searching for a therapist because we needed help/ just a little push in the right direction. She is straightforward and but still makes you feel comfortable enough to reach out when you need advice, even after hours. I 100% recommend her form the bottom of my heart. Let's put it this way, I haven't talked to her in over a year but I still felt the need to send her a thank you letter letting her know that we are still going strong, because of her. My husband chose Robyn as our marriage counselor. She's never been married before or had kids so without that immediate family experience or long-term relationship experience, the entire counseling session seemed bogus. She was nice but was stereotypical. I didn't like my experience at all. She sided with my husband 90% of the time. Sometimes people are glib talkers and my husband is in sales, so he's very good at what he does and he sold her on his claimed innocence. Without knowing any of us, I think she should have listened more than judge me. The experience felt more like a blame game to me, with the two of them aggressively teaming up against me at mostly every session. I don't think it's a counselor's job to choose sides, fuel old resentments and ignite old anger. Just saying. My husband and I are still married. Finally got around to stop having him quote everything from the books she had recommended. Sometimes he would even use the terms incorrectly and that made the books less helpful. My unsolicited advice to Robyn is to please hold back on passing judgement too quickly. I appreciated her candid feedback highlighting all my negative behaviors and bringing them to my attention, but I think she should have highlighted all the good about me too and do the same for my spouse. He can't be all 100% correct. Overall, she seemed like a decent human being but not a marriage counselor that I would recommend. If you are not 100 percent perfect in the relationship, don't go to her! We all have our reasons for marrying someone, and sometimes we may not make the best choices or we are unlucky with finding a compatible partner or finding that perfect mate, and jumping on the blame wagon isn't helpful. We are all making lemonade out of lemons and working with what we have in the time that we are given on earth. Let's not pass judgement because our lives are not a straight road. And there's no one formula for every situation. read more

Unfortunately, I chose Dr. Renee Winters hoping she would aid me in my co-parenting relationship with a narcissist. The first few sessions we had in 2017 were great and very refreshing as she likes to sound casual and even curse, which I actually equate to being honest. However, as usual, my narcissist stopped showing and it was just me fixing "my problems." (If you've ever experienced a relationship with a narcissist you know exactly what I mean). A year or so later I proposed to my narc to see Renee so she would ease his mind to let him know that his fears of me raising our daughter are unfounded (the man doesn't know me and he thinks that ADHD makes me a danger to our daughter, or at least that's what he tells everyone. Since I called him out on his abuse I'm obviously crazy, right?). Anyway, I became sick and tired of having to explain my every move to these ignorant people, I agreed to be by seen by Renee for a period of ten weeks and then he'd hand me our child unsupervised (have in mind our daughter has never been in any danger in my care and anyone that knows me knows I'm an incredible mother, but sometimes you do things to appease the narcissist). Renee knew I was in a delicate situation as my co-parent kept making any excuse he could to keep our 3-year-old from seeing me (like his own mother showing up late once to drop her off). Yes, that bad. I've had 4 years of hell by this man. During one of our first sessions I decided to express my anger towards what has been happening with the system and my ordeal to liberate myself from all types of abuse, she then pointed at me and told me she didn't like me being angry, she lashed out in frustration and told me how her boyfriend left her out of nowhere after 7 years, I didn't pay any mind and listened to her as I understand she is just another human being experiencing pain. However, during the next sessions, she spent most of the time that she spoke to me complaining about her family, especially her narcissistic mother, and talking about her daughter's accomplishments as if it was a measure of her success. I'm sorry but your stories do not make me feel better about my situation. I've been to many therapists and I never experienced such a thing. I found Renee to be completely unprofessional and a waste of money because I felt I was the one helping her release her stuff and what I was releasing I could do so with a tree, for free. Then I found out she was seeing my co-parents family, and since they're chatty, they spoke to me about the things she would say during therapy. I was shocked! She was also telling them other personal things about her life and informing them about me. I didn't wish to continue but my co-parent decided if I didn't report to Renee (who was reporting back to him), he wouldn't let me see our daughter. So I sucked it up until she decided to reschedule me last minute knowing the consequences would be paid by my daughter. I pressured her, as any mother would, and asked her to squeeze me in anywhere, she didn't like that I insisted so she decided she would punish me by canceling me completely for the week. I was obviously pissed and decided to go back to my old therapist and go back to court. I did, but the judge was painted a picture by my co-parent as if I was non-compliant AND defiant. Authority figures obviously do not like to be called out on their mistakes even if it is the truth, so my co-parent decided to write in his response that "Dr. Renee" thought I should not be allowed to spend time with my daughter. Since this incident, I havent been allowed a visit with my 3-year-old. I want Renee to know that her selfish actions have BIG consequences and that she aided a narcissist who I may now think is a sociopath due to his lack of empathy, in keeping a beautiful 3-year-old in a traumatic situation where she is being kept from her mama. Sorry to say this but "Dr. Winters" is not a professional therapist nor a compassionate human being, she knew the tendencies of the narcissist I'm dealing with and decided to ignore it and put her ego and her personal life over the wellbeing of her patients and of an innocent child. I hate to be the person to write this review but unless you want a therapist who sounds like a friend and that makes you feel good for an hour, please be careful when it comes to delicate situations like mine. And before I get any admin responses or fan comments on this, know that I have proof to back up everything I am saying and I have no shame in posting all my screenshots if this is going to save somebody from being in a situation like mine. My wife and I have worked with Renee for a number of sessions and having worked on us, We have since brought in our teenager to also see Renee. We've been able to find some very simple but massively important things for us to work on and it has really helped us. Renee has been able to help us understand things and to communicate better with each other. If there was one aspect of our sessions that I appreciate the most, it would be Renee's direct and honest approach. Don't go to see any councilor unless you can have an open mind, I may not always like what is said, but that doesn't mean I was right in the first place, something I have learned and still learning. I was in such a state of despair for the sake of my teeange son when I started looking for a therapist for him. Robyn was the best blessing that was put in our path. My son was struggling for months with severe depression, and I did not know how to help him, but had offered him therapy as an option to be able to discuss things with someone other than myself. When he finally accepted the help he was probably near one of the lowest points he has been at. Many different personal things transpired and she never missed a beat with my son. Facilities are fine except they really overdo it with the febreeze (or whatever they are spraying to cover up odors). Maybe the other therapists are fine but I only met with Robin. she comes off likeable and disarming at fist but makes assumptions about how you "should" feel and even though I would correct her multiple times regarding this she still never listened. She made more assumptions than made me comfortable and never offered any suggestions on things to work on with my current situation which is why I came to her in the first place. Extremely expensive, charging rates the same as those with enough training to be called "doctor".....but she is not. She can be a bit negative at times which is the last thing you want in a therapist. She was definitely not the right fit for me. read more

My ex insisted we attend couples therapy at this establishment with Brian. What ensued still shocks me. My ex is a narcissist, and Brian played into her sickness completely. I came to him for a safe place to peacefully end my relationship with my abusive ex, and he falsely comforted me in our one on one session saying he helps people get out of relationships as well as fixes them. I made it clear I needed help starting the divorce process, but instead his goal was to scare me into staying committed to a narcissist. Brian would allow my ex to bowl over me in every session, where I barely got a word in edgewise. It was made clear Brian and my ex talked to eachother outside of sessions, where I did not. Brian and my ex would act out what could only have been rehearsed scenes to try and guilt me, and when that didn't work, they attempted to scare me with ridiculous numbers for alimony and child support. My ex told friends and family that she didn't care if it was fear and debt that kept me in the relationship, and clearly Brian felt the same. Even worse, Brian spread personal information about me to his other clients (my ex's family that are also clients. I suspect this is why my ex wanted me to see Brian so badly). Brian is the reason my ex thought it was OK to keep my son from me as much as possible. He suggested a visitation schedule that was so minimal, that the court mediator stated it wasn't "nearly enough time". Not only were my sessions a waste of money and time, but in my court battle with my ex, the damage that Brian encouraged my ex to inflict is still being dealt with. This establishment is completely unprofessional, and will only cause you grievances. read more

I started coming to Dr. Winters for couples therapy. I'd been to other counseling places in the past and Renee's approach is completely and refreshingly different! She spends enough time on your past to understand you, but the majority of the sessions are about real time and practical solutions to day to day issues. She helped me to see the big picture in only a few sessions. Once my couples therapy sessions closed, Renee kept in touch showing she truly cares about her patient's long term success. We decided to try couples therapy and went to our first appointment with Dr. Renee Winters and she was great! We got along with her very well and we felt very comfortable speaking to her. One of things I appreciated the most was that she was very direct and gave us her honest opinion. We were new to the area and wanted to find a therapist that we connected with and I am so happy that we found her! Sometimes it's tough to find someone that a couple agrees on but we walked out of the office feeling empowered and happy that we found the person that would help guide us during some difficult situations in our relationship. If I could give zero stars I would! My friend just killed herself! If Renee had worked with her this may not have happened but instead Renee pushed her on to interns, which my friend expressed she needed a professional and did not "follow through". That is what Renee does, pushes you on to interns. Renee also violated the privacy code when she told my spouse what we discussed in our one on one session when she was just my personal therapist. This caused major issues in our marriage and Renee offered no apologies. She also offered no condolences after my friend's passing. She instead sent me an inappropriate aggressive text in the middle of the night (3 am) about my review. She dominates the sessions by talking about herself and sometimes talks way too much. She does more harm than good! Stay away! read more

On the advice of a friend I went to one of the socials that Winter Solstice Therapy Group was having. I was pleasantly surprised at the wonderful individuals that were there. I actually ended up meeting several women that I hope to network with in the future as well as a future happy hour friend.
