We LOVE Winters Chapel UMC Preschool! Our oldest son started there when he was one and continued until he graduated to kindergarten. Our second son is there now, and the baby will be joining him next year. We can't say enough wonderful things about this school, the staff, their great mix of fun and age-appropriate education, the wonderful extra programs they have, the community with other parents, and the warm overall environment. When our oldest was there, we started him off with just a couple days a week. Before long he was begging us to let him attend more days each week, and he sometimes cried on school holidays because he missed being there. Our middle child was dealing with separation anxiety before starting preschool and wouldn't let us leave him anywhere, but within a week or two at Winters Chapel, he was as happy as could be and soon began allowing us to leave him with other caretakers as well. Winters Chapel does a wonderful job of combining fun and learning so that the kids are learning all the time without even realizing it! There are wonderful specials every day like math and science, music and yoga, and fun after school opportunities to extend the day as well. They spend lots of time outside on the playground, create wonderful art projects, and have fun learning basics like letters and numbers, phonics, counting, patterns, and even early reading. And they learn skills like sitting and listening, following directions, and playing well with others. The staff and teachers make every effort to personally know not just the kids in their own class, but all the other students in the school and the parents as well. And some of our dear friendships have formed out of relationships with the other parents in our kids' classes. It is a warm and supportive community, and a place where kids thrive. We have had the most wonderful experience with WCUMCP - we LOVE being part of this community! Our youngest (almost 3yo) started when he was 10-months-old and is absolutely thriving there! His teachers are easy to get in touch with, as is the administration, and he is supported in many ways, both emotionally and academically. As soon as he was old enough, we signed him up for 5-days-a-week! Before he was able to go all week, he attended WCUMCP *and* another preschool both 2-days-a-week each and to be perfectly honest, while the other school looked much fancier on the outside, it was more expensive for fewer hours AND we genuinely had no connection with his teachers or any staff. I truly wouldn't have been able to pick his teachers out of a line-up - and I was there with him every day. We probably got photos of him 4 times all year. At WCUMCP we get lots of pictures and videos (especially when he was in the baby class and couldn't tell us about his day) and there's lots of opportunity to see other families at events or just at pick-up/drop-off. I also think that, compared to other programs in the area, the value for money here is fantastic. He's also attended summer camp and has had the best time - even though it's not all the same staff for the summer (they have a variety of nearby teens and college-aged "kids" working along with some of the school-year staff). It's also very easy to sign up for late pick-up if you need to. The app they use is incredibly easy for texting staff, filling out forms, and getting pictures from the week. We originally got the recommendation for WCUMCP from a neighbor who now has a 16yo and a 19yo - so it's clearly been popular with our area for a long time, even with several administration changes. We plan on staying with WCUMCP until our little guy is ready for kindergarten. We genuinely can't recommend it highly enough. Ten stars! read more

Winters Chapel Preschool is an AMAZING preschool. The best we have found (and we have visited and done a TON of research of schools all throughout the Atlanta area!). The teachers and staff are incredibly warm and loving--your child will be known and cared for not only by their classroom teachers, but also by every single teacher/staff in the school. The creativity of the crafts and learning opportunities are top notch. They frequently have creative programming, like puppet shows, firemen visits, Latin American dance tutorials, fun holiday activities, storytellers. Also, the children have regular opportunities to do after "school" activities (like gardening, creative arts, games, Spanish, soccer). And during school hours, my children participate in activities like yoga (adorable!), music, and art. All this seems like it would break the bank, right? Not at all! Financially, the tuition is incredibly affordable. The least expensive of the schools I have researched. Lastly, they have a really fun summer camp program so your kids can have a blast during the summer months as well (each week has a different theme with matching activities to foster hands-on learning). My kids love going to school--and it wasn't always this way: before attending Winters Chapel, they had MAJOR separation anxiety. But the staff were so patient and thoughtful about getting them acclimated to the environment. Now they leave the car with a wave and a smile. I cannot say enough good things about this school. Winter's Chapel UMC Preschool has been the best preschool experience I could have asked for. I chose this school in 2011 because of its smaller class sizes and family like atmosphere. They had the most flexible scheduling and happy parents and happy kids all around. A bonus was, it was less expensive than other schools I toured. My oldest (now 6) attended 3 years and my youngest (just turned 4) will complete 4 years in 2016/2017 before starting kindergarten. Every teacher we have had has loved, cared for, and taught my girls as they would their own. We have maintained relationships with many of those teachers outside of school and I am incredibly grateful for their patience and guidance. My children had separation anxiety in their first year (and more for my younger child). The teachers never pushed but always supported and worked to help them gain confidence and foster friendships that in turn helped them both learn to love school. They carefully observe each child and do whatever they can to make sure the classroom and activities are the best fit. In addition to the nurturing environment Winter's Chapel has an excellent balance of educational instruction and learning through play. The extracurricular options such as ballet, gardening, art, soccer, and more are great opportunities. They also include so many enriching experiences as part of the regular curriculum such as weekly math and science focus, yoga, and many incredible cultural programs throughout the year. read more

We have been at Winter's Chapel since 2010 when we moved to the south Johns Creek area. My oldest son started there at age 2 and continued through pre-K. He started Kindergarten ahead of most of his class and ready to read, despite being a late summer birthday boy. He is now reading at a 5th grade level in 2nd grade. My middle and youngest sons are there now and they simply love going to school. The best part about Winter's Chapel is the genuine caring and kindness that all the teachers have for the children. It is everything you want in a preschool, your children learn and play, the teachers and staff truly know how to nurture growing minds while providing the loving support you want for your preschooler. The community of moms that you meet is wonderful but there is no pressure or snottiness like I have felt at other schools. Personally I love that they have a wonderful balance of education and play. In preschool I think children should get to play more, but they also build a strong curriculum for learning, especially in the pre-K 4s class, but the younger classes have a nice foundation leading into the pre-K curriculum. They also have so many fun "extras" like yoga, music, art and more. The cost of this school is also less than most other comparable schools in the area and I feel that you get as much if not more! We enrolled our daughter in the 1-2 year old class and then re-enrolled her in the 2-3 year old class. We love the activities that they provide and our daughter is always glad to go to school there. All this and the school is very affordable. She has a math and science lesson on Mondays, a Music class on Tuesdays, and on Thursdays she has a Yoga class. My daughter seems to love the yoga class most of all because she constantly does poses at home. My wife and I have been very pleased with the patience they have working with our daughter since she can be a bit difficult at times. After we recently moved the drive has been a bit difficult to take her there but we couldn't bring ourselves to move her to any of the numerous preschools that are in our new location. read more

This school is simply the BEST ! We toured so many other schools and they all felt like businesses trying to sell us something. This school feels like a family. The teachers are AMAZING. You can see how much they care and how much effort they put in their work. They make parents feel truly welcome to visit school and your child 's class. The principal is very involved in everything. I found this preschool back in 2012 when my daughter was 6 months old. She is now 3 almost 4 and continues to go here. This is by far the best preschool around. I am so glad I found it. I have watched my daughter grow so much since attending. They have the best Staff all so caring and very attentive to each child different needs. As good as it gets. Both of my girls went through this school and there is no comparison. They offer the newest teaching techniques integrated with old school methods that work well. This is hands-down leaps and bounds better, more nurturing and my daughter is thriving ten times more than the last one.
