As a midwesterner, anytime you see the ocean it feels unreal. We strolled down the beach for hours and came back the next morning before we left. AFter reading reviews, I did't realize it had a bad rep in the past, it's totally nice and clean now. We enjoyed this long stretch of sand, shells, and water.

This is a nice secluded beach that you'd like if you like th landscape of Mars. The whole beach is…read morerocks, sand and grass, but mostly rocks. It's super secluded, so you'd enjoy the solitude if you're a thinking machine. There's an inviting little mound that beckons you to explore the view beyond, but alas, it's just a little lagoon and some buildings. Still it's a nice getaway, if you're into movies like the Shipping News, Michael Clayton, and Manchester by sea.

There are no deer really but you might see coyotes so keep your dogs leashed. It is also not a foresty island, it is mostly made up of the wastewater treatment plant at the center, with this 2.6 mile loop trail around the perimeter. That does not take away from the views of the islands and the city skyline. There is a beautiful Celtic cross memorial up a small hill on the trail, that looks out to Boston and commemorates many Irish immigrants who perished and were buried in unmarked graves, as were many Native Americans here. There is a fishing pier and a rock wall walkway. No real facilities or food, so bring your picnic. There are many benches to sit on, and the flat rock wall itself. The walk from the Deer Island parking lot to the Celtic cross is about 12 minutes, depending on your pace. Watch the planes line up to make their meticulous touchdown on Logan's 2-foot landing strip. :) It is a pleasant and reflective stroll and you can do as much or as little as you wish.

A lovely beach on the North Shore--clean, spacious, and perfect for swimming or just relaxing on…read morethe sand. We arrived in the evening, so parking was free, however they do charge during the day. Even with the sun setting, the water was surprisingly comfortable and we were able to swim without freezing too badly. There's also a convenient bathhouse on site, and a restaurant just as you enter the parking lot. Definitely planning to come back on a hot summer day and soak in the sun.

I think I just found my favorite spot for planespotting in Boston. Even though I went here at…read morenight, when it was really hard to see, I still found this little alcove quaint and enjoyable. It is the Gravelly Point of Boston. Why? Gravelly Point (a park in Arlington where parkgoers can see planes land into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport literally over their heads), has planes. Constitution Beach has plane taking off and landing right in front of you. Gravelly Point has trains, with the CSX RF&P Subdivision and Long Bridge walking distance. Constitution Beach has the Blue Line on the T running underneath your feet. I also like the pedestrian bridge that looks like a series of waves cresting and falling into the ocean. Something about a fall beach makes it all the more prettier...

Parking can make things a little tricky, but you won't need to walk for more than 10-15 mins from your spot to access the beach. Beach access is $10 a head, which may seem steep but I think is pretty average for beaches nowadays. The sand was nice, the beach staff was friendly, and the water was SO clean. This is a fabulous little sandy beach located at the end of Revere Beach on the Lynn end. I had…read morethe pleasure of growing up on this beach, all through high school and college and more. There are too many memories to mention. All fabulous! This is basically a private neighborhood beach run by the Point of Pines Beach Association. The Association is funded by donations from the residents.. Gor anyone that's lucky enough to live in the Point of Pines being on this Beach should double the value of your home as it's like you're in Cape Cod year round. If you know anyone that lives in this neighborhood make sure that you make your way down here this summer and enjoy your day at the beach. FYI there is absolutely no street parking at all what so ever.. consider yourself warned. Tickets are hefty I give Point of Pines Beach a Solid 5 Stars

Eliot Circle is actually a rotary at the very beginning of Revere Beach on the Winthrop side…read more It's an extremely small rotary compared to larger ones like Bell Circle the largest in the country. Unlike most rotaries Eliot is located on the shore so it has parking spots available it also has benchs available for viewing the ocean and grassy areas for picnics. It also has a small stretch of sea wall which is great to sit upon and of course America's first public beach Revere Beach is right there. The parking is free There is no entrance fee the grassy area is benches and beach all have no admission. This is a nice quiet end of the beach great for starting a bicycle ride or a measured walk. This is also the only area along all 3 miles of Revere Beach that has trees for shade. This is a great Area of the beach to pull up a chair and spend the day as there are venues within a block away very convenient also the bathhouse is about a block or two away. Definitely take a peek next time you visit Revere Beach.
