Beautiful beach! Plenty of parking- one way though! You drive past the beach (seems incorrect), turn into the beach parking, and then it's one way back the other direction. It seems incorrect but it's right! Bathrooms are closed for the season when it's not beach season- that sucks because then you have to completely leave the beach. This is a wide beach too, so plenty of space for everyone to set up towels:)

This is hands down the best beach for surfing in the entirety of Massachusetts, on certain days waves can get really good and break at reasonable distance from shore not too close not too far just right, just be sure to check the surf forecast too and bring a 5/4mm wetsuit with 6mm gloves and boots for the winter

Nahant is such a cool beach to visit, and one of the several beaches my Bostonian friend recommended we visit. From Everett to Nahant, it's about a 30 minute drive that was pretty straight away. the coastline and parking is very long, so be prepared to walk a long way depending where you park. The water was FREEZING even in a 93 degree heat wave in June, but overall a gorgeous view from anywhere on the beach. You can even see a good skyline view of Boston from the beach, too!

I just visited this beach and really enjoyed my time here. It's a quick drive from Boston...approximately 30 minutes. Unlike other reviews that mentioned parking being an issue, I had no problems here. There was plentiful parking and it was also free which was a plus! Beach was spacious so lots of room to spread out. The water was cool and refreshing and the views were nice. Only annoying thing was trying to leave. There were long lines backed up and the parking lot is extremely narrow/one way, so it was a little tight trying to get out, but I will be back!!

I come to this beach often, both with and without family. It's $10 for MA residents; they accept card and the yodel app. BONUS TIP: Some local libraries have beach passes (you just have to reserve with time) Otherwise it's a pretty clean beach regarding the sand. The water can sometimes be filled with seaweed depending on the tides. During the weekends, arrive early for parking. It does get filled pretty quickly. The weekdays are more flexible. Limited food options so it's best to pack up food and bring a cooler. There are portable bathrooms on site -- further down on the front end of the beach there are bathroom stalls. Honestly, it's one of the best beaches in the North shore area. The water can be particularly cold but it's expected for the area and depending on the time of year. Note that there is a Lynn side to this beach (entrance of the rotary) and a Nahant side (after the parking entrance)

Pretty nice beach but the parking is pretty terrible. Be prepared to hoof it unless you get there very early. The problem is that the main parking lot is about a mile away from the building that has the bathrooms and showers. Otherwise the beach is very nice with fine sand. Beach is huge at low tide and tiny at high tide but that's life in New England.

I can still remember how beautiful this beach was.

Exquisite beach. Beautiful waves. Clean beach. Gorgeous sand. Sunrise & sunsets are the best here.

Expansive, nice slow grade with great views. parking lot is full length of beach but not free. Probably need to come very early. Residents of Nahant not friendly to outsiders and make it clear you can't park in their neighborhood even though it should be public streets? Lots and lots of trash washed up daily. I usually bring a bag and make 3-4 trips to trash cans/day with goodies that came ashore. Kite surfers fun to watch. There was a brown algae on other side of peninsula that was rough on the nose but less noticeable on this beach. Water appeared clean. This beach could really be a nice gem with a bit of clean up.

Perfect for dogs in the off season. It was clean, and full of friendly people and their dogs. Go during low tide and you'll have so much more beach to work with. I saw many responsible dog owners, cleaning up after their pets. I hope that this continues. No one wants to use a dirty beach. I have not tried this in the Summer yet, but I think parking could be a challenge if you do not arrive early. In the off season, parking didn't seem to be an issue.

What a beautiful beach! I was here today for the first time and loved it. This is the perfect beach for Bostonians who struggle to find clean beaches nearby. Super impressed with the strip of beach. The sand is clean, the water is crystal clear (albeit FREEZING) and I had no concern swimming in it! People were pretty respectful. Nothing major to report. You'll get your run of the mill people blaring their music for all to hear, but that's going to happen at any public beach around here. One thing I would advise is going as early as possible. Seriously, by 9 AM (when I got there) the lot was nearly full! Honestly, this beach is better than Duxbury!

Wonderful beach, but parking 10$... and huge line for it...(in good sunny day of course) . clean pleasant sand, cold water. There are a toilet, a shower, a changing room. Nice place at all.

This is definitely one of my favorite beaches in or around Boston. The sand is soft & the water appears to be clean. There is a large parking lot with tons of spaces. It's pay to park ($10 for in state license plates; $20 for out of state). They take cash, credit, & debit. I typically come during the week & have always been able to find parking, but I hear the weekends get busier.

Pano if the Nahant beast from the east side.

General point I have noticed with beaches in the northeast: these things are not really all sandy - they have some sandy parts but then there is hard packed mud for like 200 ft and then you have water. Very New England-ish so if you are from California or Miami don't get your hopes us. For the rest of the people in New England - not a bad beach. Parking is fairly easy (need to drive a loop out east and then back down west to park) and priced @ $3. Beach itself is a bit calmer than other areas closer to Boston and also fairly clean. We had enough space to play Frisbee on a nice Saturday afternoon. The homes on the bay seem to wrap this beach into a small bay and the water was quite calm. I did see some people kite-surfing so I guess its an option here. Overall - a nice option as far as New England beaches go.

    Perfect day !!

Both sides of the small sandy beach are very rocky almost Cliff like. This is the type of beach if you want to get away from everything and everybody it's definitely the place to hide out for a day and enjoy Mother Nature. If you like to explore bring some really good rock climbing shoes as the rocks are slippery and dangerous make sure you do not climb alone. Remember if you do not have a resident parking sticker there is absolutely no parking for blocks and blocks however with a resident sticker there are seven parking spots that's right only seven. If you're lucky enough to come here you can enjoy the view from four park benches located on the grassy area overlooking the beach. For the dog lovers please leave your loved ones at home as no dogs are allowed on this beach it is strictly enforced. I love Canoe Beach as it is one of the last beaches on the North Shore that you can count on nobody being there when you arrive. You will have a private beach all to yourself. So please remember if you plan on climbing on the rocks have somebody with you because they are slippery and dangerous. This is a great beach to enjoy a sunrise or sunset. The local police usually will not bother you on during a sunrise but they will ask you to leave as the sun sets especially if you're parked illegally. Canoe Beach easily gets awarded 5 Stars ‼

It's a wonderful place to go just to "soak it all in" and take some really beautiful photos. I honestly wanted to leave this place 5 stars so bad but the only thing was stopping be was the hike down to the beach area. There's no pathway and you have to climb over slippery rocks and be very careful even when wearing the right shoes. If you are physically able to go down there though, it's definitely worth it.

You'll see a very casual sign nestled between two houses (one is the castle-like private estate the park is named for). To be honest, I was more enthralled with the castle-like home, but alas, it's a private residence and very exclusive, so you can only see a tiny bit of it. It's hard for a coastal park to blow me away because I have some wonderful ones where I live. But, if you're trying to catch some water views while in Marblehead, you should stop by. I noticed a couple climbing down the rocks and foraging the shoreline, but I can't speak to if that is safe or recommended. There's free street parking and it would be a cool place to take a picnic. When we visited, it was totally quiet and private feeling.
