The Apple Pie candle smells just like an apple pie BEFORE its baked - fresh and sweet. Mind blowing, I know. Not only are the candles great (and reasonably priced I may add), but there are a variety of other local items as well - jewelry, candle holders, etc... If you are looking for a unique gift, this would be a great place to stop. Not only can you shop for all ready made candles, but if you like to do a bit of creating yourself, you can get the supplies, even rent supplies as well as take classes of have a party at Karner Blue. Highly highly recommend stopping in!

I love the creative aroma blends they craft, the environmental awareness used in their production and business practices, and their supporting local and US manufacturers. The owner and staff are friendly and accessible. They have special deals as well, like a % off savings when buying five votive candles. Everyone needs a yummy no-calorie delicious treat sometimes.

I don't understand the person who left that nasty review last year. We're in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and they had time to write a review but not respond to any of the entreaties from the business to make things better? That's just someone who was angry at something else and took it out on this business by leaving that nasty review. I hadn't initially come to this page to write a review but I am so incensed that one person's pettiness would so hurt the ratings of this small family run business that I felt I had no choice but to respond. I first encountered Candle Cocoon (and it's sister business Karner Blue) when the owner had her first shop on Old University Ave. I was given a candle as a gift and loved it so much that I've been a customer since - over 20 years. As a former Franklin/Randall PTO Board member, we knew we just had to ask and Lyschel (the owner) would be up for anything to support the school (or the neighborhood) including donation of materials, demonstrations or even sales benefitting the school. My son still treasures his "wax hand" from a booth they had at our neighborhood 4th of July party when he was 4 (he's now 10). Not only did Lyschel and her staff help many (MANY) small children make candles and dip their hands in wax, but they also did face painting. While I miss being able to shop in store when they were on Monroe St, I understand why their business model has had to shift during the pandemic - with candles in the same diy category as bread from scratch and other handicrafts. With an immunocompromised person business adjacent, of course they would move away from in person shopping. I also understand the frustration of stopping by and not being able to get something, but really? There's no room for grace? A (hard to find and in short supply) hard working employee was short on the phone one time so they decided to trash a business they obviously aren't a regular customer of - that's ridiculous. In summary, if the one star reviewer had actually shopped there before they would've known they weren't speaking to the owner. That employee may no longer even work there - but to besmirch the reputation of an entire business out of spite? That's the kind of review that shouldn't be allowed on yelp. Shop with Candle Cocoon - there's a reason they're so busy. You won't be disappointed.

Loved everything I got from her. Amazing in fragrance oils in soy wax! Fast shipping too.read more

I never got to that store to check it out until 2023. It was just what I imagined beautiful, so much great & amazing stuff to look at and buy. There was Pandora and Vera Bradley, there store offers home decor, dishware, candles, clothing and accessories. I just was in awe, I know that during the Christmas holiday they decorate the store to the nine's. There is ample street parking, if you want a drink afterwards to look through all your baggies to check out your goodies there are bars & restaurants across the street. We saw it and loved it right away, and an employee quickly told us it was the last one. We are building a new home and thought it would be amazing in our foyer, so we bought it. We have purchased expensive furniture at numerous different stores around the Madison area and at one time we had some issues with an item we purchased in Madison. That store went ABOVE AND BEYOND, telling us they would do anything to make it right. Refund, store credit, sending a repair person to our home were all options they gave us. When we bought this table neither one of us recall anyone saying that the sale was final and there were no returns. However, it does say that in the small print on our receipt. To our shock, we learned the table was too long for the spot we intended it for and we have no other place for it. Due to the cost (almost $2,000.00) we reached out to the store to see if we could return it - and we even told them we would be happy with store credit so we could find another, smaller table. The person on the phone was rather short and to the point, telling us "There are no refunds or exchanges, we told you that when you bought it". When we tried to explain that nobody told us that, and we were willing to just get store credit so they would not lose out on a sale, they told us "You will have to talk to the OWNER" who was not there. So we asked for the owner to call us at her earliest convenience. My wife received a call from another employe who was NOT the owner, and she said "I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do". WARNING: If you are looking for good customer service and a store that cares about their customers and will stand behind their products, I would suggest you DO NOT shop here. We have spent a lot of money at this store over the years and this was a major purchase. They did not seem to care if they lost a good customer and all future sales from us.
