Excellent First Visit to Wisconsin River Orthopedics I had my first appointment at Wisconsin River Orthopedics yesterday, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. I was greeted with a warm smile by the receptionist, which immediately made me feel welcomed. The check-in process was fast and easy, and I was called back right on time. The CNA who assisted me was friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the exam. I saw Jen, the Nurse Practitioner, and she was absolutely excellent--polite, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about my right knee issues. She took the time to answer every question I had and didn't end the appointment until she made sure I understood everything clearly. Overall, this was a truly positive experience. My wife experienced excruciating pain after a hip replacement. They would not even acknowledge that the pain was severe. She told the nurse that the pain was worse than giving birth. The nurse said no it isn't. The only drug prescribed was Tramadol which is for moderate pain. I had my knee done elsewhere and was automatically given Tramadol and Percocet. Percocet is much stronger. read more

I had a hip replacement in 2001. I went to WRO in 2020 complaining that I thought the implant had worn out. I was met with a nurse who was the "door keeper". She took an xray and gave me her observation: no revision on the implant was necessary because it wasn't wearing in a 'groove' pattern. After speaking with my PC, & ascertaining my group insurance left me no other choice than THAT orthopedic office to see me locally, I set up another appointment about 3 months later. During this visit, I showed the same nurse that if I made deep bends, you could audibly hear the hip clicking. She acted frustrated with me, said she COULD take this to a Dr & I asked that she did. She returned minutes later, insisting her original diag was correct. - She denied me seeing an actual Dr. In early 2022, now uninsured, I fell down the basement stairs because the hip came out of joint. Was ambulanced to ER, they popped it back in by a WRO Dr who stated it possibly needs a revision. A week later, it popped out again. (For the uninformed, a hip out of joint = graphic and immediate pain). This time the ER Dr (from WRO, but different from previous Dr) scheduled me to be seen for revision surgery. He performed that in Mar of 2022. HE was fantastic. Ultimately, am writing this for people to know they, apparently, have to be their own Dr with this company. And if you are sure something is failing, don't take a nurse's word for it. Had I gone to the next place that would have accepted my insurance in 2020 (100 miles away), I would have gotten the referral for surgery I needed from another Dr. read more

I have never received better care or had a more positive experience in any health care facility. Dr. Todd Duellman is not only a top notch physician but a wonderful person....he goes out of his way to get to know you as a person. The entire staff is great also and highly recommend this facility.
