I have a 3 and 5 year old and they both LOVED it. It's short, sweet, and just enough "wow" without being overwhelming. The cave itself is really cool, with some tighter crevices that made it feel a little adventurous (my kids thought that was the best part), but nothing too difficult or strenuous. If you're worried about that--don't be. It's super manageable and moves at a good pace. Price-wise, it felt totally worth it for a family stop. They've also got a little gift shop at the end which my kids obviously needed to check out lol. If you're passing through, just stop. It's a fun, easy memory to make and doesn't take up your whole day. Would 100% do it again.

The Historical Markers says its the home of Samuel Murrell in 1840's who used the home as a Stagecoach Inn between Louisville Ky and Nashville Tn..it was also the farm homesite of Susannah Henry Madison, Patrick Henry's sister..very fascinating stuff.. The home is brick and lovely. I actually pulled into the driveway to turn around, and no one was at home. The log house on the property is also on the National Register of Historical Places. Susannah Henry Madison lived in the log house. We stopped so I could take a few pictures. I would love to go inside but it is a private home now.

It was so strange among all the large campus buildings. I was able to get one photo due to the one way road I was on, but I did find some on the internet to share. Here is the history I found from the internet This early nineteenth century log house built in Logan County, KY is a classic example of traditional Kentucky architecture. The dog-trot floor plan and poplar, oak, and walnut construction are typical of the architecture of the region. Reproduction furniture, equipment, tools and clothing inside the Felts House accurately represent an upper income South Central Kentucky family home of 1815 Originally built by Archibald Felts on land near the Gasper River, this log house had remained relatively unchanged over the years. Recognized as a fine example of regional craftsmanship, it was moved here in 1980. Important characteristics include the traditional V-notch and dogtrot construction and the unusual handmade moldings, paneling, and forged hardware. Erected by Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Houston Watkins. Dogtrot Construction of the Cabin Dog Trot log cabins are essentially two log cabins separated by an area that is usually left open. The area in between the cabins/pens, is referred to as a Trot & was used as a breezeway in the Southern States. Dog Trot log cabins are generally oriented so that summer prevailing winds could be used for cooling.

When we arrived just before the show began, the main floor was almost floor, so we opted for climbing the stair to the balcony. There isn't a bad seat in the theatre. However, getting to your seat is a challenge. The house lights went off to begin the show about the time we arrived in the balcony. The steps are DANGEROUS. They are not uniform in size and it's not well lit on the way down. I'm physically fit but felt unsure of myself with the low lighting. A woman arriving after the concert began, face planted down the stairs. There wasn't an employee around to assist. No one offered a light to help her find a seat. The concert, with a mixture of poetry readings and songs was delightful. I wish the younger folks I was with were willing to stay for the entire concert. The Warren County Libraries sponsored the event. Thanks for bringing culture to Bowling Green during our visit.

In my mind I feel like not many people still visit the public library. In this age of internet and…read moree-books what's really the point, right? WRONG!!!! The library is still full of magnificent stories that can't be fully experienced through the immediate reception provided by the internet. Believe me, you're in for happy book exploring! As for this library, I spent about two unexpected hours here while waiting for my husband to get out of a meeting. It's an older building, but they've done a great job keeping up with the times. There's a space for computer use, a children's corridor with rocking chairs, and an area for video/dvd rental. As far as libraries go it's very quaint and has all the things you need - including very helpful staff right at the front desk.
