We hired WNC Decks to redo our back deck and had a great experience from start to finish. We started the hiring process, interviewing other deck companies we found on Yelp in August and decided to use WNC Decks within a couple of weeks. We were surprised to hear that we would have a completed project by October and they followed through and made it happen. The planning stages went smoothly. Their contract was thorough and all the deliveries and crew start times were on time. The crew was very nice and personable and never made me feel like I had a dumb question during the construction phase. We had our back deck redone with Trex decking and cable railing which compliments our mountain views perfectly. SC Design and Build helped us build our dream deck to perfection. We couldn't be happier with the quality and high standards that Cameron and his crew maintained during the entire process. We used TimberTech Azek decking which does very well with the intense heat our Hendersonville home receives most of the day, and stainless cable railing handrails. I would not use WNC decks or the shell company SC Design and Build for any type of work. Cameron Barnett and the money collector Ryan Hamsho run a completely nontransparent operation. My yard became a dumping and storage area for materials that were not part of the project and when confronted, they could not give me an itemized list of the materials for the project at hand. The deck was scheduled in March and still is not complete in September. When the permit was pulled, it was fraudulent from the beginning. Cameron Barnett gave us an estimate at $54,000. The permit pulled with Henderson County, the price of work was listed at $37, 000. Neither Mr Barnett nor Mr Hamsho is a general contractor with a listed NC licence. It does not get any better from there. The subcontractor had to wait multiple times to receive the correct building materials and neither Cameron Barnett or Ryan Hamsho showed up to correct this situation. The dumpster we rented was periodically used by Mr Barnett to dump personal items and construction materials from other work sites. I am not sure but Mr Hamsho seems to be the one collecting the payment installments through a wire transfer account. Mr Barnett would not receive any payments personally. Very shady. Makes one think that Mr Barrnett doesn't have a banking account. To this date, the subcontractors have not been paid. The engineer Mr Eric Monteith has not been paid or filed the required report with the county. So if you want a deck or any other work from the this company, shell company or the three individuals do so at your own peril. read more
