A Funday Sunday Adventure! It takes a lot to get me downtown on a weekend if it's not for a great meal or a baseball game. Usually super busy, crowded and some areas very smelly, I'd rather kiss a pig than be there. The WNDR museum caught my eye. Saw some ads and had nothing planned. Checked tickets and availability was wide open for that day. Easy entering the lobby as well as starting our tour whenever we preferred. There were exhibits upstairs and down. Many were pretty cool with mirrors and lights which made for some WOW moments. Other guests generally moved at about the same pace as us. Some stayed in certain areas for extended time, which, at times caused some backlog of movement. Restrooms located adjacent to the snack bar which is just beyond the entrance/ lobby. Easily a great visit for the young and young at heart! I believe the WNDR museum is scheduled to close at the end of August '25. read more

My husband, my kids and I loved coming here. It was great to experience all the different rooms and just take our time to experience each one. You can easily spend about two hours here just exploring each room, my favorite room was the theater. My daughter's favorite was the very last room before you exit the exhibit, I won't give anything away though so it can be a surprise. read more

This museum is outstanding. It's very immersive. I don't want to give away the joys and surprises but I will say that it is understated and underestimated in its ability to be a San Diego "must see." It was great for people of all ages. There are plenty of things to do, photograph, and record. Theres also a very time cafe in there. The location is great and there's a parking garage nearby. The staff truly care about the place as well. It's a very inclusive, indulgent, statement piece of diversified art and expression and I am happy our family went. People were even there on dates. It's not your average museum where you just go look at antiques living in glass cages. It's truly an experience. My only complaint is that it wasn't bigger but I'm sure with time and recognition, it will grow substantially. read more

I haven't been here during the day, or with children, but a co-worker invited me to last week's Thursday Night 21+ evening experience, 6-10 pm, and it was truly marvelous! I enjoyed every minute from the kindness of the check-in staff, crew at the bar/food counter, the experience, food/drink, and the folks in the gift shop!! And I got to meet Kadija in Operations! She welcomed us as we ate our awesome popsicles (fab Lemon-Lavender and Blue Vanilla- oh my!!!) in the gorgeous welcome lounge. When you need a break from the music and art experiences, you can order some pizza or have popsicles, or a cocktail, and relax in the lounge and meet folks! I met some of the nicest people in the exhibits as we walked/danced around, explored, and interacted. Would be an awesome date-night, even for a first date. A great way to get to know someone! Dress lightly and so you can move as there was a fab DJ and I got to DANCE, which is my all-time favorite thing to do in the evenings. Price was very reasonable- easy to buy tickets on-line and I think it was about $28 each with taxes and fees. Plus bring $ for snacks, cocktails, and souvenirs. The gift shop is wonderful and I spent a hearty sum on treasures, which I love, including a bunch of super cool new decals, pins, and postcards. Love love loved this experience. Great location, too! I found a free parking spot about 500 feet away, but I think that was just lucky. My friend parked 12 blocks away...as there was a game that night so lots of Padres fans needed parking, too. At first, I thought this was affiliated with Wonderspace which first came to SD almost 10 years ago--this is not the case. It's a separate interactive art exhibit located in the gaslamp quarter. Cool thing about this museum is that there's an ample amount of exhibits to go through and there is no time limit. Guests are also allowed to go back and forth between exhibits, but may not return once exited. After finishing the walk through the museum, there's a gift shop and also coffee bar! Have you been to TeamLabs in Japan? Yes? Then you probably shouldn't come here, it's not as impressive and costs too much. However, we needed to find something to do with the grandma so we decided to come here. Amusing enough and took about an hour to get through. We got to see closeupsnofnour eye and makenAINdraw usnsomenpictures, and other stuff - see the pictures - like I said, it was amusing enough but definitely not big enough for what they charge. For what it entails, it's worth it. I too thought it was related to Wonderspace. If you had the chance to experience wonderspace, it was breath taking. To me this is just a great activity to get into and enjoy something outside the norm. While the WNDR Museum did entertain me for 45 minutes, the $32 entry fee excluding mandatory fees was steep for the quality. As expected, parking was difficult but I managed to nab a spot on the street. While the tickets had an expected arrival time, the staff were forgiving on the timing. All purchases were done online and there was a mandatory fee of $3. There were two floors of exhibits and we were told to start on the bottom floor and end on the top. Personally, the bottom floor had more interactive and exciting exhibits while some of the exhibits on top were broken. *Light Floor: the first and best exhibit. It was connecting the entrance to the stairs to the other floors. The pressure censors were still sensitive so it was fun having lights emitting from our feet. *Untitled: spray paint on a board. Very minimalistic. *Obliteration: a visitor made collection of stickers. We were given stickers to also add to the art. *Speak Up: a wall of red phones that were supposed to emit sound yet we couldn't find a single one that worked. The phones were also greasy and would have benefited from a thorough wipe down. *Inside Out: a projected storm within a shed. The images weren't exceptional but it was a pleasant immersive show. *Transit: a simple window that changed colors. Nothing special besides the two hand shaped seats nearby. *Interoptics: incredibly underwhelming compared to pictures. The exit sign was bright and interfered with any photos taken. There weren't enough lights to make the room feel immersive. *Lake Shore Drive: was supposed to follow with movement but the sensor was incredibly poor and inconsistent. The location of the exhibit also made it susceptible to interference by other people moving around. *Untitled, by You: an AI generated panel of images where we could put in phrases into an iPad. The photos took a while to load and they were quite disturbing to the eyes. *Iris: a simple exhibit where we got our eyes photographed. The mirage wasn't clear or big enough for us to admire other photos unfortunately. *Quantum Mirror: the only exhibit that we had to line up for. Strangely it was the exhibit, we also spent the least amount of time on. Some of the mirrors were chipped and patched with duct tape. It was literally a small roundabout lined in dirty mirrors. *Immersive Theater: needed more seating. There were so many guests inside the room that some had to sit on the ground, resulting in some of the projections being blocked. *We Are All Artists: a simple picture illuminated by a neon light. *Color Light: a room covered in various colors until a different light came on, making everything yellow. *The Wisdom Project: another exhibit dependent on visitors. Everyone was allowed to contribute to the walls of doodles. This exhibit definitely wasn't monitored given the profanity and obscenities on display. Some of the exhibits listed on the website weren't present. However, there were 3 stations I also enjoyed that were not mentioned on the website. *Miracle Berry: we got to each enjoy a miracle berry which subverted our taste buds to Sour Patch Kids, hot sauce, and lemon. Very tasty and I always love an interactive activity. *Compliment Generator: there were two of these, one on each floor. However, the one on the top floor ran out of paper so I would definitely take advantage of this on the bottom floor. It was a cute stand that printed out unique compliments. *Fortune Teller: a funny gimmick that generated individualized numbers and cards. The printed ticket was actually detailed and served as decent souvenir. The staff were nice but the museum itself was mixed. I hope that the miracle berry station continues to be a mainstay at the location but given that some of the exhibits were down, the high entry fee didn't seem worth it. I could not understand the concept of this museum at all. As I was walking through each exhibit, nothing seemed cohesive. It felt like they threw in a few art pieces and concepts and then decided to call it a museum. We paid over $30 for entry and it was not worth it AT ALL. Very expensive for a far below average experience. I think the best part was the fact that there's a bar and you can take your drink throughout the "museum" with you. We finished in less than an hour and I couldn't understand how their website said it would take 3 hours to get through. The WNDR museum in San Diego offers a lot to see despite there not being very many exhibits. I believe there are only about 12 but you can spend a decent amount of time interacting with certain ones like the lighthouse, the AI generator or the theater room. While scrolling through social media in my hotel room, I was bombarded with ads for the WNDR museum. They must have figured out the target audience, because it didn't take long for me to visit the website, book a ticket and be ready for my visit! (On a separate note, I had a change in my schedule and needed to change the date and time of my ticket, which was done super easily through the "reschedule" button in the confirmation email. I appreciated that!) When it was time for our visit, we were there a little early-before the museum opened. But right at 11:00, they opened the doors and let us in. We were given a brief explanation of what would happen and how to request access to the elevator, since my wife needed that accommodation. It's a self-guided walk-through of different exhibits. Most of them include different types of lighting and technical elements. There are some spaces where you could lose your footing if you're not careful, so be aware of that. My favorite exhibit was the AI art where you enter some words or description and AI will generate several different graphics for you. It was really cool to see what it would come up with. I'm always tickled at any AI generated graphic with hands-they always have strange hands with more than five fingers. Someday that will get better, certainly. After the museum, you exit through the gift shop and can browse some of their souvenirs. There's a coffee shop on the opposite side and a public all gender bathroom, which I acknowledge and appreciate. One of the staff members said that some of the exhibits would be changing in a few months, so it's worth noting that if you want to come back, it may be a different experience. How cool! read more

This is a neat Interactive Art space. The technology/art mix is pretty cool. Some really cool stations with bright colors, so many mirrors and cool AI art. We arrived right when they opened to avoid parking and crowd issues and it was so worth it! We arrived at 10 am on Sunday and were the first ones in and didn't see anyone else the entire time. We took our time, a little over an hour, and spent lots of time in the interactive stations. I could see how this wouldn't be as fun if you had a crowd in front of you or behind you or just all in your business/space. This is very similar to Wonder Space(?) we have been to before. We liked this art a little better than from WS, a few years ago near the embarcadero. I will check this out again in a year or so to see different exhibits. Check it out. read more

WNDR Museum doesn't live up to its potential and isn't quite worth the high price of admission. The exhibits are somewhat lacking in size, scale, and wow power. The more customers are there, the worse your experience will be (so best to try to go when it's uncrowded). The ai art generator was neat: you input text and it will create five different pieces of art for you in a small gallery - however I went at a crowded time and it took 40 minutes before it was turn for my art to be generated. Many other exhibits like the mirror room - were underwhelming. Staff were all very friendly and I would give it 4-5 stars if tickets cost less than $20. read more

I surprised my boyfriend with date night here for their 21+ Thursday night event called WNDR After Dark. So glad I took a chance and bought tickets and went. We had a blast! This venue is downtown so plan accordingly for parking. It is easy to find and the signage is noticeable. We were greeted as soon as we walked up to the entrance. Our IDs were checked and tickets were scanned. The "hostess" let us know about the food and beverage area and about the pop-up food vendor that was there as well. We stopped to see what food he had on offer and were instantly in. The restaurant is called White Rice San Diego. It is Filipino fare and it was excellent. (I've ordered from them five times since we had it here.) We ordered beverages from the counter and sat in the ample seating area and chowed down. Once we were done we followed the signs to the entrance. Loved the lighted floor entrance and from there is was all gravy. The exhibits were so eye catching and fun and so many of them were interactive. I am touchy feely and very tactile so this museum was a dream land. My favourite exhibit was the room that put you through the seasons and climate changes with sound effects and music. It was sensory overload which was cool. My second favourite was definitely the AI generated art. We stood around with a group of about ten other people and laughed at what AI created. It was fantastic! I went here with my partner and felt underwhelmed after seeing so much attention on social media. There were a lot of LED light exhibits, but we only really enjoyed the jellyfish-looking one where you could walk through the string lights. The layout was confusing & we almost missed an exhibit with a "Zoltar" fortune-telling machine in a hidden room. There were a lot of photo opportunities, although none of the exhibits seemed cohesive. My partner and I also struggled to understand the concepts/meaning behind them. I came here for International Artist's Day yesterday, and that meant a free museum day for Yelpers! I was excited to take on this experience because this is my first time doing a WNDR Museum visit. I unfortunately thought this museum was associated with Wonder Spaces, but they are unrelated and non-associated. I was comparing the two museums and realize that Wonder Spaces did provide a bigger range of interactive exhibits and more to see, while WNDR Museum had more lights, some interactive exhibits, and an AI-generated exhibit. It was pretty cool overall, considering it was free to see; it took only about an hour and a half to see if you take your time. The most time spent was in the Jellyfish exhibit and the AI-generated room since I inputted my idea and waited for it to display. That room probably takes about 5-10 minutes if you're not waiting for a long time in queue. Overall, I wish there was more to see because it was a pretty small museum. My favorite was of course, the entrance that opens you into the blue-lit room where your feet glow when you step along the floor, the Quantum Mirror room, the Jellyfish room, and the "We are all artists" display at the end before you exit. The set up was two black curtain held together by what looked like a binder clip. Set up was confusing, we didn't seem to know if we were going to the right way. This museum is reallt awesome if you love to take cute pics and experience a lot of visual/auditory stimulus. My favorite part was making beats with the music area and seeing how each part lit up, but the experience was very overall aesthetically pleasing as well as interative. Esch and every one of the staff are very sweet and interactive as well. Beware we came on a Saturday evening and it took us about 40 minutes to find parking lol. I can see all the hard work they put here but this place is better as a pop up shop not an actual place you would spend $30.00 bucks and your out in less than an hour. My cousins and I came out to San Diego with no agenda other than Seafood City. lol So this was a whim a stop for us. It was a pretty cool interactive museum. The staff is super friendly, helpful and excited for your experience as if they were going with you. lol One of the staff members suggested we start at the top first because the exit is on the bottom. One of the exhibitions is a theater room and it's called God:Tempo. That was chill. You'll need to watch all around you because it started on one side of the short sides and I was facing the other short side of the room and didn't realize something was happening behind me. The AI generator was cool think of some clever description to input and see what AI creates! :) The Jelly Fish Room is cool. I roamed so I ended up in the Fortune Favors The Curious room. i don't think it's marked, but if you go through the jelly fish that doesn't have a mirrored side, you'll find a jelly fish at the end of the short hall that leads you to the Fortune room. I had a great time in San Diego and took a trip through Gaslamp's unique multi-sensory showcase of art and technology, at the WNDR museum. If you haven't been to the immersive playground you gotta check it out. The WNDR museum is a place where your imagination, creativity, and curiosity can run free. I enjoyed my time so much I look forward to checking out their other locations in Boston and Chicago! Very relaxing and fun! Perfect for date night because the vibes are very sexy and dark. Also great for friends group outing. Photographers would love this place and the price of admission is reasonable. One last thing, be careful in the mirror room because of the socks they make you put on you could really fall and bust your ass big time so please be careful! Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was very fun. The entrance was really nice and cool. The quantum mirror was interesting. You have to take off your shoes and each party gets 1 minute in it. It looks cooler on camera surprisingly. Lots of things to explore and well worth the money in my opinion.
